  1. I think that is it just a suggestion. We did jumps from 22,000 and all we had to do was a quick 30 minute briefing. They never mentioned anything about license requirements.
  2. The only thing that might come with the main is soft links. The D-bag, pilot chute, risers and toggles are part of the container.
  3. I would bring a gear bag with you because there is a good chance you will be required to check your bag at the gate. I wouldn't want to check my rig if it's not protected in a bag. I fly on the ERJ's frequently and there is not a lot of over head space. I can barely fit my computer bag in the overhead and I know my rig is bigger. Also if your on the left side of the plane, where it's a single seat, there is not much room underneath the seat. So try to get a seat on the right side.
  4. You do one hour straight with no breaks? Unless your in the tunnel a lot I would think that you would be worn out within 30 minutes. Normally i've done 15 minute sessions per group, with 1.5 minutes in the tunnel and then a 4.5 minute break while the other groups are flying. I would try to do your tunnel time in the morning and then go jump what you practiced.
  5. You really need to try on different helmets to figure out which one works best for you. My glasses do not fit under the helmet I have, but I have tried on different helmets where my glasses fit fine. The only recommendation I would have for you is to stay away from the helmets that mount the audible on the outside. I have a Oxygen A3 and it mounts my Neptune on the outside. I have broken the Neptune 3 times in the last year and half.
  6. I've had my Michigan RW suit for 2 years. Put 350 jumps on it and 4 hours in the tunnel. It has held up very well. I would order another one!
  7. I normally travel for 3 weeks out of the month. Typically fly out Monday and return on Friday. A few years ago I got in trouble for taking Red Eye flights home on Thursday, instead of flying home Friday. I would just go home and not show up Friday. Apparantly the company thinks that I should come in on Friday even though I spent all of early Friday morning on a flight. It's worked out now but for a while it was a big arguement.
  8. How many different places are you going to post this?
  9. I have a Neptune and before it broke (twice) I loved it. It's more my fault that it broke since it's mounted as an external audible though. But anyway I liked that I could jump all weekend and then whenever I felt like logging I could go back and use the neptune. It holds all the info from your jumps like date, time, exit altitude, free fall delay, canopy time ect.....
  10. Why did you order a suit with vented booties if your fall slow? From what I have heard vented booties are recommended more for heavier jumpers. Booties are great and it will probably take a little time to get used to them. Like the other guy said talk to some people and get some advice in person, do a few jumps with them if possible. Also like the other guy said if you have to run out your landing it can be more difficult. Personally I take my booties off after opening whenever possible, but MAKE SURE if you do this that your airspace is plently clear. This is an option not something that has to be done on every jump!
  11. Elsinore is a great dropzone and I love going there. The people are very friendly and i'm sure you will be glad you went there. Every time i've been there they have been AFF students on the loads. Don't worry about repeating jumps. If you need to repeat one it's not that big of deal. A lot of people have to repeat levels. Your lucky because you have a wind tunnel about 30 minutes from the DZ so if your having troubles you can always go work on it in there. Also once your off student status be sure to check out the "Excel" program they have. Basically it's free organizing for all experience levels. So won't have any problems meeting other people and getting on jumps with them
  12. Depends on your job but good luck in this economy. Be thankful you have a job.
  13. I bought this one about a year ago. I'm sure you could make one really easy, I am just lazy and would rather give someone else $60 to do it http://www.paragear.com/templates/base_template.asp?group=188#RR2006 you might have to scroll around it's not loading it right on the spot with the rig rack
  14. Maybe your right but for the first 150 or so jumps the openings were soft and on heading. I was just wondering if it was normal for them to be so off heading after 300 jumps. Personally I would prefer to open and not spin around a full revolution.
  15. Maybe... I am not convinced that it is body position but it is possible. I let a few ppl jump it when it was new but nobody except me had jumped it in the last 200 jumps. It still opens soft as hell, really soft compared to my old sabre, but I would prefer a consistent on heading opening.
  16. Pro pack. Whether I pack fast to make a load or take my time it doesn't seem to matter. I would say that 75% of the time I have been having off heading openings.
  17. I can't give you an answer on your question but I also have a pilot and have noticed that my openings have been off heading for the atleast the last 50 to 75 jumps also. Some of the time it is just a small off heading but I have had a fair number of 360's on opening lately. I also have about 300 jumps on my pilot. Is this normal for a canopy to be out of trim this soon?

  19. I've done that a few times. Can't really think of a reason why your ears would be hurting from not closing your visor. Were you jumping when your head was stuffed up or had some kind of a cold?
  20. He tried to buy my helmet off me also. Here is what he put. Hi Jon, How are you doing? Thanks for the email and fotos. I'm willing to pay $125. Right now i'm out of town on business and won't be able to see the Helmet. You don't have worry about shipping, i'll handle that. Pls consider it sold to me and pls don't entertain other offers. This will be similar to a local pickup. As for payment, I will instruct my accountant to issue you a cheque of $2,865 (Drawn on a U.S. Bank) as i am not in the U.S. at the moment. Once you receive the cheque i will like you to deduct your payment of $125 and then you will have to wire the excess amount to my shipper via MoneyGram or Western union transfer the moment you receive the cheque so that the Shipper can immediately come for collection of the Helmet. Pls let me know if i can trust you in wiring the excess funds to my shipper immediately you receive the cheque, as you know it is not easy to trust people nowadays. Note: my shipper will be picking up some other Automobiles and Heavy Machineries for me in the U.S., including the Helmet i am buying from you, this is why his shipping fee is that much. This way you will be free from shipping hastles and stress, as my shipper will come over to your place for collection and shipping of the Helmet once he receives the funds. And if you are okay with this way of payment, pls mail me your full details (Name, address and phone numbers) so that payment can be sent to you. Hope to hear from you soon. Martin.
  21. I'm just wondering how strong you think the magnet is on the Sky Tie? You said that you "prefer a Velcro keeper, as it will actually release". Maybe i'm wrong and your talking about something else, like the way it's installed but i'm just wondering. I do plan on talking to my rigger (again) and now have some doubt in this product. So any info is appreciated.
  22. Before I installed and used this, I showed it to my rigger and discussed the possible side affects of it. The way it installs I was told that it will not interfere with the reserve deployment. So do I really need it? Maybe.... All though i do not swoop, before when I pulled my slider down it would interfere with my vision. Most of the time it would block my vision looking back/down. Sometimes it would come up enough that I wanted something to hold it down. This seemed to be a better option than a rubber band/ball setup.
  23. I got one of these about 30 jumps ago. So far no complaints. http://www.skysystemsusa.com/accessories/SkyTie.htm
  24. I have a Pilot and have had consistent soft and on heading openings with it. They have a good rep but any canopy can smack you. They are only a semi eliptical though.
