  1. Dropped the soap. Twice. Less talking, more flying.
  2. That's awesome! Good for him, I bet it was mind blowing for him. Less talking, more flying.
  3. I was there myself, and believe it or not, you don't need to make a jump right now. You can live to see your 16th, 18th, and even more birthdays without making a jump. Make some calls, do what you have to, but if you end up having to wait, you'll live. Less talking, more flying.
  4. Pretty funny skit... http://funnyordie.com/v1/view_video.php?viewkey=3efbc24c7d2583be6925 Less talking, more flying.
  5. I'm kinda trading racing for jumping too, only a little more abruptly..... Laguna is an amazing track, very technical. 6 definitely isn't the best place to go off there. Less talking, more flying.
  6. Nice pictures bud. I really want to get back into racing, but after my bad get off last season I'm not sure I can afford it... Here's my last race... Coming down the longest straight on the track I threw a rod, dumping every drop of oil right onto the rear tire. I dipped into the next corner at about 120mph and before I even had a chance to relize I was sliding. As my luck would be, it was a banked corner, so both the bike and I flew off the top of the banking around 70mph. I did my best impression of something resembling a sit/backfly and cleared about 50 feet of weeds and dirt maybe getting 6 or so feet high, landing on piece of another track. The bike on the other hand wasn't quite so gracefull. It caught the dirt a few times tumbling end over end about the same distance I flew. Needless to say pretty effing torn up. 7. I would certainly go. My girlfriend is in school in SA so I am there quite often. Honestly though, I would think Houston to be a better bet. It's a bigger city, with more money, a bunch of tourism, and I would imagine a big local skydiving community. Less talking, more flying.
  8. Too cool! And correct on all three counts. Kelly was my FJC instructor and Elija jumped my reserve side. Adam did an amazing job on the photos as that was one of 65 (every one of them a winner). Everyone is really great out there. I'm going out today, I'll be sure to say hi for you. -Alex (also) Less talking, more flying.
  9. Made this for another forum today, but I thought it deserved posting. I know, I'm a bad, bad man. -Alex Less talking, more flying.
  10. I have a bit of a fear of hieghts, but I have yet to really feel it jumping. After a certain altitude, the ground is so far away that it just isn't threatening anymore. Less talking, more flying.
  11. I think my face pretty well describes everything going through my head. This is from my first jump on saturday. Can't say enough how awesome it was! Simply amazing, I think the most fun thing I've ever done. I'm going back on saturday for level 2. Can't wait! Anyways I just thought this was a funny/neat picture and I'd share it.
  12. Was it just me, or was there not one single AFF jump in that video? *scratches head* Less talking, more flying.
  13. None, just made my first AFF this weekend having never been tandem. I'm glad I did too. I knew it was going to be something I liked, and I enjoyed the extra freedom/independence. To tell you the truth, I really enjoyed being under canopy on my own. Less talking, more flying.
  14. Well, all I can say is that was by far THE most amazing thing I have ever done. Mind you I've been a pilot my whole life, a motocross racer, motorcycle road racer, and the feeling I got from one jump vastly out does everything else combined. I don't speak elequently enough to put it into words, just amazing. I'm hooked! I'm going back to the DZ saturday for level 2. Less talking, more flying.
  15. Tomorrow! Woohoo! Less talking, more flying.
  16. Hey how's it going? Just wanted to introduce myself. I've been lurking aroundhere for a year or so, since my interest in skydiving took off. I finally got scheduled in for my AFF level 1 for tomorrow, but got a call at about 3:00 this afternoon from the DZ postponing... I guess a bunch of instructors are out of town, and of the two in town one called in sick... Nonetheless I'm scheduled for the 17th now. Now the anticipation is really starting to kill! Two more weeks....... Anywho, just wanted to introduce myself. Can't wait to get up there! -Moto89 Less talking, more flying.
  17. It is... Figured so.... Why does all the fun stuff have to cost so much? Less talking, more flying.
  18. Neato man! I just posted in another thread about making the pilot to jumper transition, but I'm also making the road racer to jumper transition as well. I've been racing middleweight superbike for the last couple years here until I finally turned my R6 into a complete paperweight. I kinda decided to try something new since I haven't been racing, so skydiving it is. Just hope this isn't quite so expensive! -Alex SMRI Expert #189 Less talking, more flying.
  19. I'm a pilot myself. I guess we'll see how well it transfers over for me when I do my first AFF jump in the next week or so here. Oh yeah, hi. Less talking, more flying.
