  1. If someone genuinely feels bad for what happened and apologizes, then I forgive. I can only forgive once, however. Some people are really forgiving, and that's great if that works for them. We all live our lives differently, however. What makes one person feel better doesn't necessarily work for someone else. There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning
  2. You never text me anymore! You're never in meetings anymore!!!! There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning
  3. It's really fun to send someone a dirty text message when you know they'll read it in the middle of a meeting There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning
  4. I wonder where he hid the others. There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning
  5. Hello! Both Skydive Chicago and Chicagoland Skydiving are awesome dzs. Skydive Chicago is just a few miles off of 80....Chicagoland Skydiving is quite a few miles off of 80. If you can only do one, then SDC seems to make the most sense for you, but if you can do both, DO IT! Another dz that I recommend along the way is Indiana Skydiving Academy in Goshen, IN. It's not too far off of 80. There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning

  7. HAHAHA! A good ol' classic cocheese thread!!!!!
  8. 0:0:0 Took a weekend off from jumping to go to Cedar Point!!!! I finally went on Top Thrill Dragster and Millennium Force....both just excellent! The best part of the weekend, however, was playing with my nephews. My older nephew wanted to ride all of the rides with me
  9. Woo hoo! I don't think I'll be able to make it there to jump it, though. (New job = not much vacation time) I'm sorry to miss out on the Convention this year....and really sad to miss out on juming the JET! There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning
  10. We're going on a little trip tomorrow, and my nephews will be stuck in a car for a few hours. Since I am such an awesome aunt and always think of ways to entertain them, I thought that there might be a few good Podcasts for kids out there. I found a few story ones, which they would like, but it seems that most Podcasts aimed towards older kids (my nephews are 3 and 5.) I'm looking for something entertaining and possibly educational (I already got the Animal Planet one....the older one will love that!) I have some kids' music to play as well. Does anyone else know of any others out there? I'm taking fireworks for them, too. I rock! There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning
  11. 0:8:0 High Maintenance won A class at the MWSL meet at SDC!!! Congrats to all the teams for doing such a kick butt job in the horrible heat. Also thanks to Kallend for not hiding when he saw me....when I tell him I'm going to sdc, he has "other plans." When I don't tell him I'm going there, he's there. Coincidence? I made two today with Anna (who I haven't jumped with in quite some time) and also BRIAN (who really wanted me to mention him here...so I am....he is the birthday boy after all) at Hinckley. I'm not jumping next weekend, but if the heat is anything like this weekend, I'm not too sad about it. There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning

  14. 0:12:0 Phew. I'm exhausted. I went dancing with my best friend Friday night....it was the worst dj ever. Now, I really like music with my name in it, but even *I* was getting same of the same 8 words played over and over again. I love the Sirens. They are the COOLEST. I actually packed for myself on Saturday. The fight that night was fun to watch. Today, I did some stuff in preparation of the AFF course. I'm beat. But, I came back home to seeing my beautiful nephew's smile. There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning

  19. Val, I don't know if you've noticed this or not, but you're a blonde girl. Most skydivers don't get invited on stuff nearly as much as you do. Uhh...what stuff have I got invited on that other skydivers couldn't? (In all fairness, there were lots of blonde women on JFTC and men weren't allowed!) Absolutely anybody can get organized in Tent Three (is that the number this year? I can never keep up.) Plus, well, I'm offended that you think it's my gender and not my skills that gets me on loads. At the Convention, I couldn't get on just any freeflyer's loads because, well, the one's that I've seen organizing there have been professional and not showing favoritism to women. I jumped with sit-flyers because that's all I could do. The guys organizing some of the really cool stuff...well, too bad for me....as it has gone for me at pretty much every other dropzone when they're organizing all sorts of goofy headdown points. Women getting on stuff has less to do with their gender than you might think. Piriya will get invited on really cool stuff because she's actually a really damned good flyer (especially at 100 jumps!) 20. Jourdan....tsk tsk! I'll jump with you only if you fly video. There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning
  21. Can I jump from both of them at the same time? I didn't mean it as a knock on Skyfest. It sounds like an absolutely fantastic boogie. I just don't want to travel for boogies....well, except maybe the Summer Solstice boogie in Alaska one of these years! There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning
  22. What a long ass post You're kidding, right? Did you not see the big-ways planned for next year? One of the reasons I'm going is so that I can do some more jumps with Roger Ponce. And wasn't Airspeed there last year? Can you get much better organizing than that? The last time I jumped there, I didn't have a problem with getting on freeflying loads, and I don't even fly headdown. Blah blah blah...it's because I'm a girl...blah blah blah. I don't buy that. They could probably use a few more organizers, but I didn't see it being all that traumatic. I never went to the Convention for anything other than the jumping, and I've had a fantastic time every time I've jumped there. The organizing has always been top notch. (Granted, I'm not into the wingsuit thing, so maybe that does suck...) My opinion which counts for absolutely nothing.....it's probably a little bit of everything bringing the attendance down. I won't travel to a place like Skyfest since I have plenty of places to jump around my home, so I can understand why people don't travel as much anymore. I imagine there are people who go to boogies only based on the vendors. I imagine there are people who only go for the jet. Once again, I'm not one of them because, well, specialty aircraft doesn't add anything to my life. I wouldn't travel to Skyfest even if they brought a blimp in. My other theory is that skydivers are changing. My generation isn't the type that's okay with tenting/peeing in the woods for a week straight (well, some of us are, but there are quite a few people who want a big ol' stall to themselves.) I've always had a blast at the Convention. It always gives me warm, fuzzy feelings when I walk up to the organizer tents and see the same people every time. The first Convention I went to will always be a really special memory for me, and I hope that everyone in the sport has something like that. It really is cool to be young in the sport and meet so many people from all over the place. There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning
  23. 0:6:1 (first time competing in an NSL meet!) A HUGE thanks to Allen Butt, Chicagoland Skydiving, the ladies on High Maintenance and Andyman for making my first meet a very enjoyable experience (I'll pay beer next weekend when everyone is awake enough to drink it.) I had a great time and learned a ton (especially about how exits really can make or break the skydive!) I was really impressed with how smoothly everything ran, and I was very appreciative of Allen helping us out. The ladies of High Maintenance were fantastic skydivers. You would never guess that craichead has only 100 jumps. Andycam is the man! I think I've been bitten by the 4-way bug..... A big congrats to the CSC Sirens. They did an absolutely OUTSTANDING job! Their last round was extremely impressive! I also really appreciate their support. I also FINALLY got to meet the lovely melstarr!!!!
  24. I'm 99% sure Sunday is out for me since we're celebrating my brother's 30th birthday then. Sigh....I really want to come Saturday night, though, since it seems like I'm always missing my chance of meeting Mel! There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning
