Are you Americans crazy enough to put Donald Trump in office?

****** But one thing is for sure, the people are not wrong, we just don't know exactly what it is they are saying.

But Trump knows: www.bbc.com/news/election-us-2016-35648058

"You know what I really am happy about, because I've been saying it for a long time," Trump told supporters in his victory speech early Wednesday. "46 percent with the Hispanics ... number one with Hispanics!"

Despite the apparently impressive result, Hispanic voters only made up 8 percent of Republican caucus-goers in Nevada. By contrast, 19 percent of caucus-goers in Saturday's Democratic contest were Hispanic.

I just caught a snippet of this on TV.

At 4:40 he says, "we won the evanglicals, we won with young, we won with old, we won with the highly educated, we won with the POORLY EDUCATED...I LOVE the poorly educated!"

Whats with all the emphasis on the poorly educated, huh?:D

Trump will never win a general even agaisnt the worst dem candidate in a long time. His negatives are insane. Moderates/Indy's will never vote for him and I would not either (I'm a conservative).

Trumps negatives:

Gallup Unfavorable Ratings:
Vladimir Putin, 69%;
Bashar al Assad, 68%;
Bill Cosby, 62%;
Al Sharpton, 62 %,
DONALD TRUMP 63%.

I have seen a couple of his speeches now, and,,,,,,,,,,,,,

I'm now assuming that God sent Trump to the party in order to ensure a Democrat wins in the fall. She also called Scalia home to make his replacement an issue and help out down ballot.

Well I do not agree with all of that..... but...

I know many conservatives like me that will not vote for Trump. Normally that does not mean much but I live in Butler County Ohio. A GOP stronghold north of Cincinnati that is really important in order to win Ohio. When I say many conservatives in this area... I mean like everyone I know. I would rather have a liberal over a populist/nationalist that cares about one thing and it's not this great country we live in.

At least with Hillary things would stay status quo... left but status quo.

On another note... with the unfavorables Clinton/Trum have, this could be the year for a 3rd party candidate. I would love a Ron Paul right now!

I've read that Bloomberg has said if it comes down to Trump vs Sanders, he may still run as an Independent.

Sanders has no path. SC will be the beginning of the end. The numbers literally give him no chance.

On the GOP side, only Rubio & Trump can win. The numbers exclude everyone else. They know it too but these are politicians so their egos will always win out.

I think Sanderrs is different. I think he is staying in to make a point and to get his message out. The same reason the Paul's give it a go every year.

I would absolutely vote for Ron, vs those two. I think he'd take a ton of votes from both sides, (when held up next to those two). I think an inanimate carbon rod would likely garner a third of the vote.

Maybe you would like the government to control everything in your life.

You use that comment so much that it's lost any meaning.
Of course I don't want the government to control everything in my life. But equally I don't want there to be no control either - you understand that there CAN be a middle way, right? Not everything is one extreme or the other? 'Cause sometimes from your posts I doubt it...

The juror analogy doesn't work because there are specialists in court - the lawyers and the judge who are there specifically to interpret and explain the convolutions of the legal code. It's up to a juror to make a decision based upon that expert information.
Personally, I don't like people who have no understanding of a situation making a decision about it that may have far-reaching consequences. If you want the responsibility of having the ability to make that decision then I think it should be be a requirement to educate yourself about it. To do otherwise is both arrogant AND ignorant.

As to moving to other countries, I would have thought that was more your type of thing. You could move to somewhere like Somalia and have no fear of people either taking your guns from you OR the government ever interfering in your life... Sounds right up your street.

I started rethinking your plan on the way to the dump yesterday. I believe you may be on to something.

Ya know, Ron, that there's just offensive in its assumptions. Why not just go ahead and write "nigger" out while you're at it? It'd be more honest. There's no law against words. There just are consequences for using them in terms of people's opinions now.

Do you also think that these civics tests should also be applied based on the profiling that you espouse?

I'm troubled by low-information voters too; people who think that anger is a good rationale for choosing a candidate; people who think that a particular static status quo can be maintained in a human stew pot

I've got no comment at all on the racist attitudes of hill "Christians", the words speak for themselves. But as to who should and should not vote? Consider this:

What percentage of registered voters actually vote?

Overall, OECD countries experience turnout rates of about 70%, while in the U.S., about 60% of the voting eligible population votes during presidential election years, and about 40% votes during midterm elections.

The problem is not too many "low information" voters. The problem is a population that can't even be bothered. And it's not all that much better up here in Canada.

One can, without consequence, offend people who either:
1. don't hear what's being said (that's kind of chickenshit, isn't it?)
2. are powerless to object (that's even more chickenshit, not to mention bullying)
(note: offensive language is a sensitive topic; if you use it without intending to offend, then beware that it stands a better chance of being misunderstood. Kind of like groping babes at the office).

The "problem" is that the power dynamic has changed in the country enough now that you can't just throw the n-bomb around without paying any attention. "those people" actually can stand up for themselves, and/or have others stand with them.

This kind of change in the power dynamic is also where the "black lives matter" movement comes from. In the past, most black lives mattered only to other black people, or to people whose jobs it was to have them matter. Note how much more attention a cute little white girl who's been kidnapped gets in the media than an equally cute little black boy. The point is that all those people, and their opinions, matter equally to the ones who always mattered to society at large (and not just to small segments). They don't matter more; they just don't matter less, either.

Unfortunately, it seems that money is becoming the primary arbiter to mattering in the US [:/]

Hi Wendy,

I've always thought that the "black lives matter" slogan is simply missing a word. It should be thought of as "Black lives matter too". Of course, that is what it means when you consider the subtext. But so many people choose to ignore that fact.

It's human nature to care more about people we can easily identify with than those who are more different from us. It's up to each of us to do what we can personally about that.

Ron knows exactly what he is doing when he uses that language. It's not an accident, it's carefully thought out. He feels safe using it here, and yes he demonstrates cowardice doing so. (Unless he speaks that way when he loads up his weapons and heads to the city where the unwashed ones live.)

Well I'll be damned. It seems to be within the rules to me.

OK, have a good day.

It would help if you could simply stop ignoring the "unnecessarily racist" part.
;)

Yeah, I thought it was part of the point, not racist. I was telling yoink that his idea was tried before and eventually outlawed.

Only one type harder to deal with than a racist personality. That is a politically correct one.

BTW, the expression was very common in the '50s and '60s in my area.
