  1. I attended college after highschool, and recieved a diploma in electronics. Did the technician thing for about 3 yrs and decided to attend university this past fall. I am majoring in mathematics and hope to get into teaching at the secondary level.
  2. yeah, I jump at Burnaby. Maybe I'll meet you this summer.
  3. You know, I don't even know......
  4. hello Vicky, when was your last jump? p.s. you picture is a little too low quality I think.
  5. probably, but I find that to be a "routine" forum. Anytime I've looked at it it's the same people saying "welcome to the forum". I've been here for a while and those are not the responses I was looking for.
  6. .... or just look at this and don't .
  7. In any senario, big or small, there is always this sense of "who can we blame" attitude. not that I agree with the decisions made by Bush but saying "if bush had done this......", or "if bush had done that....." doesn't really get anyone anywhere. The bottom line is that terrorists acted out a horrible event on 9/11 and the blame should be kept on themand not to blame people that "maybe" could have prevented it. Just my personal opinion.
  8. Hi, just looking to maybe get to know a little more about others who care to share. My name is Gerry (bet you couldn't guess that) and I am living in Ontario around Niagara Falls, and I am 23 years old. maybe I'll share some more if this thread gets going.
  9. Was it possible that you got stuck talking to someone at manifest before that felt like being a bastard?
  10. I think the mix makes it more interesting in the forum.
  11. There was someting like that on an episode of CSI. I remember reading about a german buisenessman (or someone in politics) who had about 200 jumps under his belt. A scandel was uncovered involving him and before police could bring him in he was at the DZ on jumprun and suprise ,suprise he didn't bother to activate his main or reserve. Thats pretty selfish to put that on the DZ.
  12. I think I would go on a long trip that included hitting all the major DZ's in the US. Then get down to New Zealand and travel around there for a while while continuing to jump at the DZ's located there. Bring some friends along for the ride as well.
  13. too bad no one has an avitar of just legs, then we could have a whole body made from three consecutive posts.
  14. Lives in Woodstock and is waiting for it's glorious return!
  15. Has a total of one skydive. "everyone has to start somewhere"
  16. hey, now you get to update your profile! when did you get it? if theres been 200 A's issued since I received my A in the later summer (2003) and Canpara still hasn't quite got to me then My last statement gets shit on a bit. 200 is plenty to print more than 20 at a time, C'mon canpara, Denren will have his B before you print he got his A.
  17. I'm 10270. pleased to meet you. I was kinda pissed CANPARA is so slow to print the new CoP holders but if you think about it, how many people are really getting liscences in the late fall, winter, even early spring up here? They print so few CoP holders just so that they have something to print juring these winter months when not a hell of alot is going on.
  18. You have to have the 4-yr done even if it's 8 yr's old? couldn't you just have the 8 yr done. It just seems slighty ridiculous to me to have it serviced and then re-serviced in less than a year.
  19. My skytronic didn't work from the time I recieved it from a lovely ebay seller. Parasport fixed it for free (like yours) but have not actually tested it yet (Friiggin soon I hope!) but at least it turns on now.
  20. Hope the repair time doesn't take too long for you.
  21. I think my family and my girlfriend like to pretend like I'm not actually skydiving and by going and watching they would have to face the truth, which is something they are not willing to do right now. I'll take them not coming out but also not bothering me about it over being pestered to shit and begged not to jump.
  22. I was on a load with an instructor and another jumper who was on her 2nd or 3rd jump after completing PFF. Up to this point she had only jumped from an Otter and this jump was from a Cessna. She was nervous about the cessna and the exit altitude (5500 ft instead of 13500 ft). I exited first to show her how to exit. Once under canopy I noticed no other canopies above me. She had felt uncomfortable and decided not to jump. When I talked to her after I told her not to feel bad about not jumping and that you should never do something that your not comfortable with. If it's an issue you want to tackle then theres always next time. This may be less of an issue but last year I saw enough chops, and some of them were from students who had a few line twists or a brake happened to release and there first instict was to cut away. Some jumpers on the ground felt this was unneccessary but I think they did what they felt was right at the time and shouldn't take have to take shit for it. Better to cut away then to try and correct a problem into the ground.
  23. Since the TM is control why not jump blindfolded? At least for Freefall. I guarantee that will be quite a different feeling.
