  1. How is your canopy fit? Loose or snag? You might have better openings with a loose fit or open corners. I'm jumping with TS X-Bird without extra long bridle. I was jumping Phantom with short, normal and extra long bridle. It was no difference for me.
  2. Fly like a brick, land like a sack of bricks. A Sabre would serve you better even with 1000 jumps.
  3. The split bad does not make packing easier.
  4. Incorrect. Just because it hasn't happened yet, doesn't mean that it can't. This could be the point where you found a new religion. If none could come up some real event than let's just sit and watch those jumping in hoodies.
  5. WTF are you doing swooping if you don't know the answer to this question? WTF are you doing on the internet if you cannot read a simple question without reading things into it that may not have been on purpose? I say ploughing turn .
  6. You are funny. No GPS tells you where you are, but tell you where you can be with a certain precision. You seem to know a lot about GPS.
  7. I don't think I'll argue it any more, but your definition of "up" is a different than most people. You are quite right. Do not feed the troll. She got no business with WS flying other than collecting some grains of attention here.
  8. Really convincing. BTW What is 3D speed? The magnitude of your velocity vector instead of the horizontal component. Non-technical: How fast you're moving through the air, irrespective of direction Getting a velocity vector for the almost reliable ground speed and the quite unreliable GPS altitude? That sounds really handy. My experience with several GPSs in my plane is that although the absolute altitude error is large, it doesn't change very fast so vertical speed errors over a short time frame are quite acceptable. The GPS derived VSI on my Garmin agrees pretty well with the pressure based VSI in the plane's panel. Without right sensors like barometric altimeter and Pitot tube that is not an instrument, but an expensive gadget.

  11. That is a Stiletto and not a modern full elliptical canopy.
  12. You can try and accept and live with the consequences. line twists cut-aways from line twists tears and cuts from shitty landings on your expensive suit big cuts from EMT on your expensive suit gray hair from all above Jari Kuosma used to jump wing suit with Katana97. What does it mean? Are you ready for Katana? Are you ready for Katan97? Are you ready jumping wing suit with Katana97? I got 250+ jumps on Cobalt at WL 1.7-1.8+ and 2 cut-aways from line-twist with wing suit.
  13. Another good reason not to buy as the first altimeter, but when you are ready to safely land without a working altimeter.
  14. I was flying both as a student. I did not liked the 7 cell, accuracy canopies.
  15. How is your fit on the main tray? I've jumped the very same canopy with 2 different container: VectorII loose fit and Javelin tight fit. It opened better and cleaner if I jumped with VectorII, because of the better fit.
  16. Brian Germain would say fly your wing coordinated. Have you seen a small thread in the cockpit of a glider? Your indicator is your PC. If your PC is pointing strait back, you are flying coordinate, not sliding, sliping. Your canopy might have some oversteer, because is not super stable, but it is flying more efficient and faster than a square canopy in comparable size. Try to imaging that you just don't release the controls if you finish your turn, but end if with a little opposite control. You can do that with toggles or just harness turn. check this You could fly your canopy only with harness input until flare. Feel and fly your canopy as little control input as possible. You won't notice oversteer after some time if you do it right.
  17. WBT-201 is an old cr@p. Get some MTK II chipset based device, like i-Blue 747+. No more fight for satellite lock.
  18. Bagging does not make a significant difference on sniveling. I do wolmari pack too, but it does not make my snivel time shorter or longer.
  19. Yes, there is some release system similar to Capewell. Have you seen a student dragged by 260 sqft cannopy? Now you can imagine how easy a 800sqft round canopy can be handled. I've heard stories when the cost o the kind of action was the belly mounted reserve.
  20. If you're bored after five jumps it's you, not the suit. Look into the Shadow/Phantom or I-Bird/T-Bird. I think this is bad advice. I started on an I-Bird and then transitioned to a Vampire 2 after a few jumps. The vampire 2 flew significantly further than the I-bird and was significantly easier to pilot. Absolutely, because you know everything better... If you have a skinny or average built, all-around/acrobatic suits are the way to go.
  21. That is a great stunt, but not really practical for everyday jumping.
  22. I sometimes got 20m difference between Neptune and Optima altituda indicated.
