Is anyone keeping score?

Democrats vs. Republicans

Liberals vs. Conservatives

Christians vs. Others

Who gives A FLYING FUCK[/B] about keeping score?!?!?!? Why does this have to be partisan?

How will this ever get any better if a significant section of society says 'well that's a Christian (or Democrat, or Republican, or [insert group here]) problem'? Is there anything more important than petty point-scoring for you?

I thought some liberal types would have already done it. I was given them opportunity. And a Happy Thanksgiving to you.

Looks to me like scumbaggery is equal opportunity with regard to party.

Ron,

You are impossible. Because you are so locked into your beliefs and your holy book you simply cannot see any other position but your own. You have zero desire to learn from anyones perspective. It's either we agree with you or we are all wrong.

Go proselytize somewhere else, door to door for example. Here you can hide, not answer, equivocate, go to another thread and so on.

I'm serious. I see this forum as your low effort way to spread the word to fulfill your obligation with no real inconvenience.

Please explain to me how Barton is a scumbag. He was on his way to a divorce, had concensual sex with women. He was photographed. I didn't hear anyone saying the women he was with were tricked into being photographed. I didn't hear anyone saying he was having sex with a goat in the photo.

We've come to expect perfection in our politicians and are shocked when we find out they are just people. Of course the media doesn't care. If they can put 'nude' and 'congressmen' in the same sentence they are overjoyed.

I know very little about this man or this case. But from what I've heard I have to completely agree with you. We elect people and they act like people.

I hope you had a good Thanksgiving. You puzzled me again. I don't see the relationship of your response to my post. But to answer you, I do go out into my community.

I belong to a group of Christian veterans that provide services to vets that fall outside the range of the VA. We help with mortgage and rent payments, employment, home repairs, etc. Today I am meeting with a former 101st ABN vet, now contractor, to determine an estimate for repair to a mobile home for a Navy vet with cancer.

Maybe the whole lot of them should resign and we can start over.

And who do you think would fill the void?

I recall when most of City Hall in Camden got sent up the river, their replacements started stealing as much as they could the moment they took office. The message they seemed to take from their predecessors was not so much that stealing was a bad thing as it was that their opportunity to do so was time-limited, so they had best get to it forthwith.

It's like shooing flies away from a pile of shit. What do you expect to replace them, butterflies?

I agree with you but the picture was an admitted selfie. It was taken when he was 66 years old. While there is nothing illegal or immoral about this. It show as absolute lack of judgement.

Lapses of judgement are human. IMO his LONG history can be properly judged by his constituents best. As they can compare that lapse against his long history of other decision making and representation.

Nude selfies given the leaky nature of the internet should be properly attributed to the decision making skills of teenagers. There are the allegations of "revenge-porn" but that is all part and parcel of the poor judgement of Mr. Barton, in this instance. Further reason why this is a teen type decision making lapse of judgement.

There are 535 members in the house and senate.

"New research on the growth in the scope and scale of felony convictions finds that, as of 2010, 3 percent of the total US population and 15 percent of the African-American male population have served time in prison. People with felony convictions more broadly account for 8 percent of the overall population and 33 percent of the African-American male population."

Which suggest that representatives are several magnitudes more law abiding than the general population. Generalizing combined with the tribalization of political views. Leads to the thinking that "they are all corrupt". Which certainly can be true on some specific political issues. Core to party beliefs.

We sure do! Your answer is that neither standards nor good character have any relevance in a leader. The only thing that matters is if he or she has been chosen by god to help the country, and the only way to tell that is by checking if they have an R or a D by their name.

Hence the committed Christian Obama with the faithful, settles family life was always going to be a scourge on the nation, and the historically godless Trump with a string of ex-wives, and trail of abuse, theft and fraud is a blessing sent from the almighty.
Do you want to have an ideagasm?

Well, a good place to start "effecting the change in leadership" is to elect people who can actually lead.

Not electing people who are con men, frauds and sexual predators.

Unless that sort of "leadership" is what you actually want.

There are lots of "moral standards" that can be used to decide if someone is "moral enough" to serve.

There's ten of them in that book you like so much. There's a lot more in the later parts. The teachings of Jesus are pretty "moral".

But again, those standards have to be actually applied to have any effect.
Excusing the behavior of someone, claiming that accusations are just "fake news", saying "I know he's a sexual predator, but he's better than a liberal" are not ways of getting people of good character in office.

Unless, of course you consider Trump and Moore to have "good character" and actually want them in office.

Agree.

I want to be able to choose between two qualified politicians not choose between the lesser of two evils.

How often do we get that chance on the national level?

This is the best illustration of the limits of your ability or willingness to accept "others" that I have seen. It is very hard for me to separate your religious views from your political views. You seem to be doing your best to give Christians a bad name. But you can't fool me. I know many Christians who do not hold such evil inside.

Zero divorces.
Zero mistresses.
Zero accusations of sexual misconduct.
Only one wife.
(sounds almost biblical christian so far, which he is)
Zero bankruptcies.
Zero treasonous acts.
Zero investigations.
He worked for ALL Americans.

Yeah, who wants such decency in the oval office???

Your depth of hatred still surprises me.

No, not really.

Here is one reference.

http://www.crisismagazine.com/2012/frank-marshall-davis-obamas-communist-mentor-on-the-catholic-church

He attended and was married in a Liberation Theology Church. That ideology came up of South and Central America sponsored in the beginning by the Soviet Union.

And, we all have seen how he bowed to the Muslims, how he refused to call them Islamic terrorists, how he favored Ramadan over the National Day of Prayer, the list goes on and on.

Yeah. Right. Sure.

Obama was so determined to "destroy our way of life" that he completely failed to do so in 8 years.

Thanks for proving Gowlerk's point.

Your hatred is rather obvious.

Thank you, I had a fine Thanksgiving. Ron, I respect your good works and do not doubt it is a constant feature of your life. I'll give it to you in spades that our vets are often short changed by the system and folks like yourself and your friends are doing work that is the governments responsibility.

But there it is, right? Are you opposed to government social programs that would help vets? How about other citizens, too? Conservative politics yield less social help, not liberal politics, you get that, right?

Your puzzlement was well founded. In fact my response was not only related to your post, it was in response to you generally. You truly do not give a second thought to viewpoints adverse to your own Christian understanding. You tell us how it is and when it suits you no more you move on. Prove me wrong.

And then there is this: "Sin is a fundamental relationship— it is not wrong doing, but wrong being— it is deliberate and determined independence from God. ~O. Chambers"

That is woo-woo. It is also fair game as you've referred to it by way of explanation and defense of your positions.

Here's one for you: Sin is the callous indifference to the plight of others.

So -

Man who went to a church that was once sponsored by the Soviet Union - evil

Man who had Putin working to ensure his election, and whose campaign has admitted to lying about his Russian contacts - hero

An excellent example of moral relativity.
