    Observations from an ultra newbie

I have a stress and rescue scuba rating and have been skydiving for a couple of years and can tell you that from my observations and experiences the two have little in common. Skydiving is much more dangerous and demands a much higher level of concentration and education. Don't forget that just because someone has x thousands of jumps does not mean that they are safe and have the best advice. Find your dropzone's s&ta and take advice from them. That is actually a piece of advice from another poster on this thread which has proven to be some of the best skydiving advice I have ever received. "If you don't like your job, you don't strike! You just go in every day, and do it really half assed. That's the American way." - Homer Simpson

St Marys and the restricted P50 zone

Guess its never happened, or it has and no one will talk about it out of fear of the men with the big guns. "If you don't like your job, you don't strike! You just go in every day, and do it really half assed. That's the American way." - Homer Simpson

Anything a skydiver CAN'T get out of?

The challenger's do have doors to the baggage areas. The compartment can be accessed in flight via the door in the back of the lav. The same goes for virtually all large business jets. The Gulfstream 3, 4, and 5 all have the same setup as do all of the later model Falcons and global express jets. A good general rule for these aircraft is that if it is capable of trans Atlantic flight, the rear baggage door will be accessible from the cabin. Exceptions do exist eg citation x Opening the door from the inside, that is another story entirely. "If you don't like your job, you don't strike! St Marys and the restricted P50 zone

Has anyone ever landed in the restricted P50 zone here? "If you don't like your job, you don't strike! You just go in every day, and do it really half assed. That's the American way." - Homer Simpson

    Skydive The Farm

AMAZING DZ. Hans the DZO and his wife sandy rock and the rest of the staff are extremely helpful and friendly. Packers have a great attitude . Everyone is there to help and the instructors are top-notch. No major complaints with this dz, pretty much everyone is friendly and helpful. On site rigging by Mike G at chuting star makes it a one stop shop. Safety is first here which is extremely comforting. The landing area is huge, flat, smooth and easy to spot from the air. I don't jump there as much as I would like to because its a 2.5 hour drive for me but as spring and summer approach I'll be out there more. Visit, you wont be disappointed.

    Dissilusioned after AFF1

I broke my pelvis on two places on jump 37 and was back up in the air in 9 weeks (4 weeks earlier than the doctor said). Learn from it and get your ass back in the air. Skydive The Farm is AWESOME!!!

I'll be up there soon enough. After over two months off (because I hate the cold) I am getting back into it. I want to get enough so I can do my 100th on march 1st. Fear vs. nerves?

Get over it and get out of the plane. You're holding up the rest of the load! "If you don't like your job, you don't strike! You just go in every day, and do it really half assed. That's the American way." - Homer Simpson

    Time out for injury

I broke my pelvis in two places last march and was out for 12 weeks and i only had a few more jumps than you. Once I got over my anxiety and got back in the air, landing scared the crap out of me. Took a few weeks to get over. Even drove out to the dz a couple of times then decided I couldn't do it and drove home. Give it some time. I took Ian's canopy control course at the farm and that brought back a lot of confidence. It was extremely helpful and I highly recommend taking it when you get better, it will make you a more confident and better canopy pilot. No ian did not pay me to say that but maybe he should. Skydive the Farm for Halloween

Spence's rule applies here. I have no idea what that means, I'm too lazy to go back through the thread and look it up. besides, I have good reason to bail. Starting out

I'm getting it at cost from a reputable dealer (i know the owner of the store) if it turns out bad which it sounds like it wont as long as OIS is off I'll just return it.
