  1. For anyone that is interested, a little light on the subject. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=3072379;sb=post_latest_reply;so=ASC;forum_view=forum_view_collapsed;;page=unread#unread Less talking, more flying.
  2. That generally turns out with me spinning faster yet because this spinner doesn't really like any input. Less talking, more flying.
  3. I feel like I've pumped the brakes, pulled risers, and kicked my heart out but it seems to be spinning faster and faster. My hard deck is within sight. Less talking, more flying.
  4. Wish I could tell you, but I'm working on my business degree now. I sure hope it is worth it, cause this is a shit ton of work. Less talking, more flying.
  5. You get the impression you love your significant other much more than they love you? Is it a salvageable mal, or does it need to be cut away? Sigh... Less talking, more flying.
  6. Sorry to hear, I lost my pup to bone cancer a couple years back and still think about her all the time. Blue ones... Less talking, more flying.

  9. YOU may know where to look. This person had no idea. Put yourself in their shoes, and realize it was an honest mistake. I would like to think that if I (as a whuffo) found some equipment I might make an effort to google a parachute club in my area, or maybe check the yellow pages. I have asked a couple non-skydiver friends of mine (who frankly don't give 2 shits about skydiving, nor skydivers) what they would do in this situation. So far 100% of the answers have been to search for a parachute or skydiving club in their area. I highly doubt that the canopy was found far from an airport to boot. I'm trying to think of an unrelated good that would make a good comparison to this, but I'm drawing blanks at the moment. I'll get back to you on that. -Blue ones, Alex Edit: I'm not insinuating that she is a bad person or a sinner or a satanic canopy stealing heathen, what I am saying is that the sensible thing to do would have been to try to find a club or commercial DZ in her area, rather than pawning it off no questions asked. I suppose she could have, but from what she said to kaerodyne, I simply don't get that impression. Less talking, more flying.

  11. God dammit will, stop buying useless shit. Buy a fucking rig and jump before you buy any more stupid shit you don't need. /END. Love, Alex Less talking, more flying.
  12. Man that really bothers me. Let's just make some money off of the thing instead of making an attempt to find the rightful owner. Less talking, more flying.

Episode 1: http://youtube.com/watch?v=Q_RpbaUU7NI 2: http://youtube.com/watch?v=pZvc_-39I3s 3. http://youtube.com/watch?v=Y0X40l_VsVM 4. http://youtube.com/watch?v=NZHWVhkLJ8s and 5. http://youtube.com/watch?v=iwBrpVW7TKc I think the first three are the funniest, but they're all worth watching I guess. 15. I'll I will say is this: Have fun, enjoy the dive, and don't forget to smile. Before exit on one of my student jumps my instructor looked at me and smiled, motioning towards his mouth for me to do the same. It actually made a difference in my mindset and subconsciously reminded myself that I was doing this to have fun, not to be terrified. Other than that I would say talk to your instructors who know you and your history much better than anyone here does. It seems you have already done that so keep on keepin' on and make some jumps. Relax and stay neutral and you should find yourself nice and stable. Welcome to skydiving! Less talking, more flying.
  16. Anyone else see this? Less talking, more flying.

  19. Take my word for what it's worth but that looks like too short of brake lines to me. I see a lack of finish in the flare as well but that's a different issue. Less talking, more flying.

    Holy ish

Food poisoning is pretty much one of the worst experiences of my whole life. If you'll excuse me I'm going to go barf for the 33rd time today. Less talking, more flying.
  21. JC, would this be for H20 Boogie or just a special weekend? -Alex See you sunday for balloon jumps man! Less talking, more flying.
  22. The only advice will give you is this: listen to your instructors, they know you infinitely better than anyone on the internet does. Have fun, and smile, skydiving is fun, keep it that way. Remember to crawl, walk, then run... there is no reason to take things any faster than you should. I think you will gain respect from the more experienced jumpers at your DZ by keeping a level head and not getting ahead of yourself. From one newer jumper to another, WELCOME!!! Less talking, more flying.
  23. Buy used, work nights during the week, and pack your ass of at the dropzone on weekends. I have only had to pay for $100 or so worth of jumps since August. I generally don't let myself jump until I've packed 2 or 3 student rigs that day. Buying gear was rough, I did it by working full time during the summer. I am a college sophomore by the way. Best of luck, but I can tell you from personal experience that jumping in college is tough, but oh so worth it. You might have to choose between jumping one weekend or having beer (even diner.... ) that weekend but if you want to jump bad enough you will find a way to make it work. Less talking, more flying.
  24. Is it totally legit? Less talking, more flying.
