Dont bother going to skydive Las Vegas in bullhead city, If you were'nt trained there then you will not be allowed to jump (unless you wish a tandem) The owner has made it clear that he doesnt wish up jumpers at all....... he just wants the big moneymakers -tandems-AFF..... the atmosphere there is .... strained to say the least, not much fun. which is unfortunate because he has some great people working for him..... But hey!!! I could be wrong its been 3 years since I was there, the rules could have changed..... The dz in Jean was fun but I have heard its been closed..... Roy They say I suffer from insanity.... -->Is this a stupid thought on my part? Hell no that isnt a stupid thought, practice packing - build a set pattern of when during the packing cycle you cock the pilot chute. And definately do it enough to get comfortable with it, and do it the same every time..... check the kill line before you close the container, build this into your routine, and always check it when you pick it up to put it on. Have your rigger watch you pack, he may have some really good suggestions. If it continues to bother you.....replace it till some time in the future when you are more experienced. Just between you and me.......it used to bother the hell out of me when I first got a collapsing pilot chute...... --->Excellent!!!! In all, our low timers at the DZ ask questions to instructors. Some times you just dont get through to some people ....... unfortunately. A person with 4 jumps looks up to anyone with 20-55 or 100 jumps. To them that is a lot of jumps, and lots of times they will listen to them even if they have been instructed not to At one DZ I used to work at we had a major problem child, a 35 jump wonder who wouldnt listen to our tactful advice about NOT instructing students, he had been warned repeatedly not to give advice to students.
