By quick internet check, sunrise in his part of the world is about an hour and a quarter before it is in your part. ..... not perfect then....

Why focus on that part? Who gives a toss who you get busted by.... when sunrise is at an hour that is unacceptable from certain objects should not the question be something different... Is it really? We have an 1100 footer by my house. It has catwalks at 350 and 700 and another little platform at about 550. I've never climbed higher than 350. I've thought about going higher, but it just never seems worth it. Maybe if I was doing gainers and flips and all that, but I'm not. 350 takes me about 25 minutes. I can't see where it's worth it to climb another hour for an extra couple seconds of freefall when I'm just going to go off flat and stable anyways. I might be more likely to climb all the way up if it was daytime and nice weather with some friends, but I'm by myself a lot lately and it's always at night and it's cold here. Guess I'm just a big fat pussy. You are not a big fat pussy, my average height from all my jumps is sub 300, I have done 3000ft, 700ft and 500ft but to be honest, I prefer the sub 300ft range....

I think that we are always in a danger zone. The reasons and amount of effect they have just change with where you are at your point in time/experience.

Nice.... exactly how it should be.... If you do 10 skydives in the day do you remember how cool the first one was? If you do 10 BASE jumps in a day do you remember the intensity you felt, the way your PC touched your hand in freefall, the way your leg was slightly kicking? on the first one?.... why risk your life for something you dont remember the fine details about?

How exactly did you measure that "170ft" height.....

If you need to ask then you need to repack....

When I have taken GC that are not jumpers I first try and frighten them out of wanting to GC.... if that does not work then I want to know what they will do with certain situations... I would ask them how they would react to certain situations, trauma training is a plus..... I would ask them how they will react to me hitting the ground in freefall and watching me bursting open.... Decent GC IS a skill in itself, GC is not having a couple of guys with you that want to watch..... think about what you want from GC not what GC wants from you.....

Only use GC that are BASE jumpers themselves.... why bother using GC that are not jumpers? If you cant use BASE jumpers, then at least use people you know and trust and who know about what you are doing.... have a GCer invite another person that you have not requested to me shows that you should not have asked that guy to be GC in the first place....
