Who got wet during water training?
airathanas replied to skydivermom's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
The college that I got my Bachelors Degree from made passing a swim test a graduation requirement. And yes, I actually got in the water for my water training. http://3ringnecklace.com/ -
What do you guys pay to jump at your DZ?
airathanas replied to Philly215's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
You don't pay less for hop and pops? That's a rip-off. http://3ringnecklace.com/ -
Don't forget to tip the packers that packed all of those chutes for you- http://3ringnecklace.com/

It depends on the DZ. There are packing classes, or you can ask a packer to help you. I've shown some people how to do it (I'm a packer), but I would recommend someone with certification to teach you. Like anything else, packing is easy, once you get the hang of it. Learn on an easy to pack canopy. I learned on a brand new canopy and I packed myself two malfunctions. Not fun. Practice practice practice too. I remember packing a chute, undoing it and packing it again. And again and again. http://3ringnecklace.com/

I didn't repeat any, nor did I come close to. Except I had a hard time pulling the tandem chute on my second or third jump. I was nineteen, no upper body strength and I don't think the guy threw the drogue. http://3ringnecklace.com/

General newbie skydiving questions
airathanas replied to critrgitr's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
If you really are concerned, you can always sit through AFF ground school. You are taught how to deal with these sorts of circumstances. http://3ringnecklace.com/ -
Condolence thread for Danny Page and Bob Holler
airathanas replied to PhreeZone's topic in Blue Skies - In Memory Of
I am still in shock that Danny is gone. I was there when it happened, and the feel of the drop zone was very depressing. I saw him earlier that day and my boyfriend talked to him as well. Whenever Danny saw my boyfriend, he would always say, "Where's the wife?" I have not been skydiving in Georgia long, but to know Danny is to love Danny. He will be sorely missed. I attached a picture of him dressed up as Buzz Lightyear at the Halloween Boogie in Thomaston. Blue Skies Danny! http://3ringnecklace.com/ -
I went there for a skydiving competition and I was very impressed with their facilities and professionalism. I highly recommend anyone that is in their area should check it out!
