does anyone know what the minimum speeds ever attained by a wingsuit are? both horizontal and vertical. I am sure the best birdmen in the world can get the vertical speed down into the 30's (just guessing). I cant imagine the horizontal speed getting much slower than the 70's or so (once again, just a guess)..doesnt seem possible looking at those numbers anyone have this info?

I'm curious..why is this question focusing on a premature reserve... versus a premature main?

I have only done 4 wingsuit jumps but they got me thinking about something....I did them out of a Casa, freakin unbelievable experience...there was nothing like standing on that tailgate after the tandems went and just watching the plane get further and further away before jumping, we must have been miles away when we left the plane. Now i know the typical call for a pilot is to announce jumpers away to let nearby aircraft know skydivers will be in the sky...this is generally in the immediate vicinity of the airport...what, if any precautions or announcements are made when wingsuit flyers get out way far away from the airport? Seems like the odds of coming f2f with another aircraft are increased substantially in this situation???

Let her fry. All these stays of execution do is cost the taxpayer gobs of money. That is what the appeal process is for throughout the entire course of their imprisonment. If she hasnt been found innocent by now then quit coming up with excuses just to keep her alive. are you sure the aad fired the reserve? Doesnt seem like he would have enough speed for that to happen since the main was out???

they are jumping a cessna on weekends while they loan their otter out for the winter....very small freefly crowd....pretty much nonexistant except for me and a buddy of mine when we are there and maybe 1 or two other people....awesome facilities...they are busting their ass to grow the business in time for the spring... they are 35 minutes from my house...i hope they survive!

I'm not sure you worded the question right, but I think I know what you're asking since you said 'it's not 90' It's early, and I've only had 1 cup of coffee - but to go 2 miles and average 60mph, it'd have to be done in 2 minutes. It'll take that long to go 1 mile @ 30. yep...you got it..impressive.

You have a 1 mile circular race track. A car averages 30 mph around the first lap. What speed does it need to average around the second lap in order for the average of the two laps to be 60mph? Hint - its not 90mph.

Theres been some talk recently about various canopies and injuries being caused by openings....Keep in mind I have always jumped a Sabre so I cant speak to all canopies.... Seems to me that the canopy type or manufacturer has no bearing on how it opens. Doesnt this all have to do with the way it was packed and body position? I dont understand how a canopy can just out of the blue "Whack" you. There has got to be a reason besides "well, that particular canopy just sometimes does that"...perhaps the nose wasnt rolled enough, or the slider wasnt properly put in place or the body positioning at opening was somehow off....It seems like we should be in total control as to how our canopies open based on how we pack them.....but then again, that is just my opinion...So what do you think?
