How long can you leave a ZP parachute packed before in your container?

I'm having trouble finding images from the @-sign dive from the 1997 World Freefall Convention (WFFC). Jack Cunniff organized it and got jumpers from around rec.skydiving. The images at http://www.freefall.com/images/reviews/at_sign97.html don't seem to be loading and even the Wayback Machine (www.archive.org) images don't load for me. If anyone has copies can you post them or e-mail them to me? Thanks! Man, has it been so long since that dive? I remember spending hours in the computer lab reading through rec.skydiving. It was one of the attempt dives that I lost my Alti-V. I packed it in my Sabre-150. Jack got me hooked up with an FT-150 that I still use. That was back when WFFC was still in Quincy. I thought that looked like Taft. I jumped there the summer of 1996 and the landscape was awfully familiar. Packin' Jack 42nd Lost Prairie: The Ultimate Answer to Life, the Universe, and Skydiving 25 Jul - 3 Aug 2009 2007 photos: http://www.skydive.com/prairie/pages/prairie.htm

We all like to see skydiving stunts on TV. Well, if you missed Season 1, Episode 1 of The Fall Guy, then you probably missed the 5 minute freefall in the opening sequence. Not wo worry, you can catch it all on Hulu.com: http://www.hulu.com/watch/26551/the-fall-guy-the-meek-shall-inherit-rhonda#in-playlist Packin' Jack 42nd Lost Prairie: The Ultimate Answer to Life, the Universe, and Skydiving 25 Jul - 3 Aug 2009 2007 photos: http://www.skydive.com/prairie/pages/prairie.htm

And I'm digging it up again. It appears that JumpRun is still available. There are a few others on the Software Resources page. I too am interested to know if there have been updates in this area. Are there DZs or clubs still looking for this type of software? Are the existing tools meeting the needs of the DZs using them? What are the holes or missing features that aren't being taken care of with existing options? Rob, You'll be dearly missed. I remember shortly after arriving in Montana in 1997 I got an e-mail from Fred. He was going to be doing tandems in Helena, which was much closer to Great Falls than Kalispell was. I headed out there and we jumped all day landing on the blue tarp on one edge of the airport. That was the day that I met Rob. It was a great day ended at a great bar. Here's to Rob. http://www.bigcitylittlekitchen.com/2007/07/06/beer-cupcakes/ Okay, caveat emptor on these. I have not tried this recipe yet. However, I figured there were some closet cooks in the crowd that would like to give this a try for the next DZ party. If anyone does get to this recipe, please post the results. Thanks. We're already off to a good start. Still there are a lot of computer savvy people out there that can give us a hand. Check out the link above and donate some idle computer time to medical science. Attached is our current points certificate. You can print and post this to show your support and raise awareness to this effort. Check back at the Folding@Home website to get the most current points certificate. You can download the software from http://folding.stanford.edu/download.html There are versions for Linux, Mac, and Windows. I know the Windows downloads are a bit confusing when you first look at it. there are lots of versions to choose from. The GPU versions are for very advanced graphics cards, so just ignore those. The "No nonsense" text-only version is more efficient, but I had trouble getting it to work. You can try it, but I think it is just too confusing to install for the average computer user. I would stick with the Graphical client. Then just match with your version of Windows. When you set it up, enter 81761 for your team number. This will include your results with the rest of the friends of Lost Prairie. Thanks for taking some time to support research for these diseases. The photo was taken after it got back to the loft and the camera was working. I think it was moved out of the protector flap after the initial gear check. I know the image is small to make it below the post size maximum. It is difficult to see that the closing loop is also significantly frayed. I'm glad some of the readers who were unaware of this problem got a chance to see it. There have been a couple comments about the proper routing. The Javelin Owners Manual (http://www.sunpath.com/downloads/manuals/sp_owners_manual.pdf) has a very good illustration on page 32 of the proper routing. If things don't look right, be sure to ask someone else about it. I've had great support from all of the manufacturers when I call with questions about their equipment and its proper care and maintenance. As many of you know Lenni Sand from Skydive Lost Prairie was diagnosed some time ago with Parkinson's Disease. Ske is a wonderful person and many of you have already reached out in support and love. I recently came across some work that Stanford is doing in the area of Alzheimer's, Mad Cow (BSE), CJD, ALS, Huntington's, Parkinson's disease, and many Cancers and cancer-related syndromes. It's called Folding@Home. You can help out by donating some of your idle computer time to the project. I've set up a Skydive Lost Prairie team which will track how much everyone has contributed. For information about how to help out visit the Folding@Home website at http://folding.stanford.edu. When you configure your team enter 81761 for the Skydive Lost Prairie team. Keep track of how much we've contributed at http://fah-web.stanford.edu/cgi-bin/main.py?qtype=teampage&teamnum=81761 Packin' Jack 42nd Lost Prairie: The Ultimate Answer to Life, the Universe, and Skydiving 25 Jul - 3 Aug 2009 2007 photos: http://www.skydive.com/prairie/pages/prairie.htm

Today we had a memorial ash dive for Mac at Lost Prairie. I wanted to share some of the images from the event for those who couldn't be here with us. You'll notice as you go through these that there were plenty of photographers on hand so there should be a number of other images available. HIM! HIM! FUCK HIM! Had this rig show up at gear check during Lost Prairie this week. Wanted to share the community how dangerous inattention can get.
