  5. Hey, I've been jumping my Z1 Evo since i came off student status and i must admit that i have loved every jump with it. I jumped an instructors bonehead and that was sweet too, somehow i just preferred the Z1. It fits really snug, the dytter pockets are great and it's nice and quiet. Oh and it protected my melon just fine on my first downwinder the other day safe skies Advertisio Rodriguez / Sky
  6. You might even wanna photograph your gear individually for insurance purposes Advertisio Rodriguez / Sky
  7. Hey man, i own a pro-dytter as do most of the people on my home DZ (most others wear protracks). As far as i'm concerned you can't go wrong with the dytter but if you have the extra cash, spend it on a pro-track. The added bonus of being able to electronically log jumps is well worth it. Just my two cents. peace Advertisio Rodriguez / Sky
  8. Sweet colour schemes both of you!! Hey Pawl, do you have any idea what's happeneing with SA boogies in Dec? Planning on hitting the Margate boogie and doing some jumps at the new DZ near DBN. Advertisio Rodriguez / Sky

  16. I was just chatting to a friend of mine about AAD's and he reckons there's a new AAD called a Vigil on the market - apparently the Golden Knights and the French national team are endorsing them (?) Does anyone jump one? Or know of a homepage? I'd like to find out more. Safe skies and many thanks Advertisio Rodriguez / Sky

  19. Hey guys and gals, Was checking out the PD site a few minutes ago and under the videos section i came across a promo for a DVD called "soul flyers". 20. Dude, as far as i'm concerned there are two rules to follow when buying your first set of gear. 1. DON'T get pushed into downsizing too quickly. and 2. Brand new gear ain't always the best route to go. (us new jumpers tend to smudge a few landings - it hurts more on brand new gear ) Like Dave said, talk to your instructors and other experienced jumpers who have watched you fly and land a canopy, they'll give the best advice as to what size main and reserve you should buy. Watch your wingloading. After talking to my CI i've just bought a used Mirage G3, a 170 Hornet with a 150 reserve. Now all i need is a cypres. Decide on which route you want to go too. If you want to free fly, make sure you get a free fly safe container. Then go have fun Advertisio Rodriguez / Sky
  21. I had my first mal about two weeks ago on jump number 32. As far as i'm concerned this was a fairly tame mal as i was under a canopy i couldn't steer. Am i glad i've had my first cutaway? Yes. Has it increased my confidence? Yes. However i believe that what you put into skydiving is what you get out. Be prepared, practice your reserve drills in the plane, on the ground, in bed at night and even in the shower. But don't ever arrive at the DZ or get in the plane thinking: "is this gonna be the one?" Positive thinking breeds good jumping. peace Advertisio Rodriguez / Sky
  22. I'm not sure about free jumps but if you think about it, most people who work as camera fliers, aff instructors and tandem masters have their jumps paid for. Of course they're still working and damn hard too. Being on back to back loads, etc all day can't be easy. blues Advertisio Rodriguez / Sky
