  1. I never post on here, but whatever... I totally agree with this. I photograph really well, ummm, too well. I'm definitely a cute girl, but some of my pictures make me look like I'm way hotter than I really am. So I always avoid posting really good pictures even if it is me untouched. You just can't win, I guess :-P
  2. I have surfed and hosted many times. I exercise logic and reason in my choices of hosts and guests and have had no problems whatsoever. It has been the single most fun/awesome/inspiring experience in years.
  3. I put my stuff on the curb and then include my address in the ad. As soon as I see that the goods have been picked up, I remove my address from the ad and add the the word "GONE" to the title. I do this to avoid the exact nonsense that you speak of.
  4. No one ever understands it, but I will randomy say to people "Listen, Billy Pilgrim has come unstuck in time". I don't know why that particular line stuck with me. I just finished 1001 Nights in the Iraqi Army by Shant Kenderian. It's the best book I've read in a couple of years.
  5. I highly recommend it, however, it is well known that Stevia has an aftertaste. You can avoid this by buying high quality stevia. The cheap stuff usually has alcohol in it, which is the source of the aftertaste. The good stuff is expensive, but worth it.
  6. I've never been cause I'm not into the kind of music that ACL showcases, however, I know a lot of people that are and they love it. If you like the lineup, I highly recommend it. Plus, Austin is just a really cool town. There's a ton of stuff to do here, especially for the outdoorsy types. There is one band playing this year that I'm sad to miss and that's Built to Spill. Oh well, I'm sure they'll be back.
  7. She rows at "Texas"? Do you mean UT? I row at Austin Rowing Club. UT is just down the river from us. We have a group going to the Head of the Charles this year. I've elected not to go to that one and have instead decided to go to the closer races so that I can do more of them. Also, Head of the Charles is extremely competitive and I'm simply too novice to go. Plus, I'm sure I wouldn't get chosen due to my size.
  8. I've been rowing a bit over a year and never had the experience of college rowing. I row on a women's competitive team and am concentrating on single and double sculling. The club has lots of sweep rowing too. Right now I'm getting geared up for the head races. I'm training for the longer rows, which I actually prefer to the sprints. I think Head of the Hooch is 4500 meters? The only thing I don't like about rowing is that it sucks being small. I think there needs to be a featherweight class! I'd like to cox more, but am scared that I'll get pegged as a cox and never get to row again.
  9. There are other rowers? Cool!!! I love it so much that I'm saving my money for regattas rather than jumping. I'm thinking about doing the marathon in Natchitoches this year, but really want to do the Head of the Hooch in Atlanta this year. Is that the regatta you are talking about?
  10. There's a rollergirl league here in Austin and it's a pretty big deal. They get tons of press. Also, I hear those girls are ROUGH. People love it though; they're treated like rock stars.
  11. I always tell people that if I could be fed intravenously and never have to deal with the hassle of food, my life would be greatly improved.
  12. I live in Austin and am a non-smoker, but unfortunately, was out of town for the vote. In any case, I spend a lot of time in bars seeing live music so I'm interested to see how it will affect the venues that I frequent as well as the music scene. Honestly, I'm not even sure how I feel about the smoking ban. While I believe in my right not to have to inhale that bullshit, I also know that I can choose not to go to those places, but I choose to accept the risk and go anyway. Sorry to hear that this will negatively affect your income
  13. I just finished getting my license at Texas Skydiving Center. I've primarily seen tandems and AFF students there.
  14. - jicama and salsa - apple/celery or anything crunchy with nut butter. The high fat content in nut butters makes this a pretty filling snack (peanut butter, almond butter, macadamia butter, etc) - trail mix
