Sangi, something that you need to understand is that the canopy being flown has never been the limiting factor in swooping. It sounds like you have the idea in your head that, with the pilot taken out of the equation, that the JVX flown 100% perfectly will outperform a velo/comp velo that is also flown 100% perfectly. No pilot in skydiving history has ever flown their canopy so perfectly that additional speed/distance (disregard wind) is unattainable. This means the maximum performance of any parachute is yet to be seen, and at the moment is unknown. From my own observations of what the top pilots are pulling off, the fact that the JVX pilots and velo pilots are trading off records every year suggests that the ultimate performance of the two are relatively close. I do believe that there is a wing that performs ultimately higher, as there are with airplane wings, but the level of testing, research, and variable control in sport parachuting has not gotten to the point where definitive conclusions can be drawn. Hopefully this helps you better understand the point that its not the wing, its the pilot.

Guys, Quit the brand war. The only one out there is the one in your heads. There's no doubt that the pilot makes the wing perform, and I believe any of the top pilots would do well under the either of the wings. Sangi, I suggest you post more cautiously, you are dangerously close to trolling. Posting intentional inflammatory comments (you have a history of this) will not be tolerated. Consider this your one warning. Ian Performance Designs Factory Team

Ian posted this news in a thread titled "Why Velocity is so popular?"... as if to offer it as proof that the Velocity is better than the JVX. Sangi was merely countering that implication. I don't think that makes him look like a fool.

I always thought foreigners won't be able to correctly pronounce my real name - Ignas (I is short and not "AY", and G is short and not GYYY), so I came up with Sangi, which is my real name the other way around.. I was wrong though, at least Brits have never made a mistake reading or and pronouncing it correctly.. "Dream as you'll live forever, live as you'll die today." James Dean

If you freeze the video at about the 29 second mark, you will notice that this is a downwind swoop based off of the flags. Anything will go "fast" and "far" on a downwind swoop without much effort. Edit to add: But I'm sure you already knew that, Sangi

How come I keep hearing otherwise from so many people...? That is simple. Because none of them have ever flown one :) I am one of your 10 busiest distributors and here you are telling my customer I am full of shit. Gary, Help me understand where did I tell you, you are full of it? Well done! I ahve been trying to get Sangi to buy a pilot and giving him honest opinions of my experience on both the safire 2 and the pilot and you quickly jump in here and tell my customer i dont know what I am talking about and that I am full of shit. I give your company close to $100K a year and you are this quick to jump into a thread and make these comments to my customer, that I ahve never flown a Pilot and I have no idea what I am talking about. I made a post earlier to your comment going on about how nothing comes close to a pilot and i thought I would delete it. Now I come back to this thread and here you are still going on to my customer making them lose faith in what I am telling them. I am thoroughly disappointed that I just lost a $7000 sale because you have feel the need to tell my customer i have no idea what I am talking about. Yeah yeah, you didnt know, maybe you should consider what you are saying before you do? You really think I have never flown a pilot before even though i have sold hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of them for your company?

Good advice - the best way to decide is to demo them personally. BTW - Sangi there are no options for SPEED 2000 as an option or an X-Fast reserve. Both are low volume reserves and have been on the market for several years and are tried and tested designs and are available in large sizes now

Hi Sangi, IMO, not a good way to evaluate a piece of equipment. Look at the rig Craig O'Brien is wearing on Page 51 of Nov PARACHUTIST. It is a 'really worn and old' Infinity. Now look at the 'Post Your Infinity Thread,' see the differences? JerryBaumchen PS) I look really worn and old but I still got 'some' life left in me.

I have to semi-backup Sangi on this one (shudders). It's BPA regs they're talking about. Or perhaps BPA vs EIREPA. I don't know... "That formation-stuff in freefall is just fun and games but with an open parachute it's starting to sound like, you know, an extreme sport." ~mom -

Sangi, i could understand your disappointment, but to us in Eloy and to us Judas, the Meow means a lot. Meow is kinda the battle call of the Eloy Crew, like Babylon have their Maou.It has the same origins, just for anglophone. It's for shure something the insiders will understand more. But it was just an idea to try to customize the messages. In the future Teams or Schools can order their Name or their call on the screen. It's just a little funny detail. But Sangi, it's not a joke. You don't realize she is Tony's #1 test pilot. She is only wearing that suit to throw Robi off track. But now that Scotty has leaked her true identity to the public, I'm sure Robi will be heading to his super secret dungeon to produce an even better suit that is a joke so you will be even more disappointed. 50 donations so far. Massive congratulations to Elias for making his first wingsuit flight today! I know how he hates the spotlight, so Im here to give him a nod! I met Eli quite some time ago, and as he wil gladly tell everyone, straight of AFF, his sole wish was to fly a wingsuit. He has been lurking here quite a lot to read and learn, and made one or two posts where he felt he had something to add/say (sangi..read and learn). And talking to him, you could notice he lived and breathed wingsuit. Enthousiastic doesnt encapsulate this kid Dispite wanting to start way sooner than generaly recommended, and having some examples on doing so closeby, Eli followed the advice given to him, pushed on, and made a sh*tload of jumps to get some experience under his belt. And today, the waiting payd off, and Eli got to cruise the chilly skies over Hoevenen, Antwerp! His flight was textbook, doing a nice patern, dummy pulls and pull-sequence at the right altitude and in a good and relaxed style of flying. And performance-wise, also showing much promise after only one jump already Many long, safe and beautifull flights Eli! And welcome to the flock! Here are a few pix from today: gear up - exit - clouds - smile JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Matt, great looking rig...I recently took delivery of my 5th racer, will own nothing else. Sangi, it was a misrouted rsl, not a bad design, TI did not release one side of the rsl to clear it. Miami

sangi. whole different thing... between filming a subject from some distance away,,, and Docking on that subject.. Better to be concentrating on the dive, accepting, that it CAN result in less than optimum 'framing'.. no big deal. we all saw KetiaO.. good work twardo.. it can take a few jumps to zero in... the camera... as for eyesight, i'd rather NOT have one... tried with and without, and having it, bothers me, and can be a snag concern.. Rather,,,,video with a natural relaxed head position and ADJUST the camera TO the helmet as needed, up/ down. right/left... to bring the subjects into center... especially for video..only. Of course use a helmet that doesn't dance around on your head,,,, AT ALL..... Ringsight, maybe... for spot on stills, or for still shots, taken while a lens is zoomed, to any extent. and that... only after substantial experience with skydiving camerawork. ... how i see it... jmy

I suspect that Sangi's point was that our attitude toward what is "safe" or at least a reasonable level of risk will change over time, not that we all develop a death wish. For example, my first canopy was a PD 9-cell 210. I was loading that at about 0.95:1. When I first started, I never used front risers as part of landing because diving at the ground and increasing my speed during landing was a more advanced and riskier move. I also said that I had no interest in swooping or high performance landings. As I gained skill and experience I started to experiment with double fronts. Today, I jump a Sabre2 150 loaded at about 1.36:1. I often do 90 or 180 front risers turns to land and find such landings fun. I'm no swoop jock just yet, nor is it on my immediate list of goals in the sport, but at the same time, I can see myself transitioning to a Katana at some point, downsizing further and perhaps one day even flying a cross-braced canopy. Couldn't have replied better myself. "Dream as you'll live forever, live as you'll die today." James Dean

I completely agree with you Sangi, but what about getting the helmet now and attaching the camera in 190+ jumps?
