jsaxton replied to JENNR8R's topic in The Bonfire
I got kicked out of High School 5 times, does that count? -
Well said! When I was a kid we used to ride around in the beds of pickup trucks. OMFG my aunt should be doing life for child endangerment!

I attended the BigWay camp at Perris this last October and the Advanced Big Way Camp in Eloy in November. I Cannot recommend these camps enough, besides learning a TON, you will have a great time :) At these camps you will learn: Zero momentum docks Correct Stadium approach Correct Radial approach Sheep dogging Tracking groups ...and a ton of other stuff. Sign up and have fun.

When you're in the trail plane and can't feel any throttling on setup, that's what I call a good pilot!

How did fate introduce you to the love of your life ?
jsaxton replied to TheBile's topic in The Bonfire
We met in a bar -
2:4:0 4 jumps at Perris doing 38ways. On the 4th jump we went to altitude got the green light and climbed out. After about a minute we had still not seen feet on the lead AC and climbed back in. Mark had to haul the camera flyer back in so I went out again front float to block wind. We later descended to 9K and made two passes of speed stars just to get out. To top it all off I had diving line twists on deployment.

Make sure that you have tcp/ip enabled on all the computers. If memory serves me correctly, the default network protocol pre-200 was netbios. If you really get stuck send me an IM, after all, I owe you for the Physics lesson ;)

If you were out of the sport for a while....

3 months out Broken ankle. when I came back I upsized for one jump then it was back to normal -
So it sounds like the REALLY important things to know are: 1) the AC heading 2) Winds aloft at opening altitude [eply] OK, back to my question: measured WHERE? The only distance that matters is the one at opening altitude, and you can't measure that while still in the plane.
