  1. Unless someone else had had a different experience I've found just about every commercially available motion detector to be totally useless.... Less talking, more flying.
  2. It might just be the alcohol speaking, but my first instinct here is Less talking, more flying.
  3. Nice job, very well framed and steady! Less talking, more flying.
  4. Done and a clicky: http://www.questionpro.com/akira/TakeSurvey?id=825312 Less talking, more flying.
  5. Brian Germain is doing the class. I don't know whether or not he does different classes but I am under the impression that this will not be a high performance canopy course. Less talking, more flying.
  6. My guess is someone knowing nothing about skydiving was put in charge of the buy and decided that the most high performance, most expensive canopies they could buy meant they were the "best". Less talking, more flying.
  7. I absolutely love my Alti-Track. The features are all so super neato, and it is very easy to use. I was a little intimidated by it at first since it literally comes with a "road map", but I soon realized that to take advantage of all the bells and whistles all you do is literally put it on and get in in airplane. With all the fancy stuff the alti-track has got, you could get a more bare bones audible without all the expensive data logging features. I guess I'm a big fan of L&B from all the customer service stories and the products in general, so when it comes time for me to buy an audible it will probably be a Pro-Dytter. Less talking, more flying.
  8. One of their false websites is verbatim our club's name.com, so I called them yesterday and they claimed to BE our local club. That's just plain shady... Less talking, more flying.
  9. Well, in that case..... I'm going to go drink beer (the only real solution to pretty much anything). Less talking, more flying.
  10. jtval, I was posting a response to the original poster, not you. No, I don't think people with more jumps than me is an egomaniac (everyone has more jumps than me!). Hell, I know only a few people in this sport with less jumps than me. I just think this individual came of like a jerk, unless I totally missed the boat here. If the original post was made in seriousness, than I truly believe he is the real loser here. Less talking, more flying.
  11. "Only talk to and become friends with people who are quite experienced." I guess that says it all. I guess I won't ever waste your time getting to know you, so long as you don't waste mine. I'm really bummed I won't ever have the privilege of you speaking to me... I guess I'll have to find any one of the thousands of experienced jumpers who isn't a complete tool to befriend. Go jump by yourself since no one else is even remotely on your level. Have a nice day almighty. Less talking, more flying.
  12. -$600 -Precision Aero Raven Dash-M 135 -08/1997 -0 Rides -Replaced brake lines (so says the data card) -No holes patches..... etc. Less talking, more flying.
  13. I'm guessing your seester is the once next to who I believe to be your niece, well she pretty much looks exactly like a girl I knew a couple years back. Like enough like her that I would probably go say hi to her if I saw her in public. Less talking, more flying.
  14. My DZ's field elevation is a little over 5000', but the air density is commonly over 7500'. Our Cessnas can get us a solid 11,000 agl, but I've seen as high as 13k. It's a long ride up though. Less talking, more flying.
  15. I think you'd notice the air density differences under canopy more than any difference in freefall times. Less talking, more flying.
  16. I would say that it's safe to say that your Sabre 2 will be much all around quicker than that Navigator. Turns, pitch control every thing will happen at a higher rate of speed, and all your inputs will probably be significantly more drastic depending on your wing loading. Less talking, more flying.
  17. Dude wtf??? Less talking, more flying.
  18. For some reason (and I really can't explain it) Jimi Hendrix always makes me think about jumping. I've always told myself I would put together a video to some Hendrix someday. Less talking, more flying.
  19. Kinda... you know.... wow. Less talking, more flying.
  20. I've found that those Heineken mini-kegs hold pretty well for a week or so. I don't know how much life they've got in them past that. Less talking, more flying.
  21. 0. Got to sit home all weekend sick when I just got my new new rig last weekend.... Less talking, more flying.
  22. To be perfectly honest, I don't think what you are experiencing is uncommon. You're doing something that is previously unnatural to you, and my guess is it's just going to take some time to build confidence and get comfortable. I find that visualizing the dive flow over and over on the way up to altitude keeps my mind busy enough that I don't have a chance to get nervous. Less talking, more flying.

    Back tracking

Coming from a small drop zone, I get to do plenty of solo tracking dives, and lately I've been working on back tracking. I can hold a solid back track and change headings, but I have a tendency to drop head low and have a super high fall rate. Is this just because the air I would normally be "cupping" with my chest & shoulders is now spilling off of my rig/back? If this is the case, or even if it's not, does anyone have some tips for keeping my head from going low and becoming a meat missile? Less talking, more flying.
  24. Not that I'm a super experienced jumper myself, but what is the point of downsizing if all you want to do is land safely? Less talking, more flying.
