  1. How is the direction of the pattern affect getting a conflict at lets say 80m on final? I admit that I have failed to spotted my "party", but I don't agree the way he/she resolved the conflict and the risk of having a canopy collision was not even spotted by the other party. It was my 7th day of jumping there, there was a ground/landing person on duty. I have used both left and right pattern according situation, traffic and wind direction. None had any complain about me under canopy, which does not prove me right of course.
  2. There is a no-fly zone one the left side: swoop area/swoop lane. I was coming there with a right pattern with 320m/220m/120m turning points. I've seen that copy crossing about 90-100m when I was on final. What difference does it make to fly left or right pattern if someone is crossing the whole landing area crosswind direction?
  3. Is there transcript available somewhere? I've listened to that clip. There was not anything about spinning line-twist. Weird. I push my risers together if I have a line-twist. The canopy wants to open and spins me out of the twist.
  4. I also like putting chemicals all over my canopy There is a thing called textile marker.....
  5. You can find him on facebook. His name is Rami Kajala, rami.kajala.
  6. Sure the length of the recovery arc is longer, but the altitude used for recovery is the very same. How your can would know about your ground speed?
  7. It is nice a thing that they are willing to sell to some selected and qualified people outside of PD Factory team.
  8. No surprise. Right place to build a nest.
  9. You ever watched a competitive round of speed swooping? The top finishers are always on rears. Do you jump a canopy tuned for competitions?
  10. I got about this with Cobalt135 when brakes were not set.
  11. How about even trying to use search here?
  12. I did my cord for power-tool twice. It is made from cypres cord. I finger trapped both and and stitch it too.
  13. I got one jump on a Cobalt 135 WL 1.8+ when I forgot to set my brakes. I had my wildest opening there. My canopy was trying to fly with uninflated center cells in a shape of a V. I pulled some rears to help inflation. I got 2 full twist on the lines in a split second from stall recovery. I was really close to give up and cut it away.
  14. I'd rather say Spectra is going out of fashion, HMA and Vectran are used on more and more canopies.
  15. I have seen seen this kung-foo once done. I can't remember any difference in flight. There is a better trick out there: get a new Dacron or Vectran line-set instead.
  16. Think again. I got bridle knotting with PF-Stealth and classic(student) deployment. Full flight has smaller burble than classic with a huge suit. I moved back to full flight deployments and no more knots. Your definition of "classic student position" and Gerhardt's may differ. You had knots on more than one deployment?? My definition of classic deployment position is all wings closed, arch and pull after 5 sec delay. I got knot on my bridle more than 5 times, my canopy deployed just normally, but no more knots after went back to fly-pull-fly
  17. If you have a choice and doubt go for the less radical one. How have you end up with one of the biggest suit? What have you jumpped before?
  18. Think again. I got bridle knotting with PF-Stealth and classic(student) deployment. Full flight has smaller burble than classic with a huge suit. I moved back to full flight deployments and no more knots.
  19. hi there im jumping a 97 spectre wingloading of 1.4 (22-)24" ZP kill-line PC would be enough. There is no need to get a bigger than 26-28"
  20. Just make sure you got video about it .
  21. What size of canopy are you jumping?
  22. How is your canopy fit? Loose or snug fit?
