  1. Patrick, I'd love for another WFFC. Don will definitely need to invest to get interest up, so who knows... So, where would you go instead? i know you'll need your favorite camera flyer there. Karen http://www.exitshot.com
  2. I've got some photos of it posted: www.shutterfly.com/pro/lew/skydive Karen http://www.exitshot.com
  3. No problem. If you see me just ask. I'll throw it on my charger for you. Karen (Lew) http://www.exitshot.com
  4. Considering it's not only discontinued but about impossible to find anywhere, and that it's one of the highest quality PC's they ever made, yeah, that's a great deal. I've got two of them. One I bought new for $1300 about 3 years ago, and the other I bought refurbed for $800 2 years ago. It's a great workhorse camera, I have thousands of jumps on each of mine. 6. Thank you everyone! I haven't even seen it yet. :) I think I'm the last one to get the magazine. You guys rock! Big congrats to the POPS jumpers who completed the record on the last jump on the last day! And a big thank you from me to Craig O'Brien, Dan BC, and all the Pops organizers. 7. Give it to them for free, assuming it's just for personal use. Instructor to instructor... I'm sure the favor will return to you someday... http://www.exitshot.com
  8. I work in Perris, so of course I'm going to say come to Perris. But if you can come during the week, you will get a lot more personal attention. Weekends are fine if that's the only time you have, it's fun to be around when it's busy. But as for learning on a more personal level, weekdays are better. Yes, we are the bigger busier dropzone, but we also have otters (the big jump planes) flying every day. Getting a load up is almost never a problem. All of the instructors here are excellent. And we have a restaurant/bar, pool, windtunnel, bigger store with more gear rental options. If you have any questions, let me know, I'm an instructor at the school in Perris. Elsinore is great too, they especially throw great parties... check out Chicks Rock there. Karen http://www.exitshot.com
  9. My money is on Christy. http://www.exitshot.com
  10. Blue Skies Mom Stewart... I was one of her sky children, and I am very grateful for all that she and the whole Stewart family did for me and for the sport. Richmond will always be my home, and the Stewarts will always be my family. As you go West Janie, I'll say my farewell... Thank you. And to all the Stewart extended family, my heart is with you. Any locals? Anything jumpable in that area? Thanks http://www.exitshot.com
  12. Thanks for sharing those photos Chris! Does anyone know the other guy that was taking photos? He gave me a card but it was in my wallet which was stolen a few days ago. He was there for the freestyle round. Nice guy, I'm just drawing a blank on his name. Thanks! Karen aka lew http://www.exitshot.com
  13. Cool! Thanks for posting that! http://www.exitshot.com
  14. My first impression of Dale was, well, not good. He was over to my house with friends Jon and Jen, and he came speeding down the road, flipped a U turn and slammed on the brakes, just making quite a scene in this little quiet neighborhood with kids everywhere... When he got out of the car, I thought, oh man, this guy is reckless and rude... Boy was I wrong. He came back to visit sometime later, Jon asked if he could stay here a while. I was reluctant at first, but trusting Jon's word, I gave him a second chance. Not only did he turn out to be a nice and considerate guy, he went over the top to show me he wasn't the punk I first thought he was. He hung my ceiling fans and blinds for me, just because. I am glad I got to know him. I am sorry he is gone. My heart goes out to all his close friends and family. -Karen (lew) http://www.exitshot.com
  15. He might be gone, but I'm sure he's still smiling. The team, FAF, won't be the same without him. I can't make the services in person, but I will be there in spirit. To all the FAF and chicago crew, I love you guys. -Karen (lew) http://www.exitshot.com
  16. Wow. Sad and shocking. He will be missed. Last time I spoke with him he was proudly showing me pictures of his girls and telling me all about them. My heart goes out to the family he left behind. peace karen http://www.exitshot.com
  17. WOW, THANK YOU EVERYONE!!!! The turn-out was fantastic. The whole event was a huge success. We well-surpassed our goal of $12,500 towards Koji's rehab. I am truly touched by the support within the community and family in Perris. We sold out of all the raffle tickets, gave away over 50 prizes in the raffles. Had 40-some prizes in the auction, for which nearly everything was bid on and sold. There was quite a war amongst some of the Perris locals over some of the prizes. It was so much fun. It was great to see everyone in their "How High We Now?" t-shirts, of which all the proceeds went to Koji's rehab. What a fantastic day and night. And it was absolutely awesome to have Koji and Sachiko back on the dz. Koji thanked and hung out all evening. He's been going to Project Walk since Tuesday and is very excited about the rehab. You all amaze me. Thanks again to everyone! Sincerely, Lew (Karen Lewis) http://www.exitshot.com
  18. Thank you to everyone who keeps donating to the cause. We also have a personal trainer gift certificate, a ride in a steerman biplane, a nice watch, a viso altimeter, ground launchng, custom paint job on a helmet from Misty, dinner at the Magic Castle in Hollywood, a 2 night stay/getaway package for San Diego, more necklaces and other small stuff. I'm buying more raffle tickets! We've got a lot of cool donations! PD is here, tent set up, they will be demoing canopies this weekend. We had a beautiful sunny day here in Perris today! All four of the Fury 8way teams are training, swoopers and freeflyers are here. Super Otter is getting an exciting new paint job... The school is super busy this weekend as well. It's going to rock! Koji will be here Saturday evening, his first time back on the dropzone since the accident. I hope to see everyone there. Thanks again to everyone in the community who has contributed! 19. Make the check out to: W 4 Project W No need to mention Koji, that is only for Koji. Thanks! Lew http://www.exitshot.com
  20. On January 24, 2007, Koji Mizoi, a long time cameraflyer and instructor at Perris Valley Skydiving, had a slink failure just before landing. He lost his right front riser group, spun and landed hard on the dirt. He suffered a C-7, incomplete, spinal cord injury, leaving him without the use of his legs and very limited use of his hands. Friends of Koji and Perris Valley Skydiving are having a Benefit for Koji on April 28, 2007. There will be a silent auction, raffle, dinner and music, poker tournament, and gear discussion with PD representatives. There are numerous donations for prizes in the auction and raffle, including jump tickets, helmets, altimeters, tunnel time, coaching from Fury and other accomplished Perris coaches, video jumps, DVD's from Fury and Flyboys, an electric bicycle, Jet jump, pack jobs, reserve repacks, Container, Ground Launching package, massages, t-shirts, necklace, watch, VRW books, and more. Our goal is to raise $12,500 for Koji's Rehab. The rehab that will give him the best possible chance at getting back everything he possibly can is Project Walk Spinal Cord Injury Recovery in Carlsbad, California. Project Walk is a "non-profit organization and an intense exercise-based recovery program." It is also very expensive and not covered by any insurance or Medi-Cal. You can send donations to: W 4 Project W PO Box 32 Perris CA 92570 You can visit their website: projectwalk.org. For more info. contact Linda Witte: [email protected] 951-678-1973 or Karen Lewis - 951-378-1010 The discussion of this incident is here: http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=2637625#2637625. Every dollar or donation, small or large, helps Koji. Thank you in advance for you help. http://www.exitshot.com

  24. jump numbers = landings = experience = good judgement = keep you alive lack of experience = bad judgment = leads to bad experiences (aka injury) Let's hear your take again on this when you have 1000 jumps... 2000 jumps... 4000 jumps Can you imagine someone with 100 jumps telling you something like this? those that survive long enough... by listening to those that already have. Listen to Chuck. Don't be that guy. Respectfully, Lew http://www.exitshot.com
