  1. Since it's a gift card and they are not linked to a specific person it does not seem like there is a way that the company could collect on this negative balance.
  2. I would suggest going to Elsinore. I jumped there a lot when I was a new jumper and they have a great program geared toward newer jumpers. Look on their website for weekends with the Excel program.
  3. When I went there I just walked in and talked to them. Everyone was very friendly and they gave me a great rate, something like $10 a minute. Just tell them you are a skydiver and go from there.
  4. Is it supposed to have canopy alarms? Maybe it's only made for free fall alarms. I'm sure if you pulled at 3 it would beep at you. Don't try pulling at 2 to test it
  5. I had the exact same thing happen to mine. I called and complained but there was nothing they would do for me. I don't think I was rough on the bag or overloading it. I might have carried my rig a dozen times in it and only used it when traveling.
  6. Not the best exit but it was a fun jump!
  7. The shape of it is a little different than most tunnels. It's more of an oval. Prices were pretty fair though. I flew for $10 a minute when I was there.

  9. It varies DZ to DZ how much they charge to rent a rig. At my home DZ it is $25 pr jump or $50 for the day. The problem when you rent is that you may have to share the gear with other people/students. So you may not have that gear for the entire day. You should atleast get your own basic gear. Helmet, alti, googles, jumpsuit, ect....
  10. I wouldn't use it. Looks like a good tool for poking holes in a canopy!
  11. Are you shipping it overnight or ground?
  12. Rubber bands will NOT always break when you want them to. When I had my Bag Lock I was using rubber bands. Once on the ground and the tension was off the lines/rubber bands it was somewhat easy to remove the lines. Whether you use rubber bands or tube stows there is always a possibility for a bag lock.
  13. How much do you weigh? What is your container sized for?
  14. Demo all of the canopies you can. Try a Pilot!
  15. The best way is to stay in smaller groups and know you limits.
  16. On the left hand side click on your "I-Pod" and there should be a few tabs (Music, Photo's, Apps ect..) that will appear on the main area. Click on the Apps tab and then select sync. I can't give you a better description because I don't have mine with me.
  17. I think it was at Eloy the tunnel instructor told me they sealed off the second door so they didn't have to guard it from ppl flying out of it. Not sure if they used to have 2 instructors in the tunnel, one for each door, but if that was the case then it could be to save money on instructors.
  18. GoPro is actually coming out with an HD version in December. I heard that it will retail for around $300. The original GoPro's quality is actually pretty good for inside footage but is pretty much useless for shooting outside footage.
  19. How about checking on your other post with the same subject http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=3612513;sb=post_latest_reply;so=ASC;forum_view=forum_view_collapsed;;page=unread#unread
  20. Not sure but since they got hurt on their last jump and have less upper body strength maybe they should jump something a little bigger than a 135
  21. Is that tunnel a modern tunnel (recirculated / Sky Venture) or is it the old style like Pigeon Forge / Vegas? If it's the older style than that is why you were having issue's. Those tunnels are harder to fly in since you only have a small area to work with and they are not very powerful. I would try to get to a more modern tunnel and you will learn a lot more from it.
  22. I think this is a choice you need to make. It depends on which one you are more comfortable with. Don't let a bunch of strangers online choose for you.
  23. I don't know about that camera but look at these ones here. http://www.goprocamera.com/ A bunch of people at my DZ started jumping them this weekend. The quality of the pics/video is good and the camera is cheap. $200 gets you everything you need.
