  1. Re: I never say, "I've never been pied." I know that someone at the Dublin Boogie in Georgia in 2006 got it good from posting on dz.com that they've never been pied. Don't know who it was, but I helped anyway! Plus, my 1000th is coming up and..well..karma is one helluva bitch (so I've heard ) http://3ringnecklace.com/

    Big News!

She's got her game face on already! Congrats http://3ringnecklace.com/
  5. That was SO FUNNY!!!!! Very very well done. Love it. http://3ringnecklace.com/
  6. Both Skydive Houston and Spaceland are great. http://3ringnecklace.com/
  7. I've been in this situation in the past and I kept the rig. I knew that if i sold it, I would never skydive again. I also knew that I would be in a better financial situation in my future, and I did want to start skydiving again someday. I'm glad I did because now I can make money skydiving. Keep the rig. Use it as collateral for the loan from your parents. Pack your ass off for the money. Sell something else. There is ALWAYS another way than selling your rig. In my eyes, you're digging a deeper hole in the long run when you sell your rig. http://3ringnecklace.com/
  8. Alright Kim! You'll find tandem jumps to be very rewarding.
  9. When people who are more experienced than you are choosing to stay on the ground and not jump, DON'T jump. Expect to PLF on every landing (feet, knees together). Downsize slowly. Read incident reports. Listen to your instructors, even when you are no longer a student. Never stop learning. And learn the easy way, not the hard way. Learn from others mistakes (aka don't be "that guy"). Blue skies~ http://3ringnecklace.com/
  10. [sarcasm] Thanks for defending him Chris. [/sarcasm] And you made that comment knowing that you have seen how bad his drinking problem is. His "personal issue" is no secret! The point of my previous post was not to slam my ex. If anything, I DEFENDED his review of SSM. http://3ringnecklace.com/
  11. Let me set the record straight before you go posting shit that you don't know on a public forum. Brandon is my ex-boyfriend. He worked at SSM from April of 2008 to October of 2008. He then worked at SD 35 and SD Temple for while, then he decided to only work at SD Temple in October of 2009. He moved to Hawaii in May 2010 and apparently is working there. We broke up in November 2009 because of his drinking problem. I jumped with Brandon at SSM while he was working there and I still stand by my review that I posted on dz.com. That was my experience and it is my opinion about it. I have not returned to SSM since. I don't know what it like there now since I have stopped jumping there. I can say that there were good people at SSM as well. I have run into other jumpers since leaving SSM who had plenty of negative experiences there likewise. When I jumped at SSM, sometimes I was the only fun jumper (or one of a few fun jumpers), and we were dumped out ahead of the tandems at 10.5K instead of taken up to 13.5K on a second pass. I still had to pay the same prince. I have jumped and worked at Skydive Temple and I have nothing bad to say about them. It is a small dropzone with plenty of good vibes and good people. I no longer work at Skydive Temple, so my comments are NOT a reflection or representation of Skydive Temple's view of SSM. As for the competing dropzones making boogies on the same weekend, all fair in love and war. http://3ringnecklace.com/
  12. As far as I know, your two choices are Raeford NC and Orlando FL. Good luck! http://3ringnecklace.com/
  13. You're not sorry. Admit it. http://3ringnecklace.com/
  14. WOW - how much time did that take? I don't have any tats so I have no idea but it looks like it took quite a while. http://3ringnecklace.com/
  15. I get to see my sweetie today!
  16. I used to trust only my family, but my sister destroyed my trust in an argument that we had. So I no longer trust her. Or hardly else for that matter. I trust my rigger. And I completely trust my boyfriend. Other than that, I have had my trust in others broken time after time again, so the trust factor is really touchy for me. It takes a lot for me to trust someone. http://3ringnecklace.com/
  17. I wish my ex could have gotten this concept- He was addicted to both skydiving (a good thing) and alcohol (a bad thing). And I don't care about all the drinking hipe that is out there is the skydiving community. There are people in the sport who have serious drinking issues and the drinking culture in skydiving only enables them. I don't care that I miss out in Saturday night shenanigans; skydiving is about falling out of planes, not how much I get hammered and show my tits to perfect strangers! It doesn't make me less of a skydiver~ http://3ringnecklace.com/
  18. That's awesome news- congrats!
  19. Darwin Award in the making... http://3ringnecklace.com/
  20. I saw on the news yesterday that Bob Shepard, the long-time Yankees' announcer, died at the age of 99. I remember going to "Bob Shepard Day" at Yankee Stadium (the original stadium, not the new one). RIP Bob! http://3ringnecklace.com/
  21. I have had problems with my Infinity risers and toggle fires in the past too. I have an Infinity rig, not a Mirage. it seems like the toggle keepers are too high above the ring on the riser. I had a rigger put a line of stitching along the side of the toggle keepers to make them more snug. I've needed this done twice. I haven't had any problems since then though. http://3ringnecklace.com/
  22. I was hoping someone would start this thread! : 6: I FINALLY was able to jump again after being grounded for seven weeks due to a knee injury. I had a kick-ass time doing some belly jumps, and it was so great to finally jump an Otter again. I guess I owe beer for first jump in my new knee brace and first jump at Skydive Dallas.
