  1. Save your tip money for more jumps or beer.
  2. I think you have better options than a frap hat! The pluses that a frap hat have over no helmet are that you can put an audible in one. The down side is they look gay Kind of kidding... If you really can't find any kind of skydiving helmet look for other options. Go to a sporting goods store and see what they have. When you're looking for a helmet there try to find something that looks like it won't snag lines. Then when you find something that you think won't snag lines bring it to your instructors and ask what they think. Keep the tags on it and you can return it if they say hell no! What kind of helmet was it that you used to use there? Is that something you would consider using all the time? Ask the dzo where he got it from.
  3. Yeah and the people who play pro football have a shit load of money to spend on custom stuff...
  4. if you look here http://www.paragear.com/sizingcharts/headgear.htm you can see that some of them say 24in+. I'm not sure if you could get the extra 2 inches out of them by removing the padding. More than likely you are going to have to go custom or find a helmet somewhere else. Like a snowboarding or biking helmet? Making sure that it isn't going to be super snaggy and all!!
  5. None of the helmets you mentioned are really designed to provide you much protection from a hard hit. So having minimal padding in the helmet really won't change how much the helmet would protect you. Basically most of the skydiving helmets will protect you from minor things. Like getting kicked in the face on exit, bumping your head on the door, ect... If you're looking for something that will protect your head a lot more there are other options. Like protec. I'm sure other people or the search could help you out more.
  6. If you're going to buy a suit for belly jumping you should get it with booties and grippers. Why are you thinking about not getting them?
  7. Is it a brand new 190? I used to have an M4 and with a PD176 and a Sabre 190 that was old. It was a tighter fit. If you're trying to put a brand new canopy in it you may have some issues getting it in the bag.
  8. That's the exact reason I leave my company cell on my desk at work! Sorry but once I'm off the clock I don't want to hear or think about work.
  9. I put mine into my logbook. In my first log book I used the last few pages just for tunnel time. Now I just write it in the next open page of my current log book.
  10. Yeah that wasn't the best idea to trade mains like that! I was pretty impressed to watch you kick out of all those line twists
  11. A step through can be caused while packing. I did it when I had somewhere around 40 jumps. Packed it up normal and flipped the bag through the lines before closing the container. When I was packing it I found it odd that I had to pull my pilot chute through the lines but it didn't cross my mind at that time that I had done something wrong
  12. It can be easily removed by 2 bolts, and top mounted on my open-face in 30 sec. I'm not worried about scrapping the idea. I'm just looking for some constructive criticism and for anyone to point out actual flaws or snag points.... so far nothin. Yeah it can be easily removed on the ground! I know you have experience taking your helmet off during ep's though so I'm sure you will be fine
  13. We used protecs with a 2 way radio mounted on top of the helmet. Then took a pair of head phones apart and mounted one of them on inside the helmet, so it's against the students ear. They worked pretty well but there were still students who said they couldn't hear you.
  14. If you have a 2 out situation why not just disconnect the RSL straight away? If you have a Bi plane or side by side that turns into a down plane it would be better to already have the RSL unhooked so you can just chop the main.
  15. Ok help out the n00b....why was he reaching for his slider instead of his rears to flatten out his flight? *** Because the flapping noise was bugging him
  16. Something like this? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ne52pIpYmXA
  17. That's the one I was trying to find. I saw it some time ago but didn't see it last night.

  19. Go Pro's will take a lot of abuse!! My friend and I mounted mine on his RC car numerous times and since he sucks at driving it and it's fast (around 50mph) it still works after multiple crashes.
