  1. Wait- don't these same rules impact CRW jumps?
  2. ... have you ever considered modifying a velocity for crw? seems to me to be the natural progression but...? Its been done with the FX. You would have to ask the team that did it why the FX instead of the Xaos-21 or velo.
  3. We watch it a little from time to time, make little "tsk tsk" noises and wonder how people can be such jerks. It's like watching a train wreck. You know it's ugly but it can be intensely interesting, at least for a few minutes. loved the episode when the busted butt nekkid redneck went into the closet and got out his paintball gun and had the entire crew running out to their vehicles.
  4. This is also a topic that's been done to death. Do a search and you'll find lots of discussion. We covered it a week ago, same poster. Not sure what would change in a week.
  5. Crw canopys have ,instead of one ring to attach the bridle to, Multiple rings that the bridle ( dacron line) gets retracted through the multiple rings as the canopy inflates so there is no trailing bridle to get wrapped by. Although many CRW dawgs have been entangled with the retractable dacron crw bridle hense the knive(s). If you are hell bent on doing CRW with a spectre ( I've done it, yes and a Tri, a cobalt here or there and once a velocity) you don't need a mesh slider, you can keep the sail slider. Then you can take it to terminal. You don't need a tail pocket you can keep it in the bag. One of my lightnings is set up with a bag only. But you really need dacron lines and a retractable pilot chute mod would be really nice. Dacron lines in a wrap will cut your glove finger clean to the skin , spectra lines will fillet your meat down to the bone. I've seen both. Get an old spectre that needs a new line set and go dacron. Price the line set plus labor to install before you get too excited. The retractable bridle system will be an expensive mod if you can find a rigger to do it at all. I had both mods done to an old triathalon and the service cost more than the canopy was worth....... but I have it.
  6. They just gave a complete ground course for a first flight in spanish now any hombre can do it. INS isn't going to be happy about this. They also said wingsuiters can travel 300 kilometers per hour forward. And they are the first in Mexico to do it ( beer).
  7. Thanks for putting that up Brian. Thanks again guys nice flockage.
  8. (This thread is becoming the fat bastards' and fat bastard wannabes' confessional!) Get in my belly!
  9. Why not? because of the velcro issues?? Velcro is fresh. The reserve flap opens too easy in a sit. Not enough bridle protection, riser coverage when the wind hits at various angles. I've had a toggle come out when in a fast head down and dangle at my crotch and the reserve flap is guaranteed to tap the back of my head in a sit.
  10. I have a 20 year old vector two I use and abuse as my CRW rig and back up for everything else I do. I wouldn't free fly it though.
  11. Derek Smalls got way more action than Nigel Tufnel ever did.
  12. Oh I dunno. Yeah I know the Vibe is made on the same assembly line as a Toyota of the same body somewhere in CA. Something about it being a Pontiac... I'm still wondering why I didn't just spend a couple extra grand on a better brand name. Exactly true. No need to buy the better name as one of the technicians at said plant ( our company stole him for higher tech stuff) told me the cars are exactly the same with the exception of some of the extra options that Pontiac is better at quality than yota believe it or not. The Yota will have better resale because of the name, no doubt.
  13. I bought my 94 toyota pickup with 260,000 miles, and it ran like new. Why? Would you feel better about it if it was a Toyota? 88 Toyota truck with over 500k. Rebuilt the whole engine after suffering a bad rod at 380k, milled the head after a gasket leak at 480k. I've actually been trying to kill it dead since 250k miles to buy something spiffyer. Not now after I know the longevity of the newer offerings.
  14. I can't believe you said that out loud! Can you play paintball in the rain?
  15. Don't they all when the sargent major comes near?
  16. Actually no they don't. Next thing Purple Mike will have his own Forum filled with pictures and yuri will own the math physics forum. Try a thread with titties!
  17. The two stack 3 way flew very nicely. The two under one canopy had tons of drive almost impossible for the second lightning to catch. because there were 3 video lurkers instead of one dedicated videot it was dangerous to do sachays to stay behind the stack. BTW two under one overloaded canopy after hanging on for the first half the jump make any toggle or riser input very hard.
  18. My vector split bag has not been peeled in 10 years. I pack it like a standard bag and it has been flawless. I'm not sure how to use the feature but have never relied on it. Is there a substantial difference in technique to utilize the split?
  19. 4~3.5 K. It took a long time to get them together. Like most of the first half of the skydive. Everybody was extremely exhausted. Taylor " the Bill" suffered a very unique opening shock on a previous spinal injury but didn't know it for a week.
