Anyone crying about petulance or decorum or tantrums from any part of the Democratic party can fuck right off. This is the bar that has been set, it's the new normal now, deal with it. They played nice and tried to do the right thing for years, and nothing changed. Trump didn't slow down one bit and no-one in his party has held him accountable, so why the hell would the D's continue to be the "nice" guys? It's almost like one party gets to do whatever they want and the other one is just supposed to take it. Same reason people are always saying the Dem's need to reach out and bring the moderate R's across to them with more conservative approaches, but will NEVER contemplate that maybe the R's should be trying to attract Dem's. "Meet me in the middle, says the unjust man. You take a step toward him. He takes a step back. Meet me in the middle, says the unjust man."

it wasn't a state of the union address, it was a trump rally. he doesn't know how to act any other way when he is in front of a microphone. i am also not surprised that someone calls his lies exaggerations as his fan boys are fanatical. too stupid to realize that by backing this idiot, they are selling out their country. all i hear when asked about why folks support him is "my 401k is doing pretty well". i hope it is worth it, selling out country for a retirement that wouldn't be needed had they not decimated the social security.

Dear Mr Mistercwood, I've been following your posts intently as so they deserve. But, if you'll allow the intrusion, I fear you do not grasp what is the purpose of our conversations on SC in general and with Mister Brent in particular. Logical consistency with past statements is not the object of our desires. No. No one cares about that anymore. The true purpose of these exercises is to wear each other down with stultifying retorts until no one is any longer interested and some bored fool starts another thread so we can start again. I trust this has been helpful in some small way. Your faithful correspondent, Joe

That isn't what she said. And equating tearing a piece of paper to losing your temper is insane.

Class includes: Paying a porn star. Making fun of a gold star family. Making fun of a disabled person. Praising nazis. Denying science. Stealing from a charity. Setting up a fake university. Joking about committing sexual assault. But Pelosi tearing up some paper, now that is outrages.

Bloomberg was asked, after Trump had tweeted about him a few times, what he thought about two billionaires fighting over twitter. His response was: Who is the other billionaire?

Even for the Democratic Party, the past few weeks have been bizarre. First, Donna Brazile, the former chair of the Democratic National Committee, published excerpts of a forthcoming book in which she says that after she took over the Democratic National Committee, she investigated “whether Hillary Clinton’s team had rigged the nomination process” through the DNC, and discovered evidence that they did. “I had found my proof and it broke my heart,” she wrote. Question - Do you believe HRC was given debate questions ahead of her opponents?

I think more folks are becoming aware that the approach that the ISMHOF has taken is failing. Don't have to go into why, that's old news. So let's hear some ideas of how to get the museum done, a method to keep it open without massive contributions and perhaps, a better use for the funds already raised. I'll start: Lets build it at Skydive Arizona. Larry has the space and can build a custom facility. He also has the hull of the Skyvan GHWB did his solo from. Almost everyone visits the place and it isn't going anywhere. I wude like to see some of the funds go toward something that can benefit the membership. I think a small mobile museum with a helicopter that can travel the country in the summer and visit Dropzones. I've posted this before with the idea of a 205 (civilian hughey). Carting that around isnt practical but a smaller bird is. Not gonna get into which 1 but, give feedback if you'd like to have a dedicated helicopter visiting your area once or twice a yr. The ISMHOF currently is sitting on approx. 5.7 million. More than enuff to cover the costs of the above items. There are now 15 Trustees, Pres. VP and Secretary. Secretary is the only salaried person. Somehow, they are spending over 327,000 dollars a yr supporting this endeavor. That's over 37% of all funds raised. The USPA has been contributing members money to the tune of $25,000 per yr for 2 yrs and has committed to do it for another 4. Many individuals have donated $5000 personally. And what is there to show for it? 48 yrs of false promises and no results. Those funds cude have been used for so many other things. Funding athletes for competitions, better representation for airport access and so much more. This is crazy. I think every USPA member shude be aware of what the ISMHOF is REALLY doing and end this NOW. SDA is hosting the Nationals in 2021. I propose we get serious and get this done before then. Lets hear what you think...

Just last weekend, flying to Boise, as I brought my support snake on, someone rudely proclaimed “I have had it with these mother fucking support snakes on this mother fucking plane.” I sat down and put my headphones on and just ignored him. Lucky for him I had my support snake to keep me calm.

Listen carefully when briefed as the Heli is a bit fragile here and there, door etc. We are sitting a bit cramped in there, so make sure all your handles are securely in place both when boarding the Heli and climbing out at exit. Briefing is thorough, and coach will plan exit point according to your skills. Enjoy the views and focus on that instead of doing multipoint flocks, you are there for the views.

Come on man, just because there was a fuckup doesn’t mean it was nefarious. The idea that the DNC would willingly shoot themselves in the foot and hand the RNC so much ammunition by spectacularly fucking up in full public view just to deny their less favoured son a victory lap ahead of the next caucus is not an example of healthy scepticism. It simply doesn’t make sense. Regardless of whether they’re trying to rig it I can’t believe they’re stupid enough to rig it this way.

Some suits are better on specific point than other (and generally worst on other) but there are not such a thing like "some model are superior" or "some brand are like this".It s not fact what you say, just your opinion. And i m sorry but you are wrong on almost every point. And also off topic.

I have an Idea. Let's elect Adults this time around. These petulant children we have pretending to be leaders is fucking ridiculous. Pelosi snubs Trump on the introduction. Trump snubs her back with a deliberate missing handshake. (Probably) Pelosi rips up an historic document. I remember this type of behavior in the 8th grade.

Yep - I do think the OP is planning on keeping their distance. And glad to hear you say that - thanks for clarifying. I've lost 3 friends to jumps from a helicopter over mountain terrain in Europe. Which is probably why @mccordia & @Bluhdow jumped in with their warnings - it seems like every few years more people reach the point where they have enough skills to do these things...and many aren't aware of the lessons (and dangers) exposed by some exceptional (top of the game) pilots who've paid the ultimate price. Hope you get in some great jumps when you get out there, and fly safe!

Agree. It seems to be something that should only be done by experienced WS BASE jumpers, and then also with a higher degree of caution than on their average BASE jump. Thinking about it now I feel like if you were able to isolate the number of proximity flights made from aircraft it would have a higher fatality rate than any other form of parachuting.

A well regulated highway system, being necessary to the internal migration of a free state, the right of the people to own untaxed electric powered vehicles shall not be infringed. Sounds good to me.

I dont think he plans to proxy fly out of an airplane. He said in his post that he wants to stay a few thousand feet up. I was the one talking about terrain flights and I am aware that a terrain flight should be treated as a WS BASE jump regardless of the vehicle used to get there.

February 4, 1990. I was sitting in a Cessna 182 and this guy told me to get out. So I did. Then he told me to let go. So I did. And there it began. There have been so many changes and advancements in skydiving since my first jump. There were pretty much four disciplines back then (five if you count instructing) - RW, CRW, freestyle, and style and accuracy. We all flew big slow F111 mains. Some of us still had round reserves. A 180 to final was okay. So were big S turns on final. AAD's were for sissies. Audible altimeters had one beep. If we wore a helmet, it was a leather "frap hat" because only students wore hard helmets. Swooping was what you did in freefall to get to the formation (don't you ever swoop my slot again!). A case of beer was a case of beer, not a 12 pack. Very few dz's flew turbines. Most students did their first jumps on a static line out of a Cessna. USPA D license numbers were in the low 10,000's. And look at the sport now. Tunnels and coaches and turbines and modern gear and canopy education and GoPros and so many different things to do in the air. Jumpers today have more skills at 200 jumps than lots of us dinosaurs had at 500, 600,1000 jumps. Makes me wonder what skydiving will look like in 2050 (not that I expect to be around to see it). Just like I couldn't have imagined what skydiving would be today, I can't even imagine what it will look like by then. It's been an awesome thirty years for me. Thanks to everyone that has been a part of it.

Well....there is no real need for a skydiving HoF. Skydivers are not famous outside of skydiving. It is a vanity project and is completely unneeded and unjustified. Successful HoFs are revenue generators because the public has large enough numbers of people who are interested. No one gives a shit about skydivers, but some of us like to think what we do is special. These people need to get over themselves.

Jim McCormick spoke last Fri at the BOD meeting. He showed several sites that the ISMHOF is considering for the museum. Still touting the idea of building it with a tunnel, both horizontal and vertical. Still counting on the public supporting it financially in the future when and if it ever gets done. Apparently they think the public will be donning wingsuits and flying in a horizontal tunnel. Reiterated the 18 month schedule that was promised last yr. IF that happens, then they have less than 1 yr to pick the site, buy or lease, design a brand new concept building, apply for permits in 1 of the busiest commercial markets in the US and raise another 8-12 million dollars (their estimate). I don't see a single Trustee that has a history of managing these kind of projects. They did choose Mike McGowan to be an honorary Trustee this past Mon. He appears to have been surprised and unaware of this decision. Great guy we all love but, you have to wonder why do this? That makes 17 members of the ISMHOF. Haven't accomplished anything in 48 yrs and now adding another is going to suddenly allow them to perform what can only be viewed as a Miracle. Can they do it? History and their track record says NO WAY! Time for a new approach.

In the 70s you were cool if you had a Camaro, a Mustang, or even one of those crappy Mopar muscle cars. Caddys were for old people. By the time the 80's came around I was in in my twenties, and close to being married with children. I had a Volvo 164E that was pretty nice.

And this is who so many are okay with occupying the office of the PRESIDENT. "Heard it somewhere and it seemed right to him." He is in the office that has all the resources at his disposal. ALL of them. Anything he needs to learn/understand, there is SOMEONE (or many someones) who will appear in short order to explain it ad nauseum and ad infinitum. Answer all the questions until the matter is understood. "seemed right" is not the guesswork that the occupant of the most powerful position in the country (and most of the world) should just be spouting off. Let's not even get started on the comment that he doesn't have good judgement. [facepalm] All the accomplishments supporters want to point to? I'll admit, some things enacted in this administration have been good. Getting started on prison reform, for example. Great first step in that process. However, no one has convinced me that THIS guy is the only person in the country who could have signed those bills, or negotiated anything. In a different perspective: his incredibly short list of accomplishments are vastly overshadowed by this incredibly MASSIVE pile of damages.

Note that these kind of jumps near terrain are 'a skydive' but when combined with impulsive decisions can quite quickly turn into proximity flights that do demand other gear choice and a more seasoned/trained background for making those (close to terrain) flights. Especially on the Eiger jumps, some people tend to fly towards vs away from the mountain, and end up flying a lot lower than their choice of gear and experience should allow for. Its an incredible visual, but always respect the safety and training standards from skydiving and don't put yourself lower or closer to terrain than you should be...

Where is @gisellemartins Soude, there was a long discussion on this forum about 7 years ago about if it is possible to design wingsuits with large enough wings to allow soaring (like a hang glider). The answer is it is not possible for many reasons. You can search for "JetMan" to see a person flying under a rigid wing.

Sarcasm for the Day... 1. I'm not saying let's go kill all the stupid people. I'm just saying let's remove all the warning labels and let the problem work itself out. 2. I changed my car horn to gunshot sounds. People move out of the way much faster now. 3. You can tell a lot about a woman's mood just by her hands. If they are holding a gun, she's probably angry. 4. Gone are the days when girls used to cook like their mothers. Now they drink like their fathers. 5. You know that tingly little feeling you get when you really like someone? That's common sense leaving your body. 6. I don't like making plans for the day because then the word "premeditated" gets thrown around in the courtroom. 7. I didn't make it to the gym today. That makes five years in a row. 8. I decided to change calling the bathroom the "John" and renamed it the "Jim". I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning. 9. Dear paranoid people who check behind shower curtains for murderers. If you find one, what's your plan? 10. Everyone has a right to be stupid. Some just abuse the privilege.
