  1. Maybe you phrased the question poorly and the person you spoke with at Sony didn't really understand. By "replaced", they might think you're talking about the internal lens. But "attached", yeah, it looks like from the specs and from the picture where you can see the threading for lense attachments, we can put 30mm wide angle lenses on it. Btw, B&H is listing them for April delivery. Funny though, in there search options, it wasn't listed under the HDV camcorders, just the DV list, on the second page. I think what some amateur cameraflyers have been waiting for has finally arrived: "You can even shoot HD video and take a 2.3-megapixel still at the same time." Therefore no need for a seperate video and still camera. Now, if there is only a remote shutter release switch for this function... But if you're spending this much money on a camera to jump with, you're probably not an amateur. And if you're not an amateur, you're still shooting a better still camera than 2.3 mp. peace Karen Lewis http://www.exitshot.com
  2. Agreed. Don't be intimidated by the size of Perris. Perris has everything. And for new jumpers, check out organizing and other guidance coming from FURY. http://www.perrisperformanceplus.com/fury.htm FURY is developing more programs to guide young jumpers. Email Christy and she'll get you started. Karen Lewis http://www.exitshot.com
  3. I love you too. My heart goes out to you. I know Chad was the love of your life. I was so happy to see you two get together. He was so full of life and always so happy. I've been thinking of you ever since we got the news. If you need someone to talk to or a place to go, you have my number. I am here for you. You're in my thoughts and prayers, as are the rest of Chad's family. BSBD Karen Lewis http://www.exitshot.com

  5. It's easy. Some of them are long thingys out the door, some aren't. Just watch out for the 1. peace lew http://www.exitshot.com
  6. I was asking what the cameraflyer gets TOTAL for doing the video and stills. Standard is usually around $30 for video, some places include stills some don't. So if you do sell video plus DIGITAL stills, what is your total earning for the jump? peace lew http://www.exitshot.com
  7. What dropzones are giving a cd with digital stills to tandem/aff students (along with the video)? How much does the cameraflyer get paid? Is it more than it was with shooting a film camera? Do the cameraflyers have to have their own digital camera to use on all the student jumps? Obviously it can be a lot of wear and tear on the camera. Digital cameras are much more expensive to have than just a film camera, so does your dropzone pay the camera flyers more to offset that expense? Thanks lew http://www.exitshot.com
  8. I missed this thread first time around.... Here's a pic from that jump. and yes, please don't ever forget one index finger means PULL. peace lew http://www.exitshot.com

  11. For a x-brace that opens sweet, try a Xaos-21 by Precision. I'm loading an 88 at around 2.2 without weight and up to 2.5 with weight. LOVE IT! I jump camera most of the time and get awesome openings and swoops... peace lew http://www.exitshot.com

  15. Greg come to Perris and get coaching from Clint or JC. You can also read Brian's book and try things up high. I highly recommend a neptune. Practice up high and get a feel for how much altitude you lose with a 90 carving front riser... peace lew http://www.exitshot.com
  16. I like the design of the site. However, I didn't even notice the copyright until I looked cery carefully and found it in corners. And you can easily copy the photos by right-clicking. Is this your intentions? You do say this on the site: But seriously, to avoid abusive use, the copyright should be plastered huge ove the whole image, like a watermark. Anyone can copy and use the "high resolution" photos that are posted on there. Which, if that's your intentions, ok then. I hope those posting photos understand they could be taken and misused by people like SkyRide. But as a professional photographer, I certainly wouldn't post any photos on your site. I do really like the design of the site though. peace lew http://www.exitshot.com
  17. Dress for success. I have worn camera wings on an AFF jump (without using the thumb loops). You have to be able to match the students fall rate. peace lew http://www.exitshot.com
  18. Thank you for your enthusiasm. But yes, that does kinda break rules. You can put a link up instead to the photo gallery on the freefall.com website. (Or if you really want to use it that bad, and would like to talk about paying for the right to use the photo, send me a PM.) Thank you. peace lew http://www.exitshot.com
  19. Hi. I got my tandem rating about a year after I broke my femur. I am about 98% back to normal from the femur fx. I started jumping 4 months after i broke it, but wouldn't have felt confident with my strength at that point to do tandems. The rod is still in my leg and will stay there until it becomes a problem, which it's not at all now, so I don't even think about it. I've done about 300 tandems and never think about my leg being an issue. Sometimes when I run after about 4 miles I feel soreness in that leg before any other, but otherwise it's fine. And some tandems make me feel like I'm an amusement park ride, but most of the time I enjoy the interaction and meeting new people and they appreciate it. peace lew http://www.exitshot.com
  20. wow, i can't believe skydiving is winning in the polls, I voted for climbing. I'm going to do another multi-pitch tomorrow and it scares me way more than skydiving, even swooping... peace lew http://www.exitshot.com
  21. Hey can we get back to talking about my photo now? thanks lew http://www.exitshot.com
  22. In the spirit of all the new rock climbing threads, lets start this debate. I do both, but far more skydiving. So my vote is of course for... peace lew http://www.exitshot.com
  23. Gatorz are awesome. Just bend them to fit your face tight, use a croakie and make sure it's on there well. I love my Gatorz, and the company is awesome. Great warranty. If anyone wants to check out a few different pairs, find me in Perris. peace lew http://www.exitshot.com
  24. AH! Don't sell out man. If he wants photos for his stock library, tell him to take them. Never sign away the rights to your photos. Keep some sort of royalties. If you sell out for one flat fee, he could make money off of you indefinitely. Photo credit is nice and all, but real publishers pay for services including photography. You can bet the magazines will pay nicely if they choose to use any of your photos from his stock library. And be careful of doing something for free, even just once, because then people expect you to do it for free and it's difficult to then put a value on your work. peace lew http://www.exitshot.com
  25. Who wouldn't want to be on a team with us??? Next year is going to ROCK! peace lew jump with me, i'll make ya famous! http://www.exitshot.com
