Base jumping willl always be sacred for those with their hearts in it. Nothing will change BASE for them. Nothing possibly could. No matter how many fools get involved in the sport or how much publicity it receives what difference does it make? You must be in this sport for yourself not just the surrounding noise/buzz. What do you care if more people know about and possibly oppose your act. It will not change. It is completely irrelevant. Even if BASE were so illegal it was punishable by death what difference would it make? You are already risking your life for BASE. What a waste of time this bickering is. The act in and of itself will never be destroyed and that is all that matters.

They don't carry the Super Fly model although you can try on other pairs to see which size is best to order.

Hello everybody... I'm in the market for a new computer and was looking for some input on a couple things... First of all with the macs I know it comes with imovie and was wondering if that is a decent program for editing? There is a deal with mac right now to get final cut express with a 230 dollar rebate so I imagine if I want to get into more serious editing that would be the way to go? Also I am looking at the desktop imacs and they all seem to come standard with 1GB of ram. Is that enough or is it a good idea to spend the extra dough for the 2GB? Also for a hard drive I imagine 250 gb would be enough? I've been sort of debating on whether or not to get a laptop or a desktop mac as well... Is it a pain in the ass to edit on a laptop? Also at the same time is it worth it to have a laptop just to be able to have it at the dropzone if you are filming tandems and whatnot? Lastly I plan on editing in HD is that going to reallly slow things down much? Does the video card have much of an influence on speed while you are editing? I guess that's about it for now. Colin

You´re description of a base jumper is a description of a person who has self actualized and discovered ther true vocation. It has NOTHING to do with BASE jumping. You can call them a dreamer or whatever... It just means they are following their own path... Their inner voice. There is no such thing as a fucking BASE jumper. We are just humans. Some who are lost and havent found their way. Some who have. Telling them apart is fairly simple. But the ones who have found their way are NOT called Base jumpers. In fact that might be incredibly offensive to some. To me it´s a meditation. It brings me down to earth. It´s a part of what makes me whole. But seeing somebody as a whole human being and labelling them a BASE jumper I think is very shallow and narrow minded. There are so many incredible things upon this earth that fulfill peoples beings.

Hey fellas... Just looked up some previous threads on venezuela and saw a lot of good and bad reviews of this place... Has anybody been there recently? The island jumps sound amazing although it seems like they may not be happening anymore? Also there was a bridge on the hwy there that is out? I don't see that as a huge issue but either way if anybody knows it if it's up or not I'd be thankful... Lastly are they normally open throughout the week making a decent number of loads daily? Any info would be greatly appreciated... Trying to plan out my vacation from the 1st to the 10th of Feb next year.... Colin

I would recommend before amputecture either De-Loused in the Comatorium or Frances the Mute.. I can see Amputecture turning most people off of Mars Volta right off the bat. There are only two tracks I enjoy off that album... BUT I recommend Saul William's latest self-titled album...

I really enjoyed the Kundera quote. I took the following passage from The Glass Bead Game by Herman Hesse... Initially it was about classical music... It is now about BASE.
