  3. Can't believe there's another one that I'm missing . On the plus side I was sitting in my garden in a bikini yesterday
  4. My Comments: I know you tried to cover your bases, but there is a risk that different instructors use different hand signals. I know some who use a fist to indicate arching, and you're showing that as a pull signal. I don't think you should change the programme significantly, however any DZ including it in their programme should be aware of what you have included to prevent confusion. The loading of the freefall manoeuvers took a little longer than the other bits, presumably as the graphic is more detailed. If there is some way you can include a 'loading' message it would prevent other impatient people like me from thinking it's broken. In your FAQ you refer to the 120 day repack cycle. In different countries this varies, and although adding them all wouldn't necessarily be the easiest thing to do or maintain, it may be worth adding that in the US the cycle is 120 days. I love the way the stick men in the menu move
  5. Chocolate herbs?? tell me more, never heard of anything like that
  6. two sisters, one older, one younger, both married. I'm the black sheep of the family, but only technically as I know they do all love me and are just jealous that I'm still young and free in my mid-thirties!
  7. looks like something over Gotham City created in a special effects lab - amazing that it happened for real! tash Don't ever save anything for a special occasion. Being alive is a special occasion. Avril Sloe
  8. I had to vote not, but then he does have the excuse of being 7,000 miles away, so doesn't need to use the headache excuse diablopilot's man obviously uses. tash Don't ever save anything for a special occasion. Being alive is a special occasion. Avril Sloe

  11. In my recent experience of flying around Africa and Europe, a lot of these things are actually airport related. I had to put my laptop bag into my rucksack to prove I only had 1 bag for around 5 yards at LHR to get past the guy in the day-glo jacket, then unpacked it all (the laptops needed to be out of the bag for the screen anyway) and kept having 2 items after that. Also, I have found in the past that Stansted can be a lot more anal about these things than the other airports I use regularly, so it may be a Stansted thing as well as a Ryan Air thing. So if you are flying from somewhere other than Stansted it may be easier to walk on with it as your carry-on bag. tash Don't ever save anything for a special occasion. 12. sorry to hear about it. The longer I live here the more worried about my safety I get. I'm just glad I have a Tazz, which is hopefully not too conspicious a car. tash Don't ever save anything for a special occasion. Being alive is a special occasion. Avril Sloe
  13. I've always wondered whether setting my car alarm with the remote 'beeper' before I go inside to pay isn't a greater danger? Anyone know what the differences are between the cell phone risk and the transmission from my key-fob to the car? tash Don't ever save anything for a special occasion. 15. mine does that too, and I just put it down to my chest strap - as soon as I loosen it, the slider slides down nicely. I find that my rig is more comfortable if I tighten the chest strap the way I do, and as 'slider-up' isn't really that much of a problem, I carry on tightening it that way. tash Don't ever save anything for a special occasion. 16. There are lots of threads discussing the two, you can do a search and find more detail. In summary - you are likely to do more jumps to get qualified doing RAPS, each jump would be cheaper though. The advantage is that you have more canopy flights and landings under your belt when you do get your A-licence and it spreads the cost over time. AFF is faster, you can get a better idea of the total cost up front and you in-air coaching for your freefall skills. The absolute minimum number of jumps you need to get qualified in the UK is 18 for AFF and I think we counted up that it would be 19 for RAPS, however it is more common to have to repeat jumps doing RAPS. tash Don't ever save anything for a special occasion. Thanks Paul - can you keep him there all the time, that way the rest of us can plan when we are in the right mood to see him and come over to Bodyflight rather than accidentally running into him in some pub on the Charing Cross Road! tash Don't ever save anything for a special occasion. 18. they had one of the hottest summers in a while there this year, and leaving a rig in a car standing in the sun can get really quite hot, even in the UK! tash Don't ever save anything for a special occasion. Being alive is a special occasion. Avril Sloe

  20. Thanks Jack - I hadn't bothered with one in the past when I just had one rig to keep track of. Now that I have two, I've saved your calendar twice once for each rig . No more emergency texts to my rigger (which is what I did just a couple of weeks ago!). tash Don't ever save anything for a special occasion. Being alive is a special occasion. Avril Sloe

  24. A friend of mines works fro the RSPCA (the main animal charity in the UK) and I asked him about offering a home to a de-clawed cat if it ever came into their rescue shelter. His response was that it was highly unlikely as de-clawing cats is illegal in the UK and any vet found having a de-clawed a cat would loose their licence to practice. I my view that says it all - if someone felt it was cruel enough to get a law passed without enough opposition to get that proccess stopped there will be a good reason for it. tash Don't ever save anything for a special occasion.
