  1. Time for some summary introspection from the poll results! - I skip over threads with meaningless titles, without looking. 33% - I look at threads with meaningless titles, but am often annoyed. 23% - Meaningless thread titles don't bother me. 44% how about stupid thread titles, you got a total of 63 votes on this poll, thats jack squat. How many people saw the title of this tread and thought "boring" . Stating 1/3 really isn't a true statistic. For the amout of users here you may as well have got 3 people to vote then stated that 1/3 of dropzone users skip over them . See my point?
  2. If you take the guitar, grab the neck with both hands and then smash it against the ground...... well then you can feel like a real rockstar!!! That won't really help you with the song though.
  3. tell him if he doesn't stop you will have to kill his dog sparky. No wait, don't kill sparky! what did that dog ever do to you anyway?
  4. You can come live with me and pack my lunch every day. Oh wait , you want to pack parachutes. Did you buy that gear yet? as soon as you do practice packing with it. You will definatly improve with practice.
  5. I'm currently at University and want to become a secondary teacher when I'm finished, so I count (in about 4 yrs).
  6. Just curious if you would care to share that story.
  7. I was at around 30 jumps I think. Didn't have my A yet.
  8. sweet site. thanx for posting it for us!
  9. What's that old saying, "Don't judge a thread by it's title" , or was it book by it's cover? hmmmm...
  10. why don't you read the " A week ago ..." thread. if you do I doubt you will be bitching about it.
  11. if you want to know if you will pass aff this weekend just flip a coin, heads you make it and tails you make it. Good Luck!
  12. Before: good for the banger look After: I'd say much better, but you obviously liked the long dew so I won't trash it. Q: did it ever get in the way skydiving?
  13. I don't know exactly what to say . You are sharing a horrifying yet amazing story with us. That is truely amazing you were able to save him. I hope your son has a swift recovery and hopefully forgets whatever made him think that was his only choice. I was actually thinking of taking a CPR course that starts on Wednesday. After reading this I decided that I am going to sign up. You never know when you may be in the position to save someones life, and in your case especially, a loved one. thank you for sharing and my heart goes out to you and your son.
  14. where is this letter and what is it about?
  15. I've forgot to turn on my Cypres and it just so happened that the DZ owner was on that load and happened to ask me if I had turned it on . I stared back at him for a sec then said "No, I didn't". The plane hadn't started to take off yet so I loosened my gear and he turned it on for me. I didn't need the cypres for that particular jump but thats really not the point. I could have. Glad he asked me. Felt like an ass the rest of the day but I can live with that.
  16. I've caught a chest strap before. A member of my DZ noticed his undone in ff and went onto his back and did it up before deploying. I've also personnaly forgot to turn on my Cypres and it just so happens that the DZ owner was on that load and happened to ask me if I had turned it on . I stared back at him for a sec then said "No, I didn't". The plane hadn't started to take off yet so I loosened my gear and he turned it on for me. I didn't need the cypres for that particular jump but thats really not the point. I could have. Bottom line is that it's good to double check yourself and check others and no one will think bad of you if your being safety conscientious. You may very well save someones life.
  17. Most dropzones have students so you are bound to meet people wherever you jump that are in the same boat as you. You also have to remember that everyone jumping out there was also in the same boat at one time or another, we all know how it feels to be the new guy (or gal in your case). I'm sure you will be part of things before you know it.
  18. that's awesome! hope to try it someday. congrats!
  19. Don't cry too much Ryan. Why don't you switch spots with me. You come up to Ontario and I'll go down to texas. Then when it's a cloudy day I'll say " Maybe tomorrow" and when you see a beautiful clear day you can say "Alas, shall I dare to freeze my balls off?" . Oh, you don't want to switch? Yeah, didn't think so.
  20. exactly. thats my understanding as well. When I purchased my cypress 2 I had it installed about a week after I had just had a repack, the same rigger installed my aad without repacking the reserve and it was documented on the card.
  21. Good for you, why don't you do that. For what reason do you want to open your reserve. I personally respect that it's to be only touched by a liscened rigger. If you want to fill the reserve compartment with paper and try to get a rigger to put a new seal on it, go for it. Bottom line is you want to mess with the reserve then you are an idiot.
  22. then the second sounds better to me...... Beer,Beer,Beer,Beer!!!
