    Poison Ivy

Unfortunately, my job requires that I work in Poison Ivy, so I pretty much have it from March to October every year. I constantly get re-exposed. I pulled it with my bare hands for 40 years with no probs then one year BAM! Everywhere, even in my throat and ears! That year I became a lot more careful and aware. Clothing- take it off as soon as you walk in the door don't sit on the edge of your bed or any other place while you do this, the Urishiol on your clothing gets on everything else and stays there for you to reinfect yourself. By the way, I finally figured out my tennis shoe strings were the reason my fingers were constantly inflamed. Tools- Wash them off with strong soap if you have used them in an area likely to have poison ivy Body- Use the most astringent soap you can stand and take a HOT HOT shower from head to toe. You have to get rid of the Urishiol that may be anywhere on you. Pets- Don't let them run in poison ivy areas, and this may be your back yard, even well manicured areas, so learn to identify it. If your pets are indoor/outdoor wash them in really astringent PEOPLE shampoo, not pet shampoo. Pet shampoos don't cut the Urishiol. I find I get the most relief from hot water run over the blisters. If I do this for a couple of minutes a couple of times a day, no pain, and they dry out fast. If it's bad I take an antihystimine at night before I go to bed. The only time I ever resorted to steroids was the year that my throat and mouth were involved. To me, that seemed potentially dangerous. Otherwise, it's just a pain in the A$$ Little known fact, poison ivy seeds are one of the favorite foods of many songbirds. This is the reason I don't encourage my clients to iradicate it from their wooded areas. We can go without visiting every inch of the woods in favor of having a great variety of birds visiting us! skydiveTaylorville.org [email protected]
  4. sad to say this happens, but it does. It really hurts me when it does, because I think of most skydivers as family, and would usually help them out if they needed it. When someone takes one little itty bitty thing that doesn't belong to them, say a bumper sticker, a waiver, or some dz poster, I NEVER trust them again. I figure if they steal small, they will steal big if given a chance. skydiveTaylorville.org [email protected]

  13. I have known plenty of black people with names that were on those lists. I think it's difficult to keep up with black names when they start being so made up that they are un-pronounceable. like Des'Asheintia. prounced dshawn. wtf? like life isn't hard enough. Put that on a kids McDonalds name badge and listen to them explain it. Like I did.. skydiveTaylorville.org [email protected]

  16. I have never owned a gun, I have never been in favor of people owning guns. BUT I believe that in this country, I have the right to own a gun, and that that right is in jeapordy. I have seriously been thinking of getting a gun, before that right is taken away from me. skydiveTaylorville.org [email protected]

    Botanical help

I think it looks like linum usitatissim, but it is difficult to tell from the pics. Marijuana (hemp) was grown here in Illinois during WWII, and has reseeded into lots of ditches. Hence it's nickname, ditchweed. It's just as illegal to pick that as good stuff grown in much more tropical climes. From what I have heard, it's crap. skydiveTaylorville.org [email protected]
  18. It must be hot where you are and you must be getting dizzy and confused. Wendy dizzy and confused?! NEVER! skydiveTaylorville.org [email protected]
  19. See that is the problem. You can be married but you need one on the side just for that purpose. Ha. See I am falling right back into a thread that turns into Boobie talk. Im just as bad as the rest. Part of what made us work, is my wife doesn;t mine me doing any looking, and even a bit of touching ...I'm still anti tittie twisting though! rub, pinch, nibble, suck, lick, bounce, stair at for hours, bounce off my ears while going whobba whobba whobba,Np problem.......twisting is just not on my plate from those of us with extremely sensitive nipples, THANK YOU! skydiveTaylorville.org [email protected]

  23. Hey Everybody! Thanks for all of the input. It's hard to think of every possibility, and I am so incredibly grateful to this woman for all that she gave to us. She never had any more kids, and told my daughter that she didn't think she was "mother material". I can't imagine what she has been going through for all of these years. She will be spending nearly a week here with all of us, and although I have known about it for quite a while, it didn't occur to me until the day I posted this, that I really should THINK about this reunion, and try to plan a little of what she might like to see, or know. To all of you that suggested I PM you, I would be thrilled to do that, but I just don't know what else to ask, other than my OP. If you have suggestions, PM me, I would love to know your thoughts! skydiveTaylorville.org [email protected]
  24. Purty sure thats illegal there champ go with it, relax and dont get stressed, its a huge deal for your daughter, possibly more than you could imagine Yea, I wasn't impressed with her use of "confidential" materials, and nobody in our family asked her to do it, she just decided she had the time and the computer to make it happen, so she did. That's a whole 'nother story! Our daughter has already met her bio mom for a weekend, and now biomom is coming to spend 5 days here with all of us. And there are ALOT of us, so it's going to be fairly overwhelming just from that standpoint! skydiveTaylorville.org [email protected]
  25. Hey J. Not much info on the website, unless I am not accessing it properly. What are the other aircraft and prices? And do you have lists from the previous scholarship winners? It would sure be cool to follow the winners and see "where are they now" Are there campsites available? What are the prices? A really good fund raiser would be if you could add a fan auction! Woohoo! Hey! Have a great boogie! skydiveTaylorville.org [email protected]
