  1. how about the east side of "the moon tower" timmy?
  2. and how many freshmen did you hook up with after that
  3. If its their first GC session and they are skydivers you could trick them into buying the beer after the getaway.
  4. i think he meant if it were LEGAL to jump an elevator tower 10 times in a day would you? How many jumps did you do in august of this year hookit?
  5. yes it will work. you would wear the trackin suit as the outer most layer. the body armor closer to the , ehm, body. infact, fyyi, tracking pants are worn OVER the leg straps of the harness. my opinion tho: dont worry to much about BASE right now if your planning an entry to the spot in 08 or 09. worry about skydiving and how that sport can kill you.
  6. loan it recently jumped ( you know it works), and unpacked. you may help him pack it, but let him do it. so no guilty feelings if the "what if" happened. there are a few jumpers i would jump a rig based on there word, but packing for myself is preferable.
  7. You ever opened an object Jamie? jamie has never opened an object and sold it out. he would never sell it to the media. he has more class than this guy in a tux 10 fold.

    New Zealand?

I dont kno, looks a little photoshoped to me
  9. What Cosmo, err Michael did was wrong. however we didnt see what led up to it, not an excuse, just a point. Did anyone see this rant by another white comedian Bill Burr? http://youtube.com/results?search_query=bill+burr+philadelphia part 2 http://youtube.com/watch?v=c8iyrCAuVB0&mode=related&search= those people treated him, and the previos comics like horse shit. Its part of the game. Question: How many times has a black comedian used a racial slur against a white person? countless. Cracker, honky, dorky white guy, whatever. Free speech is a blessing and a poison pill, have fun!
  10. I was thinking of something not permanent (not PLANNING a cutaway) but something more durable. More like the yellow lines that go thru the white string. (I know they are not pliable enough, but closer to those than my shoe laces.)
  11. read my second paragraph. I wanted to know about how much we (base) put in vs. how much we (base) get out of the AG insurance. For what its worth every trip I make there I will pay for AG, hopefully without meeting them.
  12. Morpheus will build them either way. You just have to tell them what you want when you order them. what would is the purpose in having ring side up? why put a useless hole in your risers? I know why skydivers have them, but in BASE? no holes in my risers please.
  13. How many BASE jumpers insure themselves each year with AG? at 25 USD a pop? How many rescues and/or recoveries (sorry BSBD) do they preform each year, aprox? Im sure mountaineers, climbers, hikers, skiiers also pay, but how much budget income comes from BASE, and how much goes out to BASE?
  14. [reply That little white string is by far the most fragile part of your life support equipment. Anything that protects it is a big plus in my book. I know the amount of force on 'the white string' is very small, however isnt there a better (more durable, stronger, etc..) substitute for the little white string. even on a skydiving rig, there has got to be something better besides a shoe lace on some watered down steroids. but what do i know.
  15. I believe (second hand) that DW did a single gainer from 156 or 165 (dyslexic sorry) over solid ground somewhere in the PNW.

however DO NOT RELY on the sectionals. they are not that accurate. I looked at 7 different objects I know and I found errors in 6 of them. (yes I know how to read a sectional). I found one error in excess of 100 feet.

    Stolen Gear

You should also check www.craigslist.org for your appropriate city. This is where I found my rig being sold for $180!! What a bargain BTW. I tried to get the police involved but they said it would be way easier to just buy the gear back. assholes.

  19. Not being able to commit to walking down from an exit point.
  20. I totally threw it in my parents/relatives face last Christmas. I was tired of "hiding" it. Blatenly packed my rig in my parents backyard with my mom and nephew. Told her I was going after dinner to a 900' A. She only requested that I dont die on her birthday (which it was) and have fun. I agreed to both. BTW, my parents are way cooler now than when I was in high school. thats totally OK tho.
  21. I went through several stages of buying gear and seeking out mentors, then chickening out. I bought my first rig in 2002, yet didnt do my first jump till BD 04. (different canopy, same container). As a 700+ jump skydiver, a 600+ hour CFII, an Eagle Scout and a High Adventure C.O.P.E. leader in the BSA, and an overwhelming desire not to kill myself. I had/have a advisor. Most of my jumps are regular and generally not that technical. My advisor helped me learn to pack, other minor rigging type issues, and other little tricks and insight. He has a light guidance, but certainly not a "I am teacher, you are grasshopper" way of doing things. I believe he has confidence in me not only to make the correct decisions, but also to fix the wrong ones as they are happening. I feel as if I am learning BASE with an older brother who does look out for you, yet doesnt give you all the answers. Makes me think about everything, and lets me make the call. For me it is/was perfect. exactly what I wanted. (he has 500+ BASE jumps, and a rigger who actually helped make base rigs) (thank you T) nic

every once in a while you can turn in your hetero card in for a small occurrence and get away from the typical bashing from insecure alpha male types who get off on calling anything other than their own small minded point of view "GAY", and get away with it. trust me, i live in san francisco, as a straight guy, in the castro.
  23. reasons not to throw THE toggle that you have left: 1. you still have it. 2. you can still use it. 3. having it DOES NOT inhibit you from doing a double riser flare for landing. the last and could be very crucial 4. you throw your ONLY TOGGLE and as its danglin behind you catches ANYTHING, you just hooked yourself into the ground. ouch. even a little snag and wham. hi ground, nice see'n you again. 911 please. just imagine it.

Good for him. With a terminal illness, what do you have to lose?? I know there are cases of luck and huge amounts of drugs that can help you "live" longer. fuck that. good on him for doing what most wouldnt!!
