  1. Yeah AIRKIX!!!!! Way to go Emma, Jules, Amanda and Sparky! (and Andy!) peace lew http://www.exitshot.com
  2. I feel the weight on the ground and occasionally on opening. I think the key is having a reliable soft opening canopy. You probably aren't ready for it yet, but my XAOS-21 opens like a dream. I never worry about openings with it. peace karen lewis http://www.exitshot.com
  3. ouch. Wait, how many did you buy? peace lew http://www.exitshot.com
  4. Go to Mullins place in West Tennessee. It's a bit far but worth the drive. The Mullins family is awesome. They will take good care of you. And the airplane... You won't be dissapointed. http://www.skydivekingair.com/ peace lew http://www.exitshot.com
  5. Thank you Joe for the article. I fly camera for a living too, but not in the big screan realm like you. It's always interesting to hear what really goes into the shoots. Sounds like too much ground time :) I'm sure you have a long list of other camerafliers to call on, but if you ever need one more, I'm in Perris just about every day. I'll be looking forward to any other articles you write. Peace Lew aka Karen Lewis http://www.exitshot.com
  6. Thanks Jim. I found a photo to share... peace lew http://www.exitshot.com
  7. But of course.... I love you too Chuckie. Missed you this year... Am I going to have to come east to hang out with you? peace lew http://www.exitshot.com
  8. I love it. I know the photog and the jumpers so it's cool to see them there. Yeah, but if you didn't know any of them? I don't like it for simple basic photography composition and lighting. Besides you can barely tell they are skydiving. For once, it's too close. In my opinion. I've got nothing against the custumes, but the costumes alone shouldn't warrant coverphoto quality. The photo and composition itself also has to measure up. And here, I don't think it does. peace lew http://www.exitshot.com
  9. Maybe I should clarify. The motorcycle stunt had nothing to do with aircraft, parachutes or skydiving whatsoever. They simply used the nice long paved runway to build speed on a motorcycle to do wheelies. And Stunt Junkies isn't just about base, it just was originally hosted by Jeb. There are all kinds of different stunts. peace lew (thanks for the photo Olivia. Hey Olivia, is the rantoul swoop video posted anywhere?) http://www.exitshot.com
  10. Yes, Eli Thompson is hosting it. They also filmed a motorcycle stunt episode here in Perris. Not sure when that one is being aired. peace lew http://www.exitshot.com
  11. Do you like the cover photo on this month's Parachutist? (The three presidents) peace lew http://www.exitshot.com
  12. I just want to swoop. ... http://www.exitshot.com
  13. I've done 7 JET jumps so far. You can't jump it if your not here. weather will be great tomorrow, unlike yesterday. lew http://www.exitshot.com
  14. It was 85 and beautiful here in Rantoul today. Ride to altitude was 5 minutes. Got 15 jumps in, packed them all myself. swooped the pond. jumped the helicopter. Met some cool people from the UK and Guatemala and Michigan, to name a few. Planes were turning all day long. peace Karen Lewis http://www.exitshot.com
  15. I just can't believe it. Mariann was such a good skydiver, and more importantly, such an amazing person. She truly had a beautiful soul. If you knew her, you were blessed. She was amazing. peace Karen Lewis http://www.exitshot.com
  16. about 14,300 AGL Karen Lewis http://www.exitshot.com
  17. I think it's 130 knots. Not that bad. And I did THREE JET JUMPS TODAY... Woohoo. The oxygen masks fell a couple times. The pressurization, or lack there of, cause an instant cloud inside the jet. I landed out all three times, but not too far out. There is a good amount of people here. Mullins, an Otter, the Skyvan, a Casa or two, the biplane were all turning loads almost all day long. The balloon loads were full tonight. And the helicopter was flying, along with a glider dropping jumpers. The locals are great, there are two types of free beer. The Bitles band, beetles cover band, was pretty good last night. The swoop pond is plush. I've got photos to edit... Where are you? peace Karen Lewis http://www.exitshot.com
  18. Here's the first guy out... :) I've done two jet jumps already.... where are you? peace Karen Lewis http://www.exitshot.com
  19. No, it's raining right now. Jet load 1 is rescheduled for 9am tomorrow. peace Karen Lewis http://www.exitshot.com
  20. here are some pictures... The ride here was very, very nice. The jump will be tomorrow, and I'll post a photo afterwards... peace Karen Lewis http://www.exitshot.com
  21. Yeah, I have a house 1 mile from Perris but it's full right now. I woke up to the jet taking off this morning. When are you coming out? The IHOP is ok, but you might share a room with people you don't know. Do NOT stay at the Days Inn in Perris. Several people have been robbed there. There's a nice new Hampton on the 74 out towards Hemet. It's a 15 minute drive from the dropzone. There's also two other "bunkhouses" owned by the chief pilot and and a local skydiver. If you call manifest, and ask for Rob's info about the bunkhouse, they'll hook you up. peae Karen Lewis http://www.exitshot.com
  22. I watched the jet do one more test flight in Perris today. And I was told by the chief pilot today that the jet will leave Thursday for Rantoul and return to Perris on the 31st (unless Pat wants to detour somewhere on the way home). He said the jet should be taking jumpers everyday. Most likely a sunrise and/or sunset load. And trust everyone in Perris that they've been working on this for years, not waiting till last minute. It's just been that much work with the FAA. Who's coming to jump the jet? peace Karen Lewis http://www.exitshot.com
  23. Make sure the slider is all the way against the lines just before you roll the tail. Try rolling the tail tight and a lot. It's all about the slider. Find me in Perris and I'll help you. Forget flaking. peace Karen Lewis http://www.exitshot.com
