I agree that no one should mandate whether or not you have to wear a helmet or not, but i always told myself that if there was no helmet law i would still wear a helmet. No offense to people who choose not to, but i do think it is pretty stupid not to wear one. Such a simple piece of equipment that can save your life or even better, prevent you from becoming a vegetable. Fuck all the zen shit, I'm wearing a helmet.

I have always worn full faced helmets. I have been hit in the face by rocks, rubber from tires blowing out on cars and by bugs that left more splattered guts on my visor than you could imagine. This buddy of mine who is addicted to working out said it would take at least a million bucks for him to walk away from the gym and never go back. He says anything less would not make up for the pleasure he gets from working out. With that said, seeing that we are all pretty much the equivelant of crack addicts I am curious to know how much cash it would take to get you to walk away from the sport. Assuming this is hard cold cash in a suitcase placed right in front of you. Keep in mind if you answer 50K that means you would walk away from 10K, 100K means you would walk away from 50K, etc.... Once accepted there is no looking back, never able to go back again, thats it...you are done, no association with the sport whatsoever.

Very well put, assholism (yes, i made that word up) is blind to skin color. Thought crossed my mind with football now being back in swing. My original post talked about prime time tv and the miller lite fiasco. How about NFL football..talk about getting a fair shot, can anyone name the last time football had a star white running back? I dont bitch about this because I realize that perhaps the better athletes happen to be black. Fine by me. Also, what about the fact that nfl teams are now mandated to interview at least one black person when searching for a head coach. Why does skin color have anything to do with who gets the coaching position? My point is that sometimes some people are just more qualified for what they do, if they happen to be black..so be it, if they happen to be white, so be it. Skin color should have absolutely nothing to do with anything.

Once again, my opinion, and it is just my opinion is that alot of people here are getting caught up in the drama of this thread. I really dont think these guys have an impact on newbies being turned off by the world of skydiving, and if so, who cares, perhaps that person should have done a little more diligence. I guess next time I use a travel agent i should get pissed off when standing in line at the airport because the guy next to me got his ticket 50 bucks cheaper going through some other channel? Unless you can prove to me that this company is directly causing harm to you by using your photos or cheating you out of any compensation that is due by using your photos then i just dont understand the problem. I bet if an editor at parachutist swiped one of your photos and put it in an upcoming issue without asking you probably wouldnt care. If they came back and asked permission to use the photos would that make everything better?

I am still a little confused why you people are upset about this operation? I can kinda understand the people that have had their photos used w/o permission being bothered a little bit. But even in those cases is it really such a big deal? Not trying to be an ass or anything but it seems a little petty to me. Is it because they charge more for providing a service? Not sure i understand the issue there either. They are a middleman, there are all kinds of businesses that have layers of people involved, everyone needs to make money at some point. If they are in fact advertising dz's that have specifically said they do not want to participate then that is wrong. That is something the DZO should address. I don't think a picture has to be copyrighted, if I took the picture, it is mine, and you will have to ask for permission to use it. If nobody asked Brent for permission to use his pictures, it is copyright infringement. Looks like they took a lot of pictures from Jussi Laine and Mark Lichtle as well.. If a picture is not copyrighted then how can it be copyright infringement???

Are we certain that the pictures on the site are copyrighted photos? I understand people getting pissy about their pictures being used w/o their permission but unless the picture has been copyrighted (which i bet they have not) then there is nothing to stop someone from using it.

Why would they contact network solutions? They are simply the registrar of the domain name. Network solutions is not a hosting company. Their site is being hosted by Interland as you can see by the record above. Interland is a very large well known hosting company that will shut down services if a company is doing something illegal. No, they are not in any trouble according to the info above. Registar lock is simply a service registrars offer to prevent whois info from getting changed. However, i dont see that these guys are doing anything wrong. They are running a business. Thats it. I have even thought about selling tandem jumps to whuffos, not so much for the money, more so to get free jumps at my dz. These guys simply have chosen to make money from it. So what?
