Back in the day everone wanted to swoop, no launching pieces. The person spotting would sit on his butt, call cut! and leave everyone else had to run on the knee's to get out the door ASAP. Person spotting laid base, last three out got to chase and swoop. Eventually it got easier and easier to do a surprise exit and have plenty of time for a 4 way. IMO more educational than launcing the first piece and turning pt's. Small DZ's with small planes have their own culture. Jumped a Porter (my first turbine) on about jump 70, then a Beaver on about jump 110. Lots of Turbolet jumps from 200 onwards. Didn't jump an Otter, skyvan or Casa until 400+.
