It breaks my heart. Dale was such a fantastic guy. Wm and I loved him very much and loved jumping and traveling with him. ..................................................................... PMS#28, Pelogrande Rodriguez#1074 My Pink M

There is actually one DZ in Slidell, LA. However, I have jumped there and it was really a bad experience. I would not suggest going there. Now, I did jump at Goldcoast last weekend and it was great. Everyone there is great!! They are more than worth the drive. We had a group of fourteen jump (tandem), and the staff there made everyones experience the best it could possibly be. I will definitely be returning in the upcoming weeks. This post was written in 2003. Since then, there are a few DZs in Louisiana that have popped up. ..................................................................... PMS#28, Pelogrande Rodriguez#1074 My Pink M

G.D., a long-time jumper with Gold Coast Skydivers, died in a canopy collision this past weekend. He was 75 years old and had just completed 24 hours of freefall. G.D. was the spriteliest man. Everytime I would see him and ask how he was doing, he would do a little jig and say, "I can still dance, so I'm fine!" His family has set up a fund for him via USPA and his memorial service is July 30. Information about both are below: Chapel of the Holy Comforter, 2220 Lakeshore Drive, New Orleans, LA 70122 Sunday, 30 July 2006 2:00 PM Visitation -- We'll have a display area, so feel free to bring any photos or memorabilia. 3:00 PM Memorial Celebration -- All are welcome to share their favorite stories and pay tribute. Following the Memorial -- We'll have light refreshments for anyone who wants to stay and chat. For more information, call Flora Williams at 504.220.2150 or John Lyon at 504.669.7152. Fuki Williams (his wife) can be reached at 504.393.2825. Her mailing address is 2120 Comet Street, New Orleans, LA 70131. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made to the National Skydiving Museum For more information, visit http://www.nationalskydivingmuseum.org/HOWTOCONTRIBUTE.htm or mail the US Parachute Team Trust Fund (TTF) or the Airport Access Defense (AAD) fund via USPA at 540l Southpoint Centre Blvd, Fredericksburg, VA 22407 in memory of Robert G.D.Williams. Cards can be sent to Fuki's address above. "For anyone who can't make this memorial, we are planning to have a ceremony to scatter his ashes during a dive sometime in the fall. My dad was a brave man; I hope I can find some of his strength in me and be the one to do it." - Flora ..................................................................... My 2 cents: Skinny-cut is the trend, right now. It is hard to pull off unless you are a thin build and it looks as if you are. On the other hand, it is a trend, so it may go out of style soon and I predict we will be back to more traditional cuts in menswear. I like contemporary suits, but it depends on what type of business you are in. If you are in the advertising/art business or casino biz - this suit is great. If you are selling grannies life insurance or investment strategies, this suit is too much. I like a black shirt with contemporary suits, but you may need a tie at your convention. Opt for black. Anything else and you will look like a mob hit man. If you want to please daddy and his customers, you may want to look for a black wool suit, white shirt and colorful tie that is not too crazy. Gucci and Zegna makes some of the best ties that I have ever seen. Last but not least - remember, you are dressing for your customers, not yourself. :o) ..................................................................... PMS#28, Pelogrande Rodriguez#1074 My Pink M

Barksdale Airshow Skydiving Demos in Shreveport, LA
Laurel replied to Laurel's topic in Events & Places to Jump
We went to the airshows at Barksdale and the downtown airport every year so I probaby was there when you were. I grew up in Shreveport - lived here from 1972-1995, again from 1999-2001, and yet again since October of 2005. ..................................................................... I did my first tandem out of the twin beech back in 1999 at Sport City. Lordy, we were a bandit group. Today's jumps went very well out of the DC-3 and I hope all is the same tomorrow. -

This weekend, not only will the Canadian Parachute team do CRW demos, but local favorites, Bill Geaslin, Trea Miller, Gregg Flowers, Jeff Darnell, Chris Parker, Donnie Cockrell, Jason Blake, and Kelly Lawson will be jumping into Barksdale both Saturday and Sunday at 2:30pm. Cameron Cockrell will be ground crew and Wyche T. Coleman and I will be announcing. I have made a great CD of upbeat music to play while the demo is going on and it should be really exciting. Also, Bill's Skydive Louisiana has a booth between the B-52 and B-1. So, if you are in the Shreveport/Bossier City, Louisiana area, come out! ..................................................................... PMS#28, Pelogrande Rodriguez#1074 My Pink M -
Actually, that's not anywhere near the truth of their stint on the show. At least, not for Michelle Rodriguez. Read this. Yadda, yadda, yadda - people will say whatever protects them. She and the producers say that her stint on the show was to be limited and that may be true, but I think she was gotten rid of sonner than planned along with her co-hort because of their law troubles. Just my opinion.

Wm and I just watched the TiVOed episode. Go out and embarrass yourself along with the company you are working for with two DWIs and get fired...or fired upon, in this case. The producers got rid of two real-life trouble makers real quick. I think Michael is saving the hatch dude and shot himself in the arm to make it look like the hatch dude shot and killed Ana, Libby and him while he was escaping. That leaves Michael to infiltrate the group again as a "friend" even though he is working for The Others, now. Michael's character has sucked ass so far. I just hope they don't kill off Echo (like it seems they are going to do). ..................................................................... PMS#28, Pelogrande Rodriguez#1074 My Pink M

I got a tattoo in 1990 and it was stupid, so I had it removed in 1995. Back then, they used a Ruby Laser and because I had so much yellow, it never fully went away even after 8 treatments. (The thing was only an inch square.) So, it ended up looking like a "what-the-fuck-is-that?" tattoo. So, I got another one to cover that one up. Much better.

We got Bush! I wonder if this will be the Saints next bumper sticker? I am excited about the Saints choice - suprising as it was based on the Texan's first choice. I have been a Saints fan since birth and even though it is a hard team to cheer for, I love them - just despise their owner, Tom Benson. He's a jack ass. ..................................................................... PMS#28, Pelogrande Rodriguez#1074 My Pink M

Nice opportunity. I read about the gearboxes not too long ago, but I certainly wouldn't turn one down if someone offered it to me. It is a beautiful ride. But one question, my husband and I were fueding a while back on the pronunciation of McLaren. Who is right? MICK-la-REN or MICK-LA-ren? Or is neither of us right? ..................................................................... PMS#28, Pelogrande Rodriguez#1074 My Pink M
