  1. Now that's funny. It's a gift, I don't try to explain it.
  2. We have a fly-in at our local airport this weekend. It's a little ditty that's been going on for several years and they always bring a jump plane in. It's a chance to stay at home and jump and eat awesome BBQ. It's called When Pigs Fly and revolves around airplanes and a BBQ competition that brings competitors in from several states around KS. Anyway, I have been watching the weather forecasts the last several days and started saving them to compare. They have literally changed every 12 hours. And I'm not talking a little. We've gone from no rain, to rain, to rain three days in a row, to no rain and back again. Wind up/down and everything in between. I just don't get it. Why forecast several days in advance when you obviously can't get it right for the next 12 hours. Somebody, anybody, please explain this to me. It's a gift, I don't try to explain it.
  3. I sold my red, white and blue Sabre2, but I still have your favorite one. So, what kind of malfunction do you want me to pack for you next year? It's a gift, I don't try to explain it.
  4. My wife is. It's a gift, I don't try to explain it.
  5. We stayed at the Super8 in Casa Grande last January. It's near a truck stop but didn't seem too noisy. Clean, economical and pretty straight shot to the dz. Several military that were training at the dz stayed there also. Basically, we'll stay there again this year. It's a gift, I don't try to explain it.
  6. Interesting. I got an inquiry from someone with the username skyscott but the name and e-mail address were different. The overall message was much shorter too than the scam messages. I sent some info back but haven't heard anything else as yet. It's a gift, I don't try to explain it.
  7. But of the 65,432, how many have stood next to Jimmy" the Legend" Coiner? It's a gift, I don't try to explain it.
  8. See, now that's how rumors get started. It's a gift, I don't try to explain it.
  9. I'm planning a jumping vacation and several people have told me to go to The Farm. So, if I promise not to be annoying, can I drink all your beer? It's a gift, I don't try to explain it.
  10. Quote3 (2 with righty and one with lefty):6:0 reply] 3? Must be nice to be young and have stamina. Have you seen the SDD weather? Looks like another 182 weekend. It's a gift, I don't try to explain it.
  11. I have this friend, Jeremy. Maybe he can help. I think he posted on here earlier. I'd offer to help you out, but my wife made me quit seeing other women when we got married. It's a gift, I don't try to explain it.
  12. Dude, as much as I would love to go to CF's, my wife's best friend wants us to come to Mississippi and take her to Gold Coast and throw her out with a tandem. You now me dude, the only person scares me more than JC the midwest ff legend, is my wife. It's a gift, I don't try to explain it.
  13. (but it's not midnight yet):4:1(Jumped my first sub 150 canopy but no one called me on it.) It's a gift, I don't try to explain it.
  14. Miracle on 34th St.(the original) The Goonies(OK, not really from my childhood) I'd like to meet this person that has never seen Ferris. What planet are they from, and when did they arrive? It's a gift, I don't try to explain it.
  15. I had a friend that's a bullrider once ask me why I jump out of airplanes, that it seems dangerous. I simply told him that in my sport the canopy does what I tell it to and if I screw up and it slams me, then it lays calmly on the ground beside, not continuing to kick the s**t out of me like his sport. He agreed I had a point. It's a gift, I don't try to explain it.
  16. I've worked emergency services both in the ER and in the field. I prefer the field, all those bright flashing lights and screaming sirens aren't nearly as annoying. However, in the ER, you can't always hear the crap going on in the waiting area. One of the funniest things I every saw though was a large, very drunk women with a knife wound who was completely out of control. She kept screaming that she didn't want blood because of religious reasons. The trauma surgeon on call was a slightly larger than average size female. Also, the patient wasn't that seriously wounded. Finally, when the doc had had enough and called for restaints and the patient went totally crazy, the doc jumped about three feet in the air and landed in the middle of this gal like (insert your favorite WWF wrestlers name here). ER's can be entertaining, as long as you're not the one in need of care. It's a gift, I don't try to explain it.
  17. Must have decent insurance. I wonder how many of the ones decribed above were required to pay anything even after care was given? It's a gift, I don't try to explain it.
  18. I once had a rather buxom female friend tell me in no uncertain terms, "the only thing likes a bone, is a dog." It's a gift, I don't try to explain it.
  19. Unless you have a left handed BOC, I don't see a problem. It's a gift, I don't try to explain it.
  20. While I would love to take the credit for shutting it down, there was posting on that thread and another new thread started after. If that thread offended I apologize. It wasn't meant too. I was just shocked when my sweet and innocent wife came home and dropped that bomb of a question. It's a gift, I don't try to explain it.
  21. My wife comes home today from work and asks, "do you know what a fluffer is?" This is a women who was raised in the Holdeman Mennonite church and lived in that lifestyle until she was 29 years old. Since leaving though she has gone on to receive degrees in criminal justice and post grad degrees in sociology. Anyway, what is the safest way to answer such questions in the future. We were eating dinner at the time, so I'm guessing blowing my beverage out my nose probably gave the answer away this time. Evidently were she works(mental health ward at a correctional facility) a higher percentage of men knew than women. It's a gift, I don't try to explain it.
  22. Dude, everybody remembers you. It's a gift, I don't try to explain it.
  23. All very valid points and I agree that double manifesting is wrong and would not walk in and put my name down on back to back loads. I was manifested on the next load and got the extra slot because no one else was ready. If I hadn't taken it, it was leaving with three aboard. The whole argument started because I said I was on back to back loads because I had two rigs. I could have taken more time to explain myself had I not been trying to keep the plane moving. In all honesty, I may have over reacted. The guy that approached me can tend to have a smug arrogant attitude at times but we have always gotten along and done some great jumps together. The smuggness just got to me as I was heading for the plane. That and once back on the ground when he was told what had happened at manifest he actually said, "I don't have a problem with it." Well if not, why start with it in the first place? Well, now the aftermath. On Sunday as I was walking to the hangar we passed within a few feet. I greeted him with a "good morning" and he just mumbled something back at me. Actually, it was afternoon, so I said' " I mean good afternoon," again, a mumble. I went ahead and made a couple jumps then packed up to go home. Before leaving I went over to him and just kind of nugged him. He looked up and I said, "so, we going to jump together again, we OK." He smiled and said yes. I said, you sure and he said yes. I offered my hand and he shook it and I went home. We'll see. You know what. Just look at my jump numbers. I'm a novice. I have alot to learn. I just don't tolerate ego's very well. But, life's short, the sky is big. There is just way to many skydives to make to dread going to the dz because you might run into somebody you've argued with. The guy is a good jumper, he has taught me alot and hopefully he'll teach me more. We'll see. It's a gift, I don't try to explain it.
  24. I see now that several people have posted to this. I would have sooner, but I thought it was a rhetorical question. It's a gift, I don't try to explain it.
