  1. I was jumping a Stiletto 135, which I thought was well within my ability range, given that I have 1000 jumps. I was wrong. I couldn't land it safely when I jumped out of the balloon when there was no outs. Knee surgery and 6 months of physical therapy is no joke. I've upsized to a Pulse 150 and I'm not going to be doing any balloons ever again. http://3ringnecklace.com/
  2. It takes me 5-10 mins to pack. I propack my Pulse 150. I used to have a lot of gear fear when I started packing and the two cutaways early on didn't help either. So I devoted myself to learning to pack by becoming a packer. Now I've got the muscle memory to do the rest. http://3ringnecklace.com/
  3. I just got back in the air after having ACL and cartilage surgery. Now I wear two knee braces when I jump but it's better than staying on the ground! All the best DSE!! Heal quickly! http://3ringnecklace.com/
  4. From my Mom: "Never turn down help; you may not get any when you really need it." Love ya Ma! http://3ringnecklace.com/
  5. Pick a major in college you can actually use and yes you are smart enough to excel in it. And go to grad school right after undergrad. http://3ringnecklace.com/
  6. It's funny how a lot of these responses are of students who actually did what they were told to do- that IS surprising!!! I was surprised when one of my tandem student came back the following weekend and gave me a tip- and then asked me out! He was way too old for me and I wasn't single at the time so I had to turn him down. This thread is making me miss doing tandems! I had to give it up because of an injury and they were hard work but the enjoyment of the students was always worth it. http://3ringnecklace.com/
  7. All of my night jump landings have been perfect. My then-boyfriend (now ex boyfriend) was injured on a night jump landing. He was flying a Katana 120 and didn't flare. He hit the ground ankles, knees, elbows, hands, face. He had symmetrical wounds on both sides of his body. He was hurting but didn't break anything because both sides of his body hit at the same time. He was very lucky! http://3ringnecklace.com/
  8. Hello to Long Island from Texas! I grew up in Poughkeepsie NY and now I'm in Texas jumping at Skydive Dallas. Enjoy the journey and blue skies! http://3ringnecklace.com/
  9. It drives me crazy when I see people put soda or tea in their kid's sippie cups! I also don't think schools should have soda machines either. What I don't get is when people bring their kids to STARBUCKS. Yes I have seen this and it makes no friggin' sense http://3ringnecklace.com/
  10. I drive up to Fort Worth and stay there for the night, which is 2.5 hrs. Then I drive the next day to the Skydive Dallas, which is another 1.5 hrs. I thought that was bad until I met another jumper there who drives from Louisiana to Skydive Dallas. Yikes! http://3ringnecklace.com/
  11. That's so funny that you mention the Pulse and torn ACLs DSE, because that is the canopy that I am demoing right now. I'm coming back from an ACL surgery and I do not want to jump the Stiletto I was jumping before when I got hurt. It does open very softly and on heading. The landings were so nice and gentle. What a luxury!
  12. Have a great birthday SkyMama!

  15. What I want to know if who the hell would be able to keep up with this fat fuck...I mean heavy student in freefall? http://3ringnecklace.com/
  16. I got inked the night before my AFF-1. All the extra weight from the ink in my right arm caused me to turn to the right throughout the entire freefall. It's best to wait. I'm surprised the altimeter on your left hand didn't balance it out http://3ringnecklace.com/
  17. Maybe they don't want to be around you. http://3ringnecklace.com/
