Brother, I have to side with the left on this one. And, in part, you are correct. One-time shot in the arms aren't that great, but it is something. IMO: It should have been $600 - $1,000/month this whole time. Any time there's a recession/depression, the Keynesian Model works. Get money into the hands of the consumers that make less than "X" and they spend. Moving money around is what gets the economy to rebound.

Parachuting: What happens to your body during it? Many of us dream or want to parachute from very high heights, but before making this decision it is important that you read the following article and know what might happen in your body in the process. Skydiving is one of the most desirable adventures due to its mixed feelings and an exciting experience, but did you know what happens in your body during it? Flying and Human Have you ever thought about whether a human could really fly? In fact, humans were not created to fly, so if you decide to parachute, your body will react to that in an unusual way. Parachute jumping is exciting, but the process itself stimulates the feelings of fear in the human body, and it enters the stage of fight and flight, known as (fight or flight). What happens in the human body So, to make the decision to parachute, here's what might happen to your body: 1- Before parachuting When preparing for the parachute jump, you will notice a strange feeling in your bladder. When you are stressed or anxious, your body releases adrenaline, which causes an urgent feeling of urgency to urinate, and it may also be a result of the tension that your muscles feel and cause a bladder spasm. When you get on the plane towards the jumping point, your adrenal glands will start to produce a high amount of the hormone cortisol, known as the stress hormone. When you are ready to jump out of the plane, your adrenal glands will be at their fullest, and this gives you an overwhelming feeling and the urge to jump, and you will feel that time has become very slow. 2- While jumping While jumping, your speed will be about 200 kilometers per hour, and it will take a very short time to reach the surface of the earth, as several factors play a role in this, such as weight and the distance of the plane from the surface of the earth. During this, you will feel the following: Chills Your feelings are fully awake An increase in blood pressure Sweating mixed feelings. It is worth noting that these matters differ from one person to another according to his nature. 3- After landing Now that you have reached the surface of the earth, you will feel victory and self-confidence after achieving one of your dreams, and you will experience feelings of joy and comfort. Some people who experimented with skydiving indicated that they became different people afterward, and this could be for several reasons: Your ability to face your fears Prove to yourself that you are stronger than you ever imagined Strange feeling while jumping. Note that your adrenaline levels will skyrocket, so have fun during the day. Who can parachute? Of course, there are some principles that must be followed for selecting qualified persons for skydiving, and they are as follows: To be over eighteen years of age If your weight is proportional to your height, obese people cannot skydive Pregnant women cannot skydive. People with heart disease are prohibited from skydiving. Finally, do not close your eyes while jumping so you can fully live the experience!

I completely agree. Prisoners are probably the most unpopular and disregarded group in society. Behind even politicians and lawyers. But they are still our brothers and sisters.

Vaccines aren't a way to reward heroes. Vaccines are a way to stop a pandemic. Vaccinating a group of people who are indoors in tight quarters and who can't mask regularly is more important than vaccinating a group of people that can distance, mask etc - from the point of view of stopping the pandemic. If, of course, your goal is eugenics, and you hope that withholding vaccines will kill those you disfavor, AND are willing to see others die as well as a consequence of not fighting the pandemic effectively, then I guess your plan could make sense. Fortunately our pandemic response does not take that approach.

Check yourself, my brain is working just fine and I studied the ethics and pragmatics of this in medical school. We don’t assign vaccine priority based on a moral judgment of how “good” you are and the vaccine is not an “attaboy” for valiant service. It is quite simply not a factor. If the doctors and federal judges tell you you’re doing healthcare wrong, you should really stop and evaluate how “logical” your argument really is. You use the word twice but fail to apply the concept.

Hi Doug, I am one who really, really wants to keep the national debt as low as possible. I even support raising taxes to actually pay it down ( blasphemy to most politicians ). However, these are no where near 'normal times.' It is time to step up to the plate and do what we can to help our people & our economy. Jerry Baumchen

I'm not sure how to answer this drivel without a PA. So I guess my best bet is to just let people read it and draw their own conclusion about you.

I agree. It is more than good enough to reduce Re below 1 (which is the goal.) IF we did not have enough vaccine for everyone (which is not the case) then it would make a lot of sense to give everyone one dose, because 80% immunity is also enough to get Re below 1. To put it another way, we would be better off having the population be 80% (on average) immune from one dose, rather than the population be 55% immune (on average) due to a combination of fully vaccinated people and people with natural immunity only. However, since we WILL have enough vaccine for everyone, our best bet is to go full speed with vaccinating everyone we can with the vaccine we have.

Great article! I remember my first jump...and those emotions & feelings after landing....happiest day of my life. Looking forward to my first comeback jump. "“Once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return.”

Nope. What we do to the least among us says more about us than it does them. (and convicted criminals are pretty least). Because it’s the exemplification of “all men are created equal,” “punishment should fit the crime,” and “innocent until proven guilty.” If we go by the “fuck the guilty,” then it’s a much shorter step to “he needed killing,” and “why should we pay for lawyers.” And those are important. Then why are you concerned about driving long distance? If time is valuable, there are much faster ways to cover 2,000 miles than driving.

Off topic, but when I lived in Cambridge, the Cambridge phone book listing was, consecutively: Kahn, Richard Kaldor, Nikolas Kallend, John Kaldor was also a prominent Keynesian economics professor (Cambridge was full of them, of course).

But you just love shopping there for cheap Chinese imports the other 29 day's each month? You don't need to go there at all, you know, even if it's so close and so convenient. Just hop in the ol' gas guzzler and head for any Mom and Pop joint. Sure, it'll cost more and might also not be exactly what you want and, yes, your monthly expenses will go up. But you will be buying American, supporting your local economy and warming a cold hearted planet with more CO2. Best of all you'll be acting in conformance with your beliefs. Wouldn't that be fun?

It's just damn sad, really. Anyone can be educated. Having the faculties to do something with it, regardless of your surroundings or peers, is the trick apparently. Biden said there are “things you can’t do by executive order unless you are a dictator. We’re a democracy, we need consensus.” The right wing echo chamber blew it all out of proportion and then shaped it into another conservative false narrative. I don't know which is more maddening, is it that these things are so easily checked or is it that so many are duped again and again and still don't doubt their own sources?

Over a year of covid so far... At this point $1000 is jack shit for a year of hell. In the end, that money is not going to do any value to anyone. What exactly is a grand going to do? help pay a few weeks of rent on a contract that is already 6+ months behind on rent? the time for congress to act is LOOOOOONG gone. Like 10 months long gone. The effort would be better put into extending unemployment benefits. That way at least you know it's going to people who dont have jobs and need it.

Rough sledding, sorry for that, for the passengers in the bus but at least now we know when you first started thinking about EV's. I'm gonna start googling but if it turns out that EV's have wood fired heaters I'm bailing on the entire green thing.

Warren Buffett says 'I'm a Democrat,'. Warren Buffett doesn't think the rich in America are paying enough in taxes. “The wealthy are definitely undertaxed relative to the general population,” he told CNBC's Becky Quick during an interview on “Squawk Box” on Monday. ... His solution: Expand the earned income tax credit, which benefits people with low incomes.Feb 26, 2019

Getting that first question asked is really important. It's even worth seeding the audience, or bringng up a question the instructor had when they were a student, or getting everyone to think about a question they have about skydiving before the class starts. Because once the first question is asked, it gets easier. Other characteristics include remembering this is much more about the student -- no one cares how badass a swooper or whatever the instructor is. Also, reminding the student that it's OK not to remember everything (no one does), and that each just isn't a single step, it's simply a group of instructional goals, and that not completing all of the goals on a singe jump is normal -- it's not like failing a grade. Farther on, getting the student to think ahead of time about what they're going to focus on/be most aware of helps. If too many new things happen, then the whole jump is lost to sensory overload. Watch Kinesthesia, The Art of Body Flight by Norman Kent and Guy Manos. It gives a progression of skills necessary to acquire before jumping with another new jumper. As mentioned by @wmw999, you can acquire these skills in a wind tunnel faster than you can making individual skydives. Unlinked exits are particularly tricky and I recommend you exit as shown in the video, but, only AFTER going through the program with an experienced skydiver mentor/coach/instructor.

I remember you an I discussing trump's fascist, criminal nature prior to the 2016 election. I've always been of the opinion that the most culpable are the instigators, the leaders. Of all the people who have lasted the longest in the WH one person stands out: "In the run-up to the 2016 election, White House senior policy adviser Stephen Miller promoted white nationalist literature, pushed racist immigration stories and obsessed over the loss of Confederate symbols after Dylann Roof’s murderous rampage, according to leaked emails reviewed by Hatewatch." Miller shares link from white nationalist site Miller recommends ‘Camp of the Saints’ to Breitbart McHugh says Miller told her to aggregate from American Renaissance Confederate flag removals upset Miller after church murders Miller focuses on racial identity of killer with ‘alt-right’ beliefs Miller says he reached out to anti-Muslim extremist Pamela Geller Miller forwards Infowars link to aid McHugh’s reporting Miller backs immigration policies Hitler once praised Miller posits conspiracy theories about immigration Exploring Miller’s reported ties to white nationalist figures

so in order for me to find out about a dropzone having a special event that involves lower cost jump tickets, they need to spend money to advertise here? what if the dropzone doesnt have that kind of money to spend? on the other hand, i understand you are offering this site up for free to us and it has a lot of valuable information. but at the same time, you seem to have enough companies that see much larger profits than smaller dropzones, especially clubs that just barely turn enough profit to keep the business running. .-.
