  1. Yes they are and a few councils have been caught out in Scotland. Where it was noticed by people and bodies that Edinburgh city council where intentionally setting the sequences out to delay traffic, so causing traffic jams and back ups ? on their roads. Think this was to try and justify them introducing traffic charging into the city . They hate car users and always have (stuck up dicks), they have wanted people to only use public transport in their city. Its political move by silly people who are not interesting in the people they represent. You just have to look at the latest fiasco, with them trying to introduce a tram system into the centre. quite frankly they should all be sacked for their failure, they have lumbered the local tax payers with a heavy burden when it comes to their council taxes. Not me i stopped shopping in Edinburgh when it became obvious they didn't want my car so they where not getting my business (that was about 15 years ago). On another Note regarding roundabouts. I have lived where i am from 1976 in what was then, a New town and basically we had no sets of traffic lights it was all roundabouts
  2. yes well that happens here when its a bit wild here, up north we are used to it. find it a bit funny when people from down south Moan about the white stuff appearing Friend just got his Landrover out last years and drove it through the deep stuff to stranded drivers on the M8 with tea blankets and a smile, No one asked him he did it of his own back for me it just means fun
  3. Ok when do you want stuffed old boy use a Dyson round the house works a treat
  4. Far too many people forget that skydiving is a recreational activity. All they can see is what’s in it for “me”. What can I do to get free jumps, free gear and anything else free? Things that use to be free to a new jumper now have a price tag on it. There are even rules in place to prevent other wise qualified, experienced jumpers from jumping with new jumper for free. The same thing happened to skiing about 20 years ago and today you can’t get out of the parking lot with being charged for something. Skydiving has lost it’s soul and many of the things that bound jumpers together. Sparky Quiet frankly Sparky i sadly agree with what you said and wish it was different. I got to do the silly stuff like funky exits with more experienced people than me that made learning fun which kept me in it. By the looks to it the wheels have come off that happy bubble. Joel yes but that's their choice Joel, nobody forced them to give stuff up. I am Sure you have had the same experience as me when learning and been lucky enough to have been helped By coaches who didn't always charge but seen it was for a way for them to help fellow jumpers get ahead by either free advice or jumping on their own ticket. Sadly i have noticed over the last few years to a certain degree that's been steadily been declining as more experienced people have been leaving in the UK for one reason or another and its having a real detrimental effect to Uk jumping mate. 5. That perhaps explains a lot i don't spend much time on this site these days and its doesn't represent all the jumpers in the UK. Then they are wondering why they perhaps have a problem with retention at the Bpa , Its not rocket science they are basically taking all the fun out of jumping in the Uk and the Bpa ops manual online is still not changed. For all you guys wanting a look at it either pdf or word click here Billy-Sonic Haggis Flickr-Fun
  6. You must have missed the BPA's official "clarification" which basically says that no you can't unless the other guys are coaches. so the Bpa ops manual is out of date or been failed to be updated as per NB1 in section 6.4 thats a bit lax on their part Correct. Although the BPA insist the ops manual has only been "misinterpreted" and therefore doesn't need updating. think that sound pretty busllS*^t mate and has this been brought before council ? 8. not pathetic understandable you just need practice. Billy-Sonic Haggis Flickr-Fun
  9. Actually mate you can do more than solo's at being A-license in the UK, you just need to jump with others who have a Fs1. There is only one non fs1 allowed on a jump with others as long as they have it your ok
  10. My weekend consisted of photography All urban exploring avoiding detection while taking my pictures and leaving the same way 2 brickwork's which are dead now one where the directors, basically cut the feet from under the workforce but they are ok. As they had a deal to sell the land to developers after laying of the workforce ............Charming And a old Mental asylum that has seen better days was my first night solo explore all alone, so it always has a special place for me event though my friend is a industrial nut he appreciated the designed brickwork and construction methods used well he is a bloody Architect by profession so i should think so These where my original pictures from my first explore and a good one for Halloween This was my 1st impression all alone http://www.flickr.com/photos/9483441@N07/1770936756/ Twin towers under moonlight http://www.flickr.com/photos/9483441@N07/1770952218/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/9483441@N07/1770121285/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/9483441@N07/1770977378/ sky at night http://www.flickr.com/photos/9483441@N07/1770941296/ Inside the only accessible tower as the clock tower was gutted inside by Fire this is a wind directional tower
  11. damn mate i now your pain well of being grounded been about 6 months from my accident and i had now weight bearing for about 4.5 of those months no physio just sitting with my foot up and wires in me foot god that was dull Now recovery time with the pins out and its all going great but i noticed now the swelling has gone down and i can put weight on it. I had to ask my plastic consultant why to point my right foot forward My knee was turning in other wise it kind of goes points slightly to the right Turned out during the collision i lost a lot of bone they couldn't save on that side but otherwise i should be fine as no pain just bloody time and god am i pushing it I don't tell them all the silly shit i do or they would have a fir Billy-Sonic Haggis Flickr-Fun
  12. Me i just like normal ones to be honest but there does seam to be a lack of them in the Uk as hardly seen any in the shops this week. Or the ones i did see are mini me's not worth the money Billy-Sonic Haggis Flickr-Fun
  13. pretty much the same i prefer to let my Bodies natural immune system take things on. not been one to take much in way way of medicine. Even following my motorbike accident where i almost lost my right foot. Came off pain killers as fast as i could along with other medication Not the prettiest body you will see but i have a engine built up over last 20 years hiking and walking that's kept me going. Which i probably why my plastic surgeon orthopedic surgeons and physios are all well bloody surprised at how quick i am recovering. Walking now as i chucked my crutches as quickly as i can get shot of them my physio is now trying to get me in extra classes in the gym to work on the ankle and toes flexibility as well as rebuild the muscle wastage in some cases i believe drugs can slow you down recovery wise as now we tend, i think to take to many. let you r body do what its. Think one of the reasons i haven't had a cold or flu for years is i have been exposed to some tough conditions a number of times but just let my body recover itself and let my immune system get a good workout in the process
  14. Very few burger kings across here in the Uk more Ronald bloody McDonald's i have never purchased more that fries from them. Not a burger fan to be honest but since i had my accident my taste buds are all over the place. Got a local Canadian guy at out local supermarket who sells your style of Hot dogs . In other word big enough for a coronary but they are popular. My son loves them perhaps i should try them myself. Was quite picky eater prior to my accident but since ..................anything basically goes , god had pea and ham soup last week i hated peas all my life with a passion Billy-Sonic Haggis Flickr-Fun
  15. Used to get it due to asthma being bad at one time, that was over 8 years ago though. Basically stopped smoking when i took up skydiving. Which relieved my asthma to the point i no longer needed any inhalers and was taken off the "at risk register here as well

  19. I used to think there was problem with that side of the states as at one time we used to get these adds running in Scotland, advertising it was a great place to live and we should move . First thing i thought was why the hell did every one move out or something ! Billy-Sonic Haggis Flickr-Fun

  21. Yes i have made mistakes in my life do i regret them no and why ?,there are a number of reasons for this. Perhaps it basically goes back to the way My parents raised me ?. Stand on your own to feet and roll with it. Get on with life its too damn short to cry over spilled milk, that and they helped shaped who i am Christ. Learn from mistakes is about it, and enjoy life. As you get older you do realize there is more to life than money, I have kids anyway they spend it for me Live life how you want to live it, not how other wish you to live
