  1. I have driven automatic since I learned to drive (not since I got my license, a few years later) Never have been stuck in the snow. never will have auto , for that reason. skydiveTaylorville.org [email protected]
  2. I was Ofiddle on the Rec. Peanut and Llucky were there, and I got to help them plan and execute their wedding in Rantoul at the WFFC one year. I think the marriage may have lasted just about that long too. Peanut went to the big sand box for a while to help speed up his retirement from the government. RevJim came and helped us set up in Rantoul a couple of different years, and I occasionally still talk to him. Rarely, but occasionally. One of my favorite long threads on the rec, was "Cat Passing". It was hilarious, lasted for weeks, the more outlandish it got, the more the 'cat lovers' would weigh in. skydiveTaylorville.org [email protected]
  3. QuoteHi Jerry~ remember getting a free towel inside of the laundry soap box, butcha' cain't buy 'em! Cain't Buy em?! No! They're free with DUZ! or a dinner plate with a fill up at the local Texaco? You could trust your car to he man who wears the the Star, the big bright Texaco Star! Great advertising, I remember it to this day. Now who remembers the duo, who did the lines from DUZ detergent? skydiveTaylorville.org [email protected]
  4. Anyone know how much energy it would take to produce block of ice? R.I.P. I live in a house that was built in 1906. I have slots by the back door for TWO ice boxes. This was an upscale house apparently. They drilled holes in the floor for the iceboxes to drip the ice directly into the basement. Around here, they cut ice from the Mississippi River in the winter, and stored it in huge warehouses that had enormous outer walls that were insulated with 18 to 24 inches of newspaper insulation. Of course, I am a youngster, and don't remember any of this, but I have seen the pictures and have the house for proof. My house also has a couple of holes in the floor where the pulley for the damper on the chimney was located. That way, you raise the heat in the house up, without having to go all of the way down to the basement to mess with the furnace. Very uptown. skydiveTaylorville.org [email protected]
  5. So sorry about your friend Pete. Not sure I knew him, but I wish you well. Sounds like Bizz was someone you really admired. Just this AM we were talking about how we think we know someone really well, and then somehthing happens, and we wonder why we didn't know our friend needed help. It's a bad feeling. I hope you don't let it eat you! skydiveTaylorville.org [email protected]
  6. and should I tell him/her?..... yup, still all the same drama, some of the same drama queens, some new drama queeens who failed to read the old drama queens drama, and think that their drama is new drama, when in reality, it's more of the same old drama.. I'm still here, I'm still cynical, I'm still loving this! skydiveTaylorville.org [email protected]

JerryBaumchen[/replyIf If he were a girl, I would have added "and then comes HELL" but he's a he, so I will add "and then comes alot of challenge, but in a fun way"! 12. I do not know if you know who Don Kirlin is. I do not know if you know about squatters rights. But there has been a VERY recent case in Colorado where a skydiving buddy owned a substantial piece of real estate, and planned to build his retirement dream property on it. He lived not far from it, and he and his wife walked past it weekly. He flew over it regularly. A judge and his wife bought the property next door and began encroaching on the Kirlin property. Even tho the Kirlins were paying real estate property taxes and keeping an eye on the place the 'neighbor' was slowly methodically encroaching and eventually TOOK OVER the property. Indeed, they now OWN the property, even tho they never paid anything for it, and never paid any property taxes on it. Apparently, there is a very old, seldom used, law that states that the person who MAINTAINS a property for a set number of years, now has the OWNERSHIP of it. 13. Bummer about the surgery, but I am really glad that you have such a great attitude about still going to the boogie, and having a great time no matter! I'll be thinking of ya, and really, wishing I was packing with you in Nic.! skydiveTaylorville.org [email protected]
  14. I am so glad for his family, that they finally have closure. I am so sad for all of us that it is THIS closure.... skydiveTaylorville.org [email protected]

  17. Mary trying to line up clean laundry with lost people, and lost canadians for international ways. Mary trying to get 'borrowed' golf carts returned to the rightful owners, and Scotty Carbone, being well, Scotty Carbone. Amid a beautifully scripted musical background. Man those were great! skydiveTaylorville.org [email protected]
  18. We had a woman at work who would sit in her cubby and smoke, it was under the curve of a staircase. She quit working there, and we cleaned up her cubby. I washed the ceiling above her desk, and it went from a grey-gold color to WHITE. The gunk that came off of that ceiling was amazing. I remember thinking "and her lungs are FULL of that!" You are going to be so much better off! Put the cash you would spend on cigs each day in a container. Look at it in a month. 2 months, 6 months. You will be amazed at how much richer you will be. 19. Hey Chango! Thanks so much for sharing these! I can't tell you how happy it makes me to hear Iz singing the rainbow. I close my eyes and I can smell the dropzone! Miss you bud! skydiveTaylorville.org [email protected]
  20. I am so lucky! I have a 1996 Buick with 200 K on it. Paid for, gets 32 MPG. Haven't had a car payment in at least a dozen years. I feel sorry for you. Oh yea, my work vehicle is a 1997 truck with 240 K. LOVE IT! If anyone knows of a Chevy in the midwest with maybe 100 to 150 K on it, I would like to expand my fleet! skydiveTaylorville.org [email protected]

  22. In 1974, this very arrogant music type came up to me and said "hey babe, I'm going out Friday night, wanna come" I told him "go fuck yourself, if you can cut your hair, quit smoking and ask me out like a lady, then we'll talk" Two weeks later we went out on ONE date. ONE, and we have been married now for 37 years. When it's right, it's right! skydiveTaylorville.org [email protected]
  23. In the first 10 or so years of my marriage, I would have walked 30 different times. If I wasn't broke, Catholic, emabarrassed, you name it. We had huge fights that lasted longer than 2 years at a time. After all of the years we have been married now, I can look back and say "geez, we were KIDS!" Kids don't have the ability to make great decisions. But having 'commitment' decided for us, by the Church, by our parents, by our society, we stuck it out. WOW! I thought I was in love when I married the man, but after having 2 kids, adopting 1, fostering lots others, building a life together, a family together and a community together, I realize I really didn't know what love was. Or maybe it's just that much better after all of that togetherness. skydiveTaylorville.org [email protected]
  24. Today is Sunday. I find it frustrating because I have LOTS of house projects to work on, and I have TONS of client stuff to do. So even if I finish one thing, I still have so much to do that my type A personality doesn't let me sit still for very long. To really rest, or to take a day completely 'off' I have to go somewhere else. Oh darn. DZ anyone? skydiveTaylorville.org [email protected]
