While I was creating a reply post, the "there are new replies to this thread" popup came up (i.e. as I hit the "reply" button, quote had been selected). When I completed my post, I hit the "Submit" button, with seemingly no result. So I hit it again, with the same seemingly no result. However, there are now duplicate posts, and the new format does not give me the ability to delete posts. I'm on MS Edge. Wendy P.

I had the most awesome first skydive experience a year ago, and it encouraged me to start skydiving which I did! I definitely owe it to my instructor for making it a memorable experience. I have my A license now and was thinking about adding my first tandem instructor on Facebook to tell him, but do you guys think it’s a little weird? Tandem instructors, have you ever heard back from old customers?

Are you late to the party? Or early to the next one? Over reacting? Maybe it will seem so when the death toll fails to reach 0.5% of the population. Which is only 1.5 million people in the US. The economy is going to suffer if we continue over reacting. The economy is going to suffer even more if we don't and the death toll doubles or triples. This is a world changing event. It sucks, but there it is.

It is worrying that all the candidates are so damn old. Any one of Biden, Sanders, Warren, Bloomberg would be the oldest president ever, right after the oldest president ever. You'd have thought that social media would make it easier for younger politicians to raise their profiles enough to have a chance but the opposite seems to be happening. Strange.

Rand Paul is an important man. And it's most important that people be reminded over and over again just what an important man Rand Paul is. Just ask Rand Paul.

That is simply a ridiculous but typical right wing nonsense statement. The police protect you, the fire department protects you, our military protects you. Also, outside of when conservatives get power the EPA, CDC, etc. etc.. protects you. FEMA protects you from starving or freezing to death after a hurricane. Your statement implies, for example, that unless FEMA could prevent hurricanes they are a useless government waste. That is the problem with the right wing world view.

I found a related reference from 1918. 1918 was also the year the 101st Airborne Division was organized.

Bride, bribe either way Trump buys and sells everything in his life. Even with the small editing error normiss is correct.

A couple years ago I started a thread about what trump was doing right. After a couple replies it died out due to lack of supporting facts. About a week ago I posted that trump was right in using low oil prices to fill up the national strategic petroleum reserve. Damnit.... I made another mistake I fell for your lure again..!...

Good morning Ron. Nice to hear from you. I was wondering when you would pop up with some fresh version of your ideology. No, this is not SHTF. This is a global pandemic. SHTF is a code word for a white nationalist fantasy about a race war that will divide your country and be the start of a white only homeland. This is not that. Nor is it the judgement. And God is not going to Rapture anyone, so you don't have to worry about being left behind for not being good enough at following Jesus. She didn't Rapture the Earth over the 1919 pandemic and She will not do it this time either. I know because an Angel appeared before me and told me so. Just the same, you can never be safe enough. So I strongly suggest that your clan continue to stock pile more and more ammo. But try to get it shipped to you so that you can avoid the filthy hoards up in Chattanooga. I know your first instinct is to head up there to volunteer to help out as much as you can because that is what a real Christian would do. But at your age please don't do that. Stay safe and whatever you do try to be near a keyboard and an connection to the outside world.

I know the feeling. I get the odd win, but that just makes me overconfident for a while till I error again. That's why I keep most of my savings in a hands off professionally managed fund and only play with a smaller portion.

Is that much worse in a woman than it is in a man? She was a top student at a very good university, in the early days of militant feminism. She was sold the bill of goods that if she worked hard enough and was qualified, she could aspire to anything. Then she married, and stayed active professionally. Finally she even had to give up her name because Arkansas politics. She’s First Lady and people hate her because she’s prepared and uncompromising about wanting more than “cookies.” She wasn’t happy with the leavings. Which of you guys would be happy with the leavings, knowing you were as smart as anyone else there? After Clinton left office, she moved to NY state and ran for Senate, again for profile, and because she still knows that if you’re in the right place at the right time and you’re prepared, good things happen. And she still has to take the leavings. Yeah, they’re good leavings. Eleanor Roosevelt did way more with fewer leavings. i don’t envy her; she’s a product of her time and environment as much as anyone else. But she did everything “right,” and never understood that it’s just not always enough. Wendy P.

Do you really think they’re still the majority in actual numbers? Or does it only seem that way because they’re the default authority from 250 years of socialization? If they were really in the majority, why all the need to gerrymander changing states like Texas? Wendy P.

I don't mind if students friend request me, especially if they were part of a group that is memorable for one reason or another. Sometimes students wait around for weather, etc, and you get to interact with them longer than usual. Your situation sounds like something the instructor would be stoked to hear about.

Do it. Personally I would be delighted to hear that you did a tandem with me and now you're a qualified skydiver.

I did tandem videos a couple of years ago and I have some of the passengers on facebook. I did a tandem in 2009, with 3 friends of mine in a small dropzone in Portugal. 9 years later, after I moved to Germany and started jumping on my own, and I made ~800 jumps, I saw one of the tandem masters on facebook and I added him. I thought it would be cool for him to know that one of his passengers is now jumping often somewhere else.
