  1. I think this is the same jackass I contacted. When I asked him why the pictures were different than the add he asked back what I was talking about. I don't remember the canopy advertised but the picture was a Falcon(not what was in the ad). Same with the container as you saw, advertised a V3 and picture looked like the first Vector ever off the assembly line. His response then was his brother-in-law wrote the ad and he wasn't a skydiver. I guess I should have done the solid and turned him in then. It's a gift, I don't try to explain it.
  2. If you look closely you can still see the marks where the jockey whipped it. It's a gift, I don't try to explain it.

Best way to get to a dz. It's a gift, I don't try to explain it.
  7. and all of a sudden you come across this. Quick, what do you do? It's a gift, I don't try to explain it.
  8. I hated my Wings when it was new but once it was jumped a few times I was in love. It's a gift, I don't try to explain it.
  9. Have to watch the original Miriacle on 34th Street at least threee times every December. Dazed and Confused. OK, it's not a classic, but if you graduated from high school in the mid 70's you have to watch just so you can pick yourself out, and, all your friends from then. It's a gift, I don't try to explain it.
  10. I acquired this helmet with an old Hitachi camera in it. It's has just the camera in the helmet with a lead to the recorder you wear in a belly pack. Pretty old recorder. Anyway, does anyone out there have anything similar that they have been able to put a handcam in? Or, a way to adapt the lead on this camera into a smaller handcam. Appreciate any help. Thanks. 12. Most of us, meaning males, have been brought up to think that women like us to think they are "mysterious." So, I think, most likely, it was a compliment, or at the very least a vailed attempt to get in you pants. However, for me to make the best accurate evaluation, I'll need to see those boobies. It's a gift, I don't try to explain it.
  13. I've always had four to seven pets at any given time. But I don't know what I was thinking this time. This is Booger (namesake form the big white spot in his right nostril that looks like, well, you guessed it). He is just barely over five months and well over 80 pounds. I've always thought the "rips" were incredibly funny, but when this maniac starts going it's like a tornado. So, someone, anyone, please, what was I thinking? It's a gift, I don't try to explain it.

    Real Genius

Thursday I drove six hours to Skydive Dallas only to wake up to crappy weather. Drove back to KS to jump, woke up to high gusty winds this morning. I'm glad I came to this thread cause now I know what to do tonight to cheer myself up. But first, I have to go to the market and get some Jiffy-Pop. It's a gift, I don't try to explain it.
  15. Somebody please post if they call him. I got an e from him last night. Most likely it's not a real #. It's a gift, I don't try to explain it.
  16. I've ridden longer than jumped. I rode for about 25 years before I took a mc course. One of the first questions you will be asked, "is the risk worth the reward?" I took the course because my wife wanted to learn to ride. She is also a jumper. Statistics? My profession leads me to research. One thing I have found is that you can find +, - research for anything. Helmet makers tell you their product saves lives. ABATE tells you the opposite. Negative bias research doesn't get published(in other words if there is a different response than wanted, it doesn't get published. But that's another topic). Bottom line. IS THE RISK WORTH THE REWARD? If it's not, don't ride. Maybe give up skydiving too. Yeah, I know, like that's goning to happen. Also, check out http://www.mmchoppers.com/images/barnt.html for some old school badass s**t! It's a gift, I don't try to explain it.
  17. Me too. I kept watching this site instead of just reporting. Since no one else reported I went so far as to send pic's of my Stiletto. He then e-d me that he was sending a $4750 check and I was too take my part out and give the rest to the shipping agent when picked up. http://abcshippingcompany.zzn.com/ It's a gift, I don't try to explain it.
  18. At least I'm getting the kind of advice I had hoped for. After the last two posts and also listening to other experienced pilots discuss canopies I have to wonder?, can you have two different canopies of same size and make yet have slightly different flight characteristics? Or, can things like a canopy being "ground hungry" be strictly an interpretation of the pilot? It's a gift, I don't try to explain it.
  19. I recently acquired a Stiletto 170 with zero jumps. It was part of a package deal and I planned on selling it. I currently jump a Sabre2 170. I have a little over 260 jumps with about 40 on the Sabre2 and the previous 90-100 on a Sabre 170. Wing load is 1.25. I have read that the Sabre and Stiletto are similar in many ways with the Stiletto having a flatter glide and more responsive in the toggles. I consider myself a conservative canopy pilot at this time but would like to speed things up a bit without getting to much into swooping, if that makes sense. My reason for this is that I don't feel that I get enough jumps per year to remain really current at more aggressive piloting(120-130/year). My question is this. Would I find any benefits in keeping the Stiletto as I progress in abilities. Also, many canopies suggest specific loadings to get specific benefits, at my loading would I see benefits. I would appreciate advice from experienced people who jump or have jumped Stilettos. Thanks. It's a gift, I don't try to explain it.
  20. But if it's just a matter of pain, wouldn't it then depend on each individual whether or not they can be subdued? Different levels of pain tolerance. I seem to remember a civil case against police officers several years ago when a person they were attempting to subdue died. The blame was placed on them applying to much pressure to the CS and the persons heart rate and BP dropping to critical levels. Either way, I agree that it isn't like the movies where someone simply grabs you in that area and you drop like a rock. It's a gift, I don't try to explain it.
  21. Is it pressure to the brachial plexus that allows you subdue the person or pressure to the carotid sinus? Pressure on the CS with cause a drop in heart rate and blood pressure. It's a gift, I don't try to explain it.
  22. Now that is original. It's a gift, I don't try to explain it.
