  1. feel free to post exact amounts to rub it in my face. I can take it....
  2. Just curious. I'm still sitting at zero. weather is getting better and hope to get up in the air in the next few weeks. I welcome the warmer weather to come...
  3. every time I try to search for someone by their real name the the current page just reloads and the field turns back to username. This started after it went from either "first" or "last" name to just "real name" . any ideas?
  4. I was flipping threw thew the channels last night and caught the tail end of the Bachelor. He had pick 15 out of 25 woman to stay on the show and on his last choice he accidentaly called out the wrong girls name. They ended up letting her stay out of pitty from the screwup. Pretty funny to watch these woman giving each other death stares and bitchy looks.
  5. I have learned so much at the DZ but I have also learned quite a bit here as well. I try to combine both sources together deciding what I agree or disagree with. I think here you get more opinions on a subjuect which ultimately makes me think about about something more. This is a good thing. Remember this is a two-way street. A lot of what we learn here comes from what happened on some DZ ,and then we are able to take that information back and share it at our own DZ.
  6. I think it's a good idea to have one. Now if you do end up needing it just don't drop it!
  7. Well Dave, since you are in Texas, I reccomend wearing a side arm. That way when the priest says his "does anyone object to this marriage" line, if someone pipes up you can just shoot them.
  8. I was just curious for those of you that frequent the tunnel if you count your tunnel time towards your total ff time ?
  9. I've been and didn't overly care for it. Mind you my real beef was with the S/L progression and after about 4 jumps basicly said screw this and persued PFF elsewhere. With your own gear and being a liscened skydiver I'm sure the perception would be different.
  10. I totaly agree. The matrix SHOULD have stopped at film 1. Revolutions was the worst one. On the other hand you have Kill Bill which I enjoyed immensely. It's quite graphic and somewhat vulgar but a kick ass movie if that stuff doesn't bother you.
  11. How far are you willing to drive? If your into bigger jump planes Skydive Burnaby has the only full time otter (arrives mid May) and Niagara Skydive has a king air. Since they are both in southern ontario it's a bit of a drive from Borden but can be well worth it. Skydive Toronto is much closer to you (never been there) but probably worth checking out. Skydive Burnaby is my #1 choice but it's my home DZ so I may be slighty biased
  12. Congrats. just so you know (since your new) this goes in the "introductions and greetings" forum, so don't be too suprised when it gets moved.
  13. the most beautiful sunset on a "sunset" load. Wish I had a camera.
  14. My first freefall was similar. I think I went into this awe state from the new feeling of ff and before I know it, it was time to pull. I had it video taped so watching it that night while still high from the experience I let the video fill in the blanks. I was much more aware on my second ff. I'm sure you will feel the same. Enjoy it
  15. I like the sky in the 3rd pic. Did you paint that yourself?

    The BASE Zone

I am a skydiver. I have never done a BASE jump. All the same I am very interested in BASE, and like reading posts on the BASE forum. I agree they are not the same thing but since they are related I think this BASE forum on dropzone.com is ideal. Who is most likely to get into BASE? Skydivers. This site seems to be a place that a lot of skydivers go so I think it all fits.
  17. Although it is not a requirement to finish the AFF program, you do need to be able to pack before you get your A license (under CSPA anyways).
  18. I especially like picture 0327, It looks like some action shot from a movie. Kinda looks like you just kicked Nancy and she's flying backwards. Sweet pictures!
  19. Click on this thread? Always make sure your cypres(if you have one) is on BEFORE you get into the plane.
  20. One in the tail (probably the gromet on the bag rubbing from opening) and two even smaller holes about an inch apart and located about 3 inches in from the seem of the nose (more to the left side) on the topskin. The canopy is F-111 and it has been reccomended that since the holes are so small just tape them up with some tape at the DZ (not sure what kind of tape it is). Any Thoughts on that?
  21. thats a really good Idea, Having jumpers picked up in Victoria. I was in Victoria last year around the time of the boogie but no experience to participate. But I won't be out west this year. BC is on the top of my list for places I would like to live. IF you make your way east you should check out Skydive Burnaby. We have an otter full time and lots of great people to keep it going!. Hope the Boogie is a blast!
  22. Thats great! Throw him a little party! Maybe treat him to a tandem (if he doesn't jump).
  23. I've been in the excess of 230 km/h (143 miles/h) on smaller hi-ways before. Didn't get caught. I did get caught driving 138, 139 and 132 in a 100 (km/h) within about a year so now I only drive around 115 in a 100. I can't really afford to speed let alone my insurance rate. Have fun speeding just don't get caught.
  24. That should add some excitement to the DZ, do a 2-way with the pooch. You can pull for him when it's time and hope he lands ok. Should be a slow decent with the weight of that dog
