  1. About a year ago i was mugged at gun point and ended up getting shot in the right thigh. Luckily for me the guy had crappy ammo and the bullet missed all the important stuff like femur, ateries etc and it went in one side and out the other. I was admitted to hospital on the Saturday night, had my stitches out the following week and had a physio session a day after that. Against the Doc's advice i jumped the very next saturday. Granted i was on student status, desperate to finish AFF and still flying huge canopies which were really forgiving on the landings. There is no chance i'd do that today. Like the other guys said, take it easy, rest up and get well. The sport will always be there for you. (Even if the desire to be in the sky is eating you up!) Sending vibes your way.

  4. Nice one guys and gals, you've inspired all of us to push our own limits even further!
  5. Shaft is cool. Oh sorry not that kind of brother! Ha ha, just kidding. That's super cool dude. Gonna have to think of getting my sister one for her birthday later this year. She's done one static line jump but i'd dig her to experience free fall! Advertisio Rodriguez / Sky
  6. That rocks! It's also one of the reasons i want a tandem rating in the future, my mom has said that the only time she will get in the air is if it's with me! Advertisio Rodriguez / Sky
  7. He he he. I played with them lots this weekend and thankfully all my face had when i landed this time was a smile! Advertisio Rodriguez / Sky
  8. And how will we be spending our freedom day? Being free of course! Free of our past, free from work and free in the sky.
  9. "Get in the Spruce Moose Smithers!" The Simpsons, not a movie but hey...
  10. Just an update for everyone that replied to this thread previously. We did the opera on Saturday night and for want of a better word: WOW! It was amazing. My date and i sat slack jawed for three hours watching some of the most unbelievable performances i've ever seen. I had goose bumps through most of it and i finally understand why people are so moved by it. Thanks again for the advice, i can't wait to go to another one. blues PJ Advertisio Rodriguez / Sky
  11. I've been dreaming about it the whole week and at last it's here! See you there
  12. Hmmm, not sure what you paid for it but even with our notoriously weak Rand it worked out to the price of a normal DVD over here. I'm sure it left everyone wanting more though. The BASE stuff is ultra cool, love the Reunion Island footage in the "Iron Hole", that gets lots of play in my player. Either way i reckon the vid's a keeper and never fails to wow skydivers and whuffos. (Yes i'm a huge fan of Loic's antics ) blues PJ Advertisio Rodriguez / Sky
  13. Sean, I ordered mine from flyyourbody.com as well and they had it to me quickly and efficiently. The only problem is that every time i check the site it's still all in French, dunno if they've got the translated version up and running yet. But here's some handy info courtesy of cpoxon: From the front page, select DVD from the "....... rayons ......" drop-down selection box Click the "Ajouter au panier" to place the DVD in your basket Click "Commander" to order You'll need to register to order. So select the "Je veux créer un compte client" option to create a new account Fill in your details: Nom - Surname Prenom - First name Addresse - Address Code Postal - Post/Zip code Pays - Country (US is Etats-Unis :-P) Mot de passe - Password Confirmation - confirm password Next is the address form with your details filled in with an opportunity to enter a separate delivery address. At the bottom is payment options, bank card is automatically selected. There is also a cheque option but I don't know about this as I used a credit card. I also chose normal delivery ("livraison") Click "Règler" Click the icon identifying your sort of credit card, CA, Visa or Mastercard. Enter your card number and expiry date in the boxes and click "Valider" to validate. All being well, your order should be placed. Or just droo them a mail at [email protected] Enjoy the flick, it's well tight! PJ Advertisio Rodriguez / Sky
  14. Ah another fan of National Cleavage day, it's nice huh? I had the pleasure of meeting Nick at our DZ on Saturday and i must say that Salomon suit is very pretty! Take it easy man, hope you enjoy the rest of your time here in SA. PJ Advertisio Rodriguez / Sky
  15. Hey, Here's a handy tip incase you do end up getting badly sun burned and find yourself a mile away from a decent tube of aftersun. Make a big ol' jug of tea. Take a few tea bags, add ice and water and apply it gently to the burned skin. It'll take the sting out and stop you peeling. Trust me it works
  16. Bastard... NOTHING excuses blatant cruelty like that Advertisio Rodriguez / Sky
  17. *sings in homer Simpson voice* "I am so smart, i am so smart, s-m-r-t! Doh!" Very sneaky posting them in decending order, veeeeeery sneaky! Advertisio Rodriguez / Sky
  18. Absolutely amazing photos!! Did you know that the fifth photo is actually a dolphin? They're so cool. One of the most amazing experiences i've ever had was being that close to six of them in the water once. EDITED TO STOP ME LOOKING LIKE A DUMBASS Advertisio Rodriguez / Sky
  19. It's something i wanted to do for as long as i can remember. I'm talking since i was five or so. I can't remember where i first saw it or where the urge came from - i only know it's been inside me for what seems like forever. And every new year since i turned sixteen i'd say, right, THIS is the year. But i never did anything about it, i always thought it was a difficult thing to get in to (i had no idea it was as simple as calling an instructor and booking a jump ) Then one December a long time jumping friend said right, here's the number, call and book it! The rest as they say, is history
  20. I'm a huge fan of this little gem from Hunter S Thompson: "I hate to advocate drugs, alcohol, or insanity to anyone, but they've always worked for me. " Otherwise i have no comment. I voted tho. Advertisio Rodriguez / Sky
  21. NOW you're talking my language! Beer followed by a good whiskey. Glenfiddich or Famous Grouse will do. But to stay on topic, I'm a huge Guiness fan, also Killkenny and of course Heineken. Advertisio Rodriguez / Sky
  22. Thailand is one crazy place. And insanely beautiful. White sand, blue water and despite The Beach's influence it's still possible to visit islands with NOTHING on them. Laos is pretty unbelievable as well. Advertisio Rodriguez / Sky
