  1. You guys are a bunch of sickos. You call yourself a skydiver!?
  2. Marcel, I'm there. At least Saturday, but I'll probably stay over and jump Sunday too. Sorry about putting my name in the list out of order. Feel free to punish me. I'm particularly fond of spankings.
  3. Stop being a pussy, and just jump it! I wish I could make it out to Byron tonight in time for the night jumps.

    A question on CPR

I recently took an EMT class, and was told precisely this, with regards to removing a helmet. Remember, when performing CPR, your job isn't to bring the person back to life, but to merely keep oxygenated blood flowing until the medics arrive. For the sake of anyone else reading this thread, don't forget that the brain can only survive for 3 minutes or so without oxygen, so don't fuck around. Start CPR ASAP.
  5. Sweet. I'm in for both the tracking contest, and Speedo day.
  6. Byron usually has its fair share of hot women folk, and with the heat being the way it is, they will hopefully be scantily clad as well. If that doesn't turn out to be the case, I'll borrow Ego Mike's clown thong. You know, to keep it real. I was hoping something would be open Monday and Tuesday (3rd and 4th), since I have those days off, and I could indulge in this addiction. Mini-boogie or something. Byron is usually closed on Monday and Tuesday.
  7. Is anything going on in NorCal the weekend of July 1st through the 4th?
  8. You are all slow. One dude I jump with at Byron calls me a meat bomb. 'Nuff said.
  9. My vote goes for Bay Area Skydiving in Byron. Great staff, and you are guaranteed to have fun. Note that I'm a regular jumper there, so I may be a bit biased.
  10. 0:10:3 No lovin', but I did get to do my 100th jump this Sunday, as well as water training. Also did my first head down for a fraction of a skydive (thanks Boomer, that rocked!) on Saturday.
  11. I've been thinking about getting PRK for well over a year now, so I can shift careers from a desk job to something.. more interesting. I've read a fair bit on the web, but a first hand account is always more interesting. Where did you get it done? How much did you pay? How long did the consultation and procedure take? What made you choose PRK over LASEK and LASIK?
  12. If AngelinaLewis is a troll, she sure as shit got a rise out of a few of you, which is generally what a troll is aiming for. Now, I went to public school, and admit to not being the sharpest egg in the hen, but I think she is just being humorous. Admittedly, her comments might be more appropriate for The Bonfire, but the world needs more funny. I know I laughed out loud.
  13. Who is going from Byron? Will there be a fair number of jumpers in the sub-100 jumps or so range? If so, I may fly down and join in the fun.
  14. Too C-ish. :) #!/usr/bin/perl @files = ('/file1', '/file2'); $log = 'logfile.log'; $date = `date`; chomp($date); open(LOG, ">>$log") or die "blah\n"; map { unlink($_) if(-e $_); print LOG "$date Deleted $_\n"; } @files; close(LOG);
  15. Right, you make sure you are using bourne or korn shell if using that redirection syntax. Why not just symlink the files to /dev/null? I assume you are concerned about them growing and filling up whatever volume they are on. That way, whatever program is opening them, and writing to them, can do so without error, but the results will end up in the bit bucket. That way, there is no fancy script to run from cron.
  16. 2:0:0 Got some birthday loving, but the weather was cloudy and rainy today, so no jumping. Sadly, I think I may have preferred the latter to the former.
  17. There is something to be said about Byron Love (tm). I'm as antisocial as they come. It pains me to make a phone call, and I have long since given up on making small talk with people. I can count the number of people who call me a friend one my hands, and still have enough fingers left over to go digging for gold. In two noses. But there is enough Love at Byron, even I feel welcome.
  18. You homophobes are missing out, as it is a great story.
  19. Quoted for truth! I recommend you tape them down for the first few weeks when you go to bed. It helps to prevent them from getting bumped around.

    Piercing?

I have both of my nipples pierced, and have had no problems at all, even with my sometimes less than ideal openings. Then again, I've had then for many years, so they are very thoroughly healed. I would feel bad for anyone with fresh piercings. When I first got mine pierced, I would have to tape them down when I went to sleep, since the pain of having them jostled would wake me up.
  21. I always haul major ass on that section of 580, since it is usually easy to look back far enough and see if there are CHP around. A few weeks ago, a CHP officer somehow snuck up right behind me when I was doing 85 on the way back from the DZ, with some of his lights on. I moved over to the next lane, and he passed right by me. It must have been my lucky day. To stay on topic: fuck yeah, it's on like donkey kong.
  22. Done, and sent to a few friends that are aware of what BASE is.
