  1. [ Probably going to camp at the DZ for the two weeks unless anyone has a better suggestion. I would rather use that money to help me get gear or more jumps in while I'm there. YUP, this guy is a skydiver. Already thinking of the price of things as "how many jumps is this gonna cost me?" Welcome to our world! skydiveTaylorville.org [email protected]
  2. Sorry about your buddy! BSBD, Shakey! skydiveTaylorville.org [email protected]

  5. This is a timely thread for us. We are looking to upgrade our digs, so we can do more traveling. When I set up the WFFC, I slept on the floor of whatever abandoned building the city would give me keys to, with about a dozen other idiots who would show up early to help me set up. Then I would put a small pup tent up in tent city. Eventually, I would have some sort of a rented rv there. Last trip to Couch Freaks, I slept in the back of my Buick LeSabre, big enough for me and the dwarfs! Now that Dave is back on the road with me, I need something that he and I can both sleep in. We are thinking that we could get a decent van, remove the back seat and add a bed. I like the airconditioning idea. I will check into that! That would work for me at Oshkosh too, although they have been very generous and have given me space in a bunk house there. skydiveTaylorville.org [email protected]
  6. I am so sorry that you (we) lost a terrific person! I am so glad for you, that you got to know him personally. I am so glad for him, that he had you, (someone who obviously cares) as his instructor, mentor and fried. BSBD skydiveTaylorville.org [email protected]
  7. Oh, I do hope that he is happy! GFD would have wanted that more than anything! skydiveTaylorville.org [email protected]
  8. I'd pay money to hear you on THAT call! It might be even funnier if I made the call. I can sound like a retard. I love you guys! You always have my back! skydiveTaylorville.org [email protected]
  9. I feel really jelous to older generations - you guys had all the best music inb the world and you had it live. And all we got crappy Nirvana (let the sh@tstorm begins :) My grandson got 'guitar hero' for Christmas a couple of years back, and it was loaded with cool old songs. After he had been 'playing' one of the songs over and over on the pretend thing that isn't a guitar, my son finally pulled out his REAL guitar and taught him the song. My son said "heck, if you're gonna spend this much time learning something, it might as well be the real deal'. There are so many ways to make 'music' that I fear a lot of instruments will become a thing of the past. I credit the Beatles with making 'learning music' an interesting thing again for that generation. Until Eleanor Rigby and Lady Madonna, no one wanted to lug around a cello anymore, and schools were crying for kids to learn how to play it. Enter the Beatles, and suddenly, the manufacturers couldn't keep up with production. No one in the Western music field had ever heard of a Sitar, and suddenly, everyone wanted one. We definitely need some new blood. skydiveTaylorville.org [email protected]
  10. That was the plan all along! I have every program my kids were in, not gonna change that now! Elvisio, CA Jones. One of my favorite RB'S! Next to you of course! skydiveTaylorville.org [email protected]
  11. And for the next 30 years everyone who played in a band had to play it at every gig they ever did. Which I don't understand because it is totally impossible to dance to. skydiveTaylorville.org [email protected]
  12. Apparently, mom and dad got some cajones, and told the manipulating bitch to back off. They made it clear to her that THEY would make the decisions for their kids, and that school functions would come before anything else. They also told her, from now on, ASK Mom and Dad before planning activities for her grandkids. I am very proud. I know it took guts! Yea! Katie gets to sing! skydiveTaylorville.org [email protected]

  14. I have always backed off, out of respect for my kids. It's time for the sucker punch mentioned in the previous post. I am so ashamed of my daughter, for not standing up for her daughter! I can't believe I raised her. skydiveTaylorville.org [email protected]
  15. I have the cutest granddaughter, who will pick up any object and use it as a microphone. She will ask you, "Would you like me to sing for you?" and before you answer, she will start singing a song she made up about her cat, or breakfast, or her brother playing basket ball. She dances CONSTANTLY and sits and the piano, and takes requests. This kid is a born entertainer. She has an annual Christmas program at the preschool, which is next Thursday at 6 PM. Her other grandmother bought disney on ice tickets for the 7 PM performance on the same night. Even though there are 7 additional performances on following days. Because for some strange reason, this child is going to know the difference between opening night, and the others. DUH! There have been thousands of tickets available for all of the other performances, but will this bitch budge? NO! And my daughter and her son are so damn spineless, they don't just say "Stop it! This is important to the kid" Grow up and be an adult and trade your tickets for a different performance. Now the other grandma is telling the kid "you don't really want to sing in front of all of those people, it will make you nervous" WHAT AFUCKING SELFISH BITCH! skydiveTaylorville.org [email protected]

cool that you should ask this! Ever wonder about the Stradivarius violins that are now worth MILLIONS of dollars per copy?Let's see. Stradivari built violins in the mid 1700's made out of trees that were hundreds of years old. Ask me more. I know (have) old wood. skydiveTaylorville.org [email protected]
  18. used to be one. Actually made my living that way for a while. A long while. Then you A$$hats got under my skin and so long music! skydiveTaylorville.org [email protected]
  19. Hey Mark! Send me your logbook sometime, and when I am down there, I will have him sign it for you, or you can send it to the WFFC Airboss, he would take care of that for you too! skydiveTaylorville.org [email protected]
  20. Back in rec.skydiving days, there was a very lengthy pretty funny thread about 'cat passing'. Or maybe it was just the late hours and the wine.... skydiveTaylorville.org [email protected]
  21. I know skydiving is dangerous CHECK I know I may get hurt CHECK I know I may die CHECK I know people will take pictures CHECK I know they will post them on the net CHECK I know they will all point and laugh CHECK Yea that about covers it. skydiveTaylorville.org [email protected]
  22. No one in this house ever got one. Then in 2008 Streaker got sick and stayed sick into 2009. Hospitalized in Feb of 2009 for the whole month, then part of Mar. Came home in a wheelchair 53 pounds lighter and on Oxygen full time. Unable to walk. Began to get somewhat better during the summer, but didn't go back to work for 7.5 months. That next fall, the doc's comment was "if there was only one flu shot available in the hospital, I would be giving it to you" He explained that the chance of catching the flu was incredibly high, like 1 in 20, while the chance of getting sick from the shot was incredibly low, like 1 in 100.000. Yup, we both get shots. Killed vaccine, you don't get the flu from it. Period skydiveTaylorville.org [email protected]
  23. Have you had an ANA test? (Lupus antibody) Have you had an ENA ANA panel done? Lupus would explain all of your symptoms. skydiveTaylorville.org [email protected]
  24. I have been been asked on numerous occasions to perform the National Anthem. It is not an easy song, but it is an important representation of our Country. I take it seriously. When asked to sing it, I am usually at the funeral of a soldier, or at the Memorial service for our Fire Fighters or Police. I try to take a minute or two to think about what the Author,Frances Scott Key,was thinking while he was in prison writing it,, or listen to what Whitney Houston belted out when she sang it. Don't embelish. The Holy Spirit knows what it should be. skydiveTaylorville.org [email protected]
  25. Daves Grandmother had decided that it was time to give up driving. We parked her car in front of our house with a 'for sale' sign on it, battery disconnected. Our babysitter called me at work one day saying that there was a man at the door who wanted to test drive it. I told her she would have to tell the man to wait until Dave got home from work that night. Then she says "oh no, it's ok, he got it going, and they are leaving now." I figured that we were probably going to have to come up with some money to pay Daves Grandma, since someone just stole the car. Later that night a man came up to our front door with a passle of kids and the cash for the car. He said he figured he would just 'hot wire' the car to test it, and was really baffled til he realized that the battery was disconnected. We told him that the reason it was disconnected was because it kept discharging, even tho it was a new battery. That car went to the right home. skydiveTaylorville.org [email protected]
