I just got in my first 270 degree carving riser turn (I hate to say hook) of the year, I had a three month lay off because of weather, it took me four jumps with less aggressive landings to make sure the eyes were up to par. It came off sweet, just like I had no lay off. If you have a layoff in your jumping, how many jumps do you take before getting as aggressive as you were before the layoff? Hey all, I keep hearing this ad on the radio about radar jammers, They are supposed to bounce a false signal back to the officer telling him that you are not in fact speeding. The ad says the company will even re-imburse you for any ticket that you do get....... Has anyone out there used one of these? do they work? is it a scam? The disciplines seem to run in cycles, in 2000 and 2001 our dz did a lot of CRW, now, virtually none. Right now Freeflying, Wingsuits and Swooping seem to be king. On a side note, I wish the USPA would drop the two night jump requirement and instead require two CRW jumps, the amount you learn in CRW about how your canopy flies is very valuable. I use a editing board at the dz or at home, I have a set pattern to how I video, and use the in camera special effects, comes out very nice, takes 10-12 minutes to dub, they get their video before they leave. The frap hat is basically for slide protection, the construction is similar to the leather skull caps the motorcycle racers wore in the 20-30's. The raised pads on the sides offer only slight protection to a sudden impact......There's a reason why leather helmets cannot be worn while riding a motorcycle.
