  1. I know plenty of norcal jumpers WITHOUT "the norcal attitude". I guess to say 'norcal' is almost becoming slanderous. I like it here.

    Track Suits

Just Curious. How far ahead in freefall did you decide if you could clear the ledge? After that choice, were you thinking a) HOLY MOTHER OF GOD, that was close. or B) Sweet, planned it exactly how I planned it. or C) Man, I could of gone further... ? Nic
  3. I agree. I have yet to use a 'tool' to pack my pc. Nothing against those who do/have, but i see no reason to use a tool. I can make (show) a nice, clean, big grab out of a 42, 46, and 48 (actually I dont stow a 48 so...). And a handle (ex or internal) on a 38 or less, there is no need. I guess I just dont get it.
  4. Yeah, maybe somebody could do that, but JH already did! I need some more inovative, creative, and a higher level of intoxication level to even be teased. The last quali is the hardest for me. I bartend, and can out do most. So I've herd
  5. Now you are starting to get it. I will NEVER show ANYONE my (our) objects for their video. I will then venture to say MOST BASE jumpers wont either. Legal sites, sure. Nothing more. So here is your warm sarcastic, cynical FUCK OFF. thats okay tom, he said it first. If not I need to step onto the DZ.com wagon for a couple weeks.
  6. please, be smart people. thank you TVPB. No hurry to die people, you have your whole lives to die.
  7. Dont feel special dude. Everyone gets the same treatment.
  8. I guess the spelling tour is later
  9. I know tim, I meant to reply to MrBrant, but fucked up. My computer skills are lacking, we both know that. you back in town?
  10. I was speaking of the jumper that hit the RR tracks after clearing line twists. Its on Johnny Utah's BD carnage video. If you really want to jump, watch some of this tragic video. Gives a person a little perspective of what happens, not what CAN happen, what happens. Nic (tom, PMed)
  11. 24 yrs old, I turned down my first BASE jump in 2000 when I was 20. Trained (as well as I knew how) for a year, bought gear, chickened out. No regrets, the gear was crap. Got my ticket for BD 04, 2 jumps there, as dry as possible for actually making the landing area. No real regrets now 50 jumps later, and counting.
  12. You asked for city and numbers emphatically. so 21 belongs to who? At the least country, and if in the US, state? just playing your game.
  13. Broken ankles, legs, arms. Infact a few years ago a jumper had to have his leg amputated. Ask him if it was all that bad.
  14. you mention manditory gear checks. Now wouldnt the safest jumps be in TF with a FJC that gives you, and more importantly teaches you everything about that. plus your less rushed, less meyham, and minus gnarly white water below with a small crowd looking to watch some carnage. go to TF sign up for a FJC
  15. GREAT!! I already have a few friends who will donate IF the money goes to kids. They also said they will come and help out the jumpers during the event. Bologne sandwiches, bottles of water, etc. I really dont want a publicity stunt, I want to raise money for those who need it IN the TF area. A thank you, a really big thank you. nic
  16. If we are going to do this event with raising money for a (any) charity, do we need to set up a nonprofit org. that would handle the donations and distribution of monies to the selected charity (s)? To prove that everything is on the up and up and there is some accountability. Because if anyone did get a corporate sponsor for this, that group would want the tax write off, and I assume would want to make sure their money reached its intended benefactors. just a thought, nic
  17. I was also thinking that a potion of the donation could be to the local S&R, or maybe the local ER.

    BURNING SITES

Manager Guy: Let's call the cops and see if they can figure it out. Cop: Well, they have left me this nice clue. I'm going to dig around on the internet and see what it means. Cop: Hey, look at this. It turns out that's a logo from these weirdo's called "BASE Jumpers" who like to parachute off buildings. I'd say you've got a BASE jumper infestation. Better call an exterminator. If you set up video cameras we can get some evidence to go after them next time you see them. And they're already giving us a trail to follow. They're no better than gang members using graffiti to mark their turf. Let's get 'em! Manager Guy: Wow, I never heard of this "BASE" stuff before. We'll definitely tighten things up around here and see if we can nail those guys. Gee Tom, with writing skills like those you could be a sit-com writer, maybe even the star!! (insert laugh track here) (edit for spelling)
  19. That too, but I suggest getting your ass in shape. I don't know about you but I plan to do at least one jump per hour. yeah yeah, i actually am in shape. Might i suggest for you to get younger . i plan to do 1.0714 jumps per hour.
  20. How about a couple kegs of beer so everone can share the winnings .
  21. Students at big DZ's often don't get taught to spot. And they end up getting out whenever they are told to, after the load was spotted by someone else, for their own flight paths. If possible DONT go to a big DZ. Learning to spot is IMO a essential but larger missed lesson in skydiving. GO to a small 182 DZ, OR take earlier exits, 5k, 6k, etc...
