  1. Loved it! At first I thought the music was going to be black flag and then.....
  2. The older designs and some of the newer ones that don't have gigantic don't require bulging mattress inflation. The smaller suits can get away with normal airfoils with smooth contours. As the big and bigger suit come out the super mattress inflated structure helps take some of the load off of the arms and legs of the pilot. Rigidity by pressurization.
  3. Performance is based on a lot of factors. Lack of mattress like inflation isn't one of the top indicators of poor performance. But if the skin is fluttering its killing performance plus introducing incredible drag.
  4. A lot of factors effect inflation Sangi. How well the suit fits the pilot can effect inflation for one. Some suit designs are ultra critical of the fit. For example the acro/phantom1 series had indirect inflation of the leg wings. If the suit didn't fit right the inlets could be totally obscured. This design flaw was cured with later versions of the acro/phantom with direct inlets and airlocks. Most of the mono suits ( S-fly, Matter suits) are one big internal shape. Easy to pressurize but not in every orientation to the oncoming airstream. Easy in and easy out. They have smoother contours across the span and less air mattress effect. Some suit designs feature uncomplicated but yet very effective inlets and airlocks that hold in the air pressure very effectively during transitions through less than optimum angles of attack like the Tony suits. The air mattress stays tight longer until pressurization can resume. Some elements of this design has gone back to improve versions 2 of the acro-phantom-ghost over the version 1 but tested on the stealth ( as a test bed) from the PF line. One aspect of the new V3 arm wing is the completely closed off cell with simple inlet/ airlock design. The V3 has excellent air mattress like pressurization. The newer Tony arm sleeved suits and the V3 are the only suits with completely enclosed arm wing cells.
  5. One of my crw friend has fairly standard size toggles that have a section of cut away cable wrapped by the single layer of tape and sewn closed. Pretty straight forward, low profile but still CRW worthy.
  6. Sometimes the riggers who are actually CRW dogs will be more helpfull in this department. It is sad but there is a majority of riggers ( in my local encounters) that don't know a thing about Crw specific, swoop specific mods or gear. Worse they have no desire to learn or indulge this small portion of potential customer base. I've had to make my own toggles once or twice and enjoyed the process. The hard question in CRW toggles is what you want as a lot of them are custom and the designs vary quite a bit. Not all dogs like the massive ones. Some are weighted so they stay put when you drop them. Most have something to keep the loop open for a quik grab.
  7. Why a static bottle of pressurized air when one can use the bleed air from the compressors of turbofan engines.
  8. except for when we are winded out and play paintball!!!!!! I can't believe you said that out loud!
  9. If this is what your talking about I like it. < Wrong! On a side note I started using this as my primary WS rig last year and cut the Main tray corners down all the way then bartacked the very bottom of each side and I don't have any issues. Scott C. Yes that is it exactly you boob! I can't believe they made you a plane captain.
  10. What were his thoughts on the moderm suits?
  11. I saw that at the DZ today. Part of my brain said WTF? and then the part with ADD said is it beer time yet and never gave it a second thought.
  12. Unlike most itty bitty euro countries. The kind that Rhode island can conquer with one hand tied behind its back. We have time zones from territories like Afganistan to Okinawa. Regardless I love it, it reeks of your twisted humor J'no. Talk Robi into letting you never take it down from the website. Maybe he's starting to think you are not a bM defector but more of a plant to embarrass PF. Who cares, its a great bit for second language comic. We have to jump some time, you cover the slots ( because I'm a professional) but we do. Then I'll introduce you to my Pony collection.
  13. Easy now. I remember back in 04-05 when this was strictly the birdman forum and any mention of Robi's new company or products met with exactly the treatment you describe. On another note I remember when Robi wrote the theoretical limit of how much material to hang on the human form had been reached with the S-3 and vampire. The V3 is quite the mattress itself. Which leads me back to the topic of the V3. Flew with one this weekend. It has a lot of drive at no loss of float. Didn't test it myself but from the chase pilot perspective if you are unable to flock with one you are probably an unskilled wingsuit instructor load mouth or a guy who strictly slides down sheer walls and calls it exceptional glide ratio, everybody else will do fine. Don't get me wrong it is a mattress too. And you can thank Tony for that. Hail the mattress pilots! Here here.
  14. Did you take the red pill or the blue?
  15. Lodi talk about the vibes of all the money you save and the visuals of the still fat wallet at the end of the weekend.
  16. I'll loan you either my ghost 1 in Robi colors or my new to me super mach mattress 1X with extra mattress and previous owner smell. You pick, I lovem both and both perfect for flocking. Don't plan on using either unless I get demerits. I'll be in my new super secret super macro 3.5 because Ed loves when people try to dial in new suits during challenging sequential ways. I love you too Tony don't be an anti-flock hermit.
  17. Same could be said about your fast flying V skills or at least I haven't seen you in the gliding contest winner circle or the runners up. In fact the V has turned you into an anti- flock hermit. I have a V and I love it, but I have other suits too.
  18. Cherries marinated in everclear for a few. Take em out hold stems light on fire and swallow.
  19. Maybe a customized skysystems type helmet. With either a simple aluminum universal plate or some elaborate composite top platform. I wouldn't rely on triggering stills with an O2 flow back pressure switch, maybe a remote finger switch instead. I have concerns of this style of helmet rotating forward and off on deployment if the fit isn't perfect. But I'm pretty sure you have thought of all of this already Bill and you are looking for some other angle.
  20. I got the error only twice on an XT. Both times permanently corrupting the cards and loosing the data.
  21. I remember my dad getting laid-off when the B-1 was cut in the seventies. We ended up with the B-1 later anyways. Its expensive but a good platform. Same could probably be said for the Raptor.
  22. The wingsuit community is already too friggin' political without going down that road/ Not for me- no names but there is a very easy recipe to figure the players and help "you can think outside the hype" 1 If a guy keeps telling you he's an instructor and you should fly like this or that, strike one. Worse if they keep saying its the best most stringent program ever with only carefully selected instructor candidates. 2 If a guy is dual brand instructor, kiss of death, this should be strike three because there isn't three brands. 3 A guy who regularly organizes but can't show you anything better than misaligned 8-way flock and mass mayhem exits of doom to his credit despite doing this for years. If there is a lot of hype but nothing to show for it then there you go. 4 If an instructor/organizer's events are not fun to fly in. You feel chastised and lectured but not organized. 5 If an instructor/organizer has no problem going to the DZO or S&TA to say who should or should not be flying this style or level of wingsuit or a wingsuit at all but yet can't be bothered to assist instructionally. There are exceptions to these indicators as an example dual brand rated instructor/ organizers who do organize large safe, successful, fun flights and events on a regular basses. These events speak for them selves. There are also some low profile suit brokers that despite having an instructor badge just deal in suits that don't profess great knowledge and ability and don't meddle with the hype. You can at least trust them to take a measurement.
